the moment i saw the title i literally ran like Hasan to open this up...Kite Runner n i go bak to exam days...if not for this book i cudnt have been where i am...
im simply overwhelmed by this...the scene of the book keeps playing in my mind n i just get so nostalgic...
Khushi's race against tym for Arnav...Arnav's moment of enlightenment for Khushi...Snakwa's scorn shining at the same moment n all coming up together only to unite two people in the most intimate way...the realization of love is so powerful that it takes way the life lived before it...
well Snakwa did see his curious case coming to an end by him only...but Arnav saw a lifetime of strength support n companionship in the almost last smile she gave away...
i'll believe it ended to be like kite runner...a loopside smile containing a lifetime of forgiveness n acceptance...as Hasan like Khushi had run countless no. of times for Amir's happiness as she for Arnav...it will go down to live as Amir like Arnav will run for Sohrab's happiness as he will for Khushi... "For you, a thousand times over."
P.S- ur from Afganistan...my amma(mom) is too from there...😳
Oh gosh I know, how amazing is that book! It hits so close to home because I understand so much of the culture having met people like that before ! The way you described it was phenomenal, the lopsided smile Sohrab gives after all his time of silence and bearing the pain in his strong heart. How that smile contains a lifetime of forgiveness and happiness, that is such a beautifully sad thought! You are right in how Hassans dedication runs like Khushi's, I didn't notice it as much before !!
And yes, I am ! Yay, I might be related to your mum then ^_^
Thanks for the beautiful comment, I was thinking of the Kite Runner lots when i wrote this, I am so glad you found what I thought to be similar. It really made me smile ! Thanks so much
P.s I adored Hassan so much, a part of me actually died when he was executed, it was so dreadful. I still think of him as that little boy that repeated that line
For You, A Thousand Times Over
such a gem of a person !
And thank you everyone else for your comments too !
