Arnav woke immediately checking for Khushi...

She was still asleep in his arms...his one arm around her neck as she lay on her side...her delicate hand on his chest...he never wanted to move...never wanted this moment to end...because right at this second, she was safe.

Arnav remembered Shyam's phone call...

He remembered seeing Shyam's arms around her, holding her tight ...

Remembered Shyam's mouth on her neck...Arnav felt sick inside...How DARE he!

Arnav would explode with savage rage when Shyam would just mention Khushi's name, so the glowering infuriation that filled him now was more than he'd ever known before...

He remembered Khushi's weak body just hanging , her eyes closed in resignation...

Arnav's mind remembered her scream...Heard her yell for him...Raging emotions were stripping Arnav of his control...

He suddenly heard Khushi whimper and her body trembled slightly...

Arnav held her tighter...and his entire being roared with acute urgency to protect her...he kissed her hair and whispered..."I love you Khushi...you're with me jaan...i will always protect you with my life..." ...he tightly closed his eyes..."you're mine..."...

Khushi's senses woke up and even though her eyes were closed she immediately felt secure arms holding her...felt soft lips brush her hair...and heard a soothing protective voice claim her...

"Arnavji...?"

Arnav instantly opened his eyes and looked at his wife's beautiful face...

"I'm here Khushi..."

Khushi pressed closer to Arnav...

"Khushi...? Are you okay? Are you in any pain?"

Khushi carefully shook her head ...

"Khushi...open your eyes sweetheart..."

"n...n..no.."

Arnav lifted his hand to her face...she flinched slightly, but Arnav continued to let his fingers explore her face..."Khushi...you're here with me...just me and you...let me see your beautiful eyes..."

She was terrified that once she opened them, the feeling of safety and peace would disappear...

Khushi nervously opened her eyes...and the first thing she saw was Arnav...

"Beautiful..." Arnav said quietly...

Khushi smiled...

"what time is it...?"

"late afternoon...we slept for quite a while..."

"i'm sorry, i'm napping at all the wrong times..."

"sorry!? I got to make love to my gorgeous wife...YOU'RE sorry!? If i hadn't have been such a horrendously, pigheaded idiot we could have done this a lot sooner!...my God Khushi...i...i am so sorry for wasting so much time...i wish..."

"Arnavji...it's okay..."

"WHY is it okay!? My entire being only lives BECAUSE OF YOU...even when i was angry...the only reason i felt alive was knowing i had you...and i hurt you...I can't believe everything i did to you..."

Khushi saw Arnav panicking..."I forgave you a long time ago Arnavji..."

"What...what?...WHAT!?" and with that Arnav pressed his soft, warm lips to hers, kissing her soundly with equal parts fire and sweet regret. The kiss was long. Slow. Wet. Endless. And perfect...

Finally he lifted his lips slightly off hers...and his voiced cracked as he said, "Thankyou...thankyou so much...i won't let you regret this! I will be the best man i can be for you! I will always be here for you! I won't let you down..."

Khushi smiled and said, "you always have been here for me..."

Arnav trailed kisses down her neck...she jerked her neck slightly as stinging seethed through her... Arnav clasped his eyes shut...he was furious..."I. Will. Make. Him. Pay...i will kill him for doing this to you!!!!!"

"no Arnavji..."

"YES! I won't spare him! I can't bear seeing what has happened to you, all because of HIM!" He was shaking with fury...

Khushi lifted her hand slowly to his face...his eyes held hers...

She let her fingers slide along his rough cheek ...he turned his head to kiss her palm...

"please don't use violence...don't do anything that may take you away from me...please...i don't want to be alone again..." her voice choked back tears..

"Khushi...shhh please don't...your tears cut my heart...I'll let the police handle it...and as for being alone...never. you're mine."

"Where are they!? I mean, they are obsessed with each other! Can't we spend some time with Khushi too!?"

"Payalji...They are in love...and they haven't been able to show it for some time..." Akash said calmly..."they will be down for dinner later...just give them some time..."

"have the police made ANY progress tracking down Shyam?" Payal asked...

"no...they haven't sighted him anywhere...i don't know where he would have gone to..."

Khushi tried to get up...but she felt stinging pains...

"hey hey hey...wait..." Arnav said getting up and walking around the bed to her side...

He sat down next to her...sliding one hand behind her head and the other behind her back, he lifted her gently ...as carefully as he'd hold a baby...he held her close...kissing her softly..."i love you Khushi..."

Over the next few days Khushi became stronger...

Arnav's passion for her was constant...

Khushi's heart began trusting him more and more...

Now a week later...

Arnav entered their room.

He saw Khushi getting dressed up...as though about to go out...

"I sincerely hope you're dressing up that way just for me..." Arnav asked inquiringly shutting their door behind him...

Khushi always got a bit nervous seeing him...even though he was completely different with her now, he still got angry and Khushi still worried that he'd take it out on her...she smiled nervously...

"well... Jiji said she would take me to my doctors appointment, my check-up..."

"What the!? That's today!? Why didn't you tell me Khushi!?"

"Because you told me a few days back that you were going to work with Akash on this day..."

"so!? You could have told me and i would have cancelled everything!" he said walking towards her...

"Arnavji. You have almost given up everything in order to be with me, every minute of the day...i will be safe. There are more security guards in my life than regular people! We will be fine. You need to let me go and..."

Arnav was right in front of her by the time she said, "You need to let me go and..."

His mind was still echoing that phone call from Shyam...he hadn't told Khushi about it, not wanting to scare her any more than she already was...

"I can't let you do that."

Khushi froze. She stepped back looking worried...

"what? Why? What have i done?"

"this isn't because of you...I need you near me...because...I am scared of losing you..."

Khushi had been holding her breath...she finally let out a sigh of relief...making Arnav realize that she was scared of him again for a second...

"Khushi..." he breathed her name and held her intimately...

"You don't need to be scared of me...EVER." and he kissed her...as his lips caressed hers, he unclipped her hair and combed his fingers through...

Payal came and knocked on their door, making Khushi jump and Arnav growl in annoyance...

"Khushi? We are going to be late..." Payal said through the door...

"Okay Jiji...i am coming." she said looking at Arnav..."I will be okay...really..."

Arnav knew he had to let her have a bit of normalcy in her life again...so he kissed her forehead and let her go...

"I love you Khushi..."

Khushi just smiled nervously...

Arnav walked Payal and Khushi to the car, turned to the guard and said..."Don't let them out of your sight...you DON'T want to make any mistake when it comes to my wife...you value your life don't you?!"

"Arnavji!" Khushi said shocked that he just practically threatened the poor man.

"i will return home soon...please don't worry..." Khushi said smiling softly...

Arnav shut her door and watched them drive away...

"you better return soon, and i WILL worry..."
