Khushi stared at Arnav. Her Amma said that God would sent someone to hold her when she was afraid...ARNAVJI. HIS arms had come around her in her fearful state. HE was the reason for her apprehension to go...She looked into his eyes and dissolved into tears, "you're the reason i couldn't leave. I tried. I wasn't going to take anything. I was just going to go...but i couldn't ..." she took a shaky breath and continued..."I am very scared...i can't stop all the pain inside me...i try to forget it ...but memories come back to haunt me...i hate you for hurting me so...i hate you for hurting me so!!! "

Arnav's heart was breaking again for her...all he could do was whisper..."i'm so so so sorry..."

Khushi's tears were now blurring her sight...she grabbed his shirt collar and frantically said... "do you know what i hate the most...? ...i hate that despite everything, I CAN'T rip myself away from you...why can't I!!! I want to, but I can't!! Every step i take away from you stifles me! I can't breathe...how could my soul be wound so tightly to yours!?" her knees started to get weak, no longer being able to control her voice, she just grasped his shirt and cried bitterly...

Arnav let her cry...he let her tidal wave of tears drench his shirt and fall on his heart...he spoke quietly against her hair..."i love you Khushi...i won't ever stop repenting for what has happened...i won't ever stop loving you...i will show you the love you deserve...I just don't want to lose you .. i am here to make sure, that every time you start to feel pain, every time you start to feel fear...i will be ready to move heaven and earth to protect you...Give me that chance to make you feel loved. To show you who I really am—the man who can't live without you. The man who deserves your heart."

Khushi knew she could never leave him. Though the pain was great, her magnetic pull to him was greater. And even though the pain he gave her had broken her heart, the love he was now showering on her was soldering her heart back together...she simply nodded and Arnav let out a guttural sigh, one that showed how wounded he was for her and he held her against him...

Yelling voices broke their trance as Arnav realized that everyone was still looking for her...Khushi looked at him with a wrinkled brow wondering what was happening..."everyone is looking for you..." said Arnav, his voice shaking...Khushi looked up at him..."they're going to yell at me ..." Khushi said knowingly..."The Hell they are!..." and Arnav held her hand tight and let her back into their room and out the door...by the time they were halfway down the stairs Anjali and Payal had seen them and came running..."Khushiji! Chote has found her!" yelled Anjali... Payal spoke first, approaching Khushi..."HOW COULD YOU DO THIS!" Arnav stepped forward and gave Payal a very stern look...Payal, understanding what he was doing calmed herself..."i'm sorry Khushi... I have been burdened with worry..." she went and hugged Khushi..."please don't do that again...please know that we aren't going to let you run away from us ..." and Payal smiled ...making Khushi smile sadly ..."Khushiji?" Anjali's famous tears gracing her face..."I am truly sorry for not accepting you...I was very wrong...you should have spoken up to me but you remained so respectful...and i can only hope that i become more like you..." Anjali hugged Khushi now...Arnav felt his heart twist...why had he hurt her so much...why had EVERYONE hurt her so much...she was perfect. She was pure. And he had to go and destroy her slowly...Shyam. HE was to blame. HE had caused this. Arnav slowly raised his eyes to Shyam's room and saw the door slightly open..."WHAT!?" He yelled, startling everyone..."Where is jijaji? Why is his door open!?" Anjali quickly spoke..."you told us to check on him and he was worried too for Khushiji and offered to help...so..." She stopped speaking noticing her brothers face filling with rage..."where. Is. He. Now.?" Arnav's low voice frightened them all. Akash seeing his Bhai fuming with anger asked them all to take Khushi to another room and have some tea...leaving Akash and Arnav together. "Where is he?" Arnav asked desperately..."I'm right here Saale Saab..."

Arnav almost lunged at him but was held back by Akash...so Arnav walked confidently up to Shyam, brutally grabbed his arm and dragged him upstairs, throwing him into his room..."You STAY in here, or i swear, next time i see you, i won't be responsible for what i do to you!" Arnav's voice was hardly recognizable... Akash placed his hand on Arnav's shoulder trying to calm him..."don't be so dramatic Arnav... " said shyam..."But remember this...your so called wife...is mine. Her heart is mine and the rest of her..."he started to grossly lick his lips .."is definitely mine too..." Arnav was gone. Replaced by a carnal beast ready to rip apart it's prey...he broke free from Akash and tore into Shyam...They both were past the point of listening...Shyam clocked Arnav's jaw ...Arnav, who was feeling NO pain, fiercely and instinctively Arnav fought Shyam, able to counteract his every move...Arnav stood up and yanked Shyam up by pulling his hair...Shyam who was now bloodied and bruised just smiled and said, "it will happen soon..."..."Never." said Arnav as he punched Shyam in the gut , winding him temporarily, as he and Akash walked out the door locking it.

Arnav stormed to his room as Akash followed saying ..."he can't do anything. He can't do anything to Khushi. It's all just idle threats..." but Arnav was still pacing around, fists clenched..."Bhai, really, he CAN'T do anything..." Arnav turned to Akash..."He bloody well won't get a chance...because from tonight...i won't be leaving Khushi's side..." and with that, Arnav stormed out of the room

Shyam sat in his room...evil glare...she will be mine...whether i have to get rid of Arnav...or drive Khushi insane...i will get what i want...

Akash followed Arnav downstairs...Arnav burning with fear and fury could only think of one thing...Protecting Khushi...He felt his heart racing...

He stopped briskly as he saw her...she was looking around searching for something...he wished for a moment that she was looking for him... As the family stood up, Arnav walked in and went to stand by Khushi, holding her hand firmly in his...she just kept looking at down not sure of what to do or say...the family all said goodnight and parted to go to their rooms...

Arnav and Khushi just stood in the hallway, hands still entangled...Khushi looked up at Arnav preparing to say something when she noticed a bruise forming on his jaw...she looked at him with fearful and concerned eyes..."what happened Khushi?"...Arnav asked her worriedly, searching her eyes..."i was about to ask you that...what did he do?" Khushi said plainly knowing there was only one person who would be stupid enough to hit Arnav Singh Raizada.

"It's nothing Khushi, lets just go up...and go to sleep..." Arnav said... trying to avoid telling her anything...

Khushi nodded and they walked upstairs in silence. Once in bed, with dim candlelight filling the room, Khushi lay very still and afraid... expecting Arnav to make a move...he lay down next to her, leaned over, kissed her lightly and slowly on the lips and said, "i love you Khushi...more than anything or anyone..." returning to his side he took a deep breath and shut his eyes...she was scared of getting possessively swept up in passion again...and Arnav sensing that, wanted to show her his love a different way tonight...although Khushi had given herself to him before, he didn't want to take that gift for granted...so he kissed her lips softly, and with all the self control he could muster, pulled his lips away from his life's source, held her body close, and shut his eyes before she could see the heat emanating from them. This one act from her husband tonight brought tears to her eyes...she had felt his passion and love for her, but now she was feeling his respect and love for her...

In a room, just metres away...Shyam had called Anjali to his door...he spoke through it saying that he needed to go away to work, but that Arnav was so mad at the way he "over-reacted" toward Khushi, that he wasn't letting him out..."but it's late at night," Anjali started to say, "and you aren't well..." ..."rani saba, i have an important meeting out of town tomorrow that i had forgotten about during all the commotion happening here...you know that i'm only working to support our now expanding family..." Shyam said trying to sound sweet and endearing...Anjali held her small baby bump and smiled sadly...something didn't feel right about this...but let her uneasiness slide to the back of her mind as she unlocked the door...Shyam gently held her shoulder saying that he'd hurry home back to her side...and with that, he walked out...leaving Anjali watching at he casually sauntered down the stairs and out the door...she stood outside his empty room ...guilt rushed through her..."why do i feel that i have just committed a grave error... Something feels wrong. Something feels terribly wrong..."she thought, and slowly made her way toward her room... Her discomfort was expanding...

Khushi's eyes opened slowly to see the candlelight growing dim...

She felt her husbands breath lightly fanning the back of her neck...

Her eyes glanced toward the window to see the stars...

"Amma?..." she whispered..."i will try to not let fear rule my heart...but how do i stop the pain? It was easier to live when i felt nothing...but now...i'm scared to feel love...i'm scared to feel anything...every thought feels like a gunshot to my soul...i...i wish i could accept how everyone is treating me, but...i can't...what if it doesn't last again...what if i open my heart to all this love only to have it beaten down again...i wouldn't be able to survive it next time...I've barely survived it this time..." and with that she softly wept...but she didn't cry alone...Arnav had heard everything she said...he didn't say a word...just let his arm quietly hold her...he felt his heart stinging..."i will help you to trust in love again...you gave yourself to me, you let me hold your body and let my love for you override your senses...now i will love and protect your heart till it overflows with love...that is my vow to you Khushi..."
