Part 13

Something was disturbing him...he took the keys and sauntered out of the house... soon he was driving towards the main road...he didn't knew where he was going...he wanted to get rid of his feelings...he gulped the entire bottle of alcohol but that didn't help much...

he could hardly see the road clearly...there was storminess all around ...it was raining heavily...the weather was inclement...the more he thought about Chandni, the more faster he drove...

he was passing a steep turn when he saw someone standing in the middle of the road...the windscreen wasn't clear due to heavy rains …..he couldn't make out properly...all he could see was white dress from top to bottom...he tried to slow down but the car ran over the the woman... "oh no" ...he quickly stopped the car on the side of the road and stepped out... to his surprise there wasn't anybody around... without bothering himself much he started driving...he was dripping wet...

Kaka was surprised to find an old map lying under the crown in the box...he tried hard to study the map but it seemed very old, probably a hundred years old...the pictures, lines had faded...it wasn't a familiar language...but he knew there was something that this map was telling...

he looked at the clock...it was time for dinner and Veer hadn't come back yet...he was worried for him as the weather wasn't good... there wasn't a single star seen in the sky...

Chandni grasped her holy book tightly in her arms...she was scared...something made her feel uncomfortable...she couldn't understand what was happening with her... she felt as if she was fighting with her own self...

she was clueless about her being closer to Veer...there was something that was pulling her towards Veer that she didn't even realize she was standing so close to him, on the other hand there was entirely opposite feeling that made her dangerously scared, she felt insure.

It was difficult for her to decide her right and wrong...though as far as she knew Veer, he was nice person in front of her...

she touched her forehead, her cheeks that were blushing by his mere touch...the moment she imagined his hand on her cheeks, she closed her eyes, she could hear her own heart beat...

she imagined Veer closer to her...she smiled a little while her eyes were still closed then she saw her Grandmother, telling her about the past incident that happened years ago with her own Mother...Chandni froze at the thought, she opened her eyes "no...i won't let him come closer to me"

Veer reached home and went upstairs... Kaka watched him, he knew he's drunk and took his dinner to his room...

Veer lay on the bed...Kaka was not happy to see Veer in such condition... "come have your dinner..."

Veer didn't say anything... Kaka repeated again...but there was no response from him... Kaka helped him change his clothes and covered him with the blanket...

It was late night...

Veer was sleeping peacefully on one side...he rarely slept on his back...he had a habit of turning towards his right side while sleeping...

he could sense someone in his room though his eyes were closed...was that his dream or there was someone actually in his room...he didn't open his eyes...someone in white clothes came closer towards his bed...

he couldn't turn himself the other side, as if he was under some strong spell that wasn't allowing him to even budge...

he could see something more clearly, the same woman with white clothes whom he ran his car over, this time he could see her long hair...

Next moment she was lying on his bed just next to him...he could sense her...she was facing Veer's back...she came closer...her hair was falling in front of her eyes...he didn't turn to look behind, as she came closer to his neck ...he shouted loudly... "go away"..Veer's eyes were wide open as he woke up from the nightmare...

he was sweating... he looked around, there wasn't anybody...

Chandni heard his voice...she wasn't sleeping... without even thinking once she climbed the stairs to reach him... "Veer, are you alright?" she saw him sweating...

he picked up the glass, it was empty... "wait I will get some water" she quickly went down...

Veer rubbed his hand over his face...it was so cold outside and he was sweating so badly... "here please take it" Chandni gave him some water...

"thanks" he said and drank thirstily... she was about to leave when he called her "Chandni"

She turned behind to look "don't worry, nothing will happen...close your eyes and go to sleep" she said while coming closer to him... he smiled...she kept her hand on his hand for a second... ….. he felt relaxed... her touch was soothing for him...soon he went off to sleep... she smiled while closing the door from behind...

Next Day...

It was a bright day and Chandni had already left for the site...she spoke to the workers and arranged the daily tasks to be done... she planned the layout...most of the workers knew her already...they were happy to work with her...

After some time...

It was almost afternoon...she went all over the site to check everything was going smooth...

Kaka thought of waking Veer up, as he didn't eat anything since last night... he walked slowly "Veer...please wake up, its almost late afternoon..."

Veer opened his eyes...but he wanted to sleep... "what's the time Kaka?" he seemed drowsy...

Kaka smiled and placed his hand on his forehead "its 3pm...now wake up and eat something...i have to go at the site...Chandni is working since morning...i have to ask her if she would like to have lunch or not"

Veer got up immediately "what??? she's working since morning...and she didn't had lunch!!!...why???"

Kaka explained him about his busy schedule "i had so much this morning...i have sent Manohar at the site...now you get up and eat something..." he walked out of the room...

After some time...Veer was all ready, he came downstairs... "Kaka did you had your lunch?"

Kaka was packing some things for Chandni "yes I have, now I am leaving for the site...you eat your lunch..."

Veer saw him about to leave "wait Kaka...you look tired...you must rest...you are working since morning..."

Kaka was little surprised to see Veer so concerned... "thanks Veer...but I have to go anyway to deliver this box and"

Veer interrupted " don't worry, I will anyway go to the site and check some work...if you want I can deliver this box...you can rest."

Kaka was happy to know Veer is taking interest in this work... "i will be happy if you go and check the work at the site..." he handed the box to Veer, and walked towards his room...

She was standing near a tall tree with some papers in her hand... she looked extremely beautiful in her jeans and a small red top...she almost completed her report for the day... Veer saw her from far away... he stepped out of the car...his eyes didn't lay on anything else except Chandni...

she could feel his eyes on her...she glanced around and saw him...then immediately lowered her eyes, her heart skipped a beat, she already felt something strange...

he was observing her while walking towards her... "I know" he said while giving her the box...

Chandni didn't look at him "did you say something?"

Veer came closer...she looked at him...then looked back into her file...he took the file away... "to me and only to me...you love all the day and night"

Chandni didn't understood... "what are you...??"

Veer came closer to her ear "whether you say it or not...i know everything"

Chandni was completely nervous...she walked away towards the other side of the site...there wasn't anyone around...it was beautiful weather...

Pleasant winds were blowing silently while she was walking down the huge valley when she heard him behind her...he said loudly "what should I do, you don't tell me"

Chandni didn't look behind but her heart was beating faster as he came more closer to her...

he looked at her red top that made her fair waist visible as she walked... "you are hiding it from me …..its your fault"

Chandni stopped and turned to look at him...he came closer... "how do you like this place?...there is a small river just next to his valley...that's one of the beautiful surroundings..."

Veer smiled and came closer to her " to increase my restlessness across the limit...you are excellent in making words"

She started walking towards the river...there were huge trees on the either sides of the path towards the lake...Veer was at a little distance away from her.

He stopped and leaned against a tree... Chandni kept on walking...after few seconds she turned back and saw him standing under a tree and gazing at her...

She walked towards him "what happened...why did you stop here..??"

As she came closer... he hold her arm and pulled her towards himself... she looked at him... "you look in my eyes and make me restless" he whispered slowly... he could see her cheeks blushing...

She lowered her eyes "you give me pain by teasing me..." she said...

Veer touched her chin and lifted her face " I am sure that day will come soon,when I will sleep in your open hair" even though she knew what he meant...she didn't responded but looked in his eyes...

There was silence among them... Chandni diverted him to look at the river "look...we are almost there"

Chandni thought to herself "i can't come closer to you Veer...even though I know you are nice person...but I don't want to listen to my heart...i am here to complete a project and not get into any relation...i have to avoid you"

Veer looked at her while she was thinking and thought "one day I will get you, no matter how difficult you are...one day you will yourself come to me"
