Hi friends'. Extremely sorry for the delay'. I dint expect it to be so long.

Part 9

Shakti placed her laptop on the table'... She was at her dance studio at the academy'... She had finished with her rehearsals and was eager all day to chat with him'... But now she was nervous'... What will I tell him?... will he forgive me?... I had been so rude to him ... What if he is still mad?... what if he blames me for all that happened to him?... I don't deserve to be forgiven so easily but I'm still hoping he will ... I'll apologize as soon as I see him.

She switched on her laptop'... Rubbed her hands together'. She realized they were sweaty... Oh common!!... I'm not here to give an exam'... It's Kunwar afterall'... Y shud I be nervous'... If he scolds me I can obviously manao him. (smiles)

She quickly signed in her account...'. Oh wait I forgot to text him to come online'... She picked up her cell to send him a message...'. She glimpsed at her friend list'... And there he was..'. Already waiting online'. Awww kunwar!!... but then she frowned'... Hope he's waiting for me only'... Agar kisi aur ke saath chat kar raha hoga toh aaj uski maut!!

She dialed the video call and waited for him to answer...'. As soon as he answered, his face appeared on screen'... With a huge grin on his face (lagta hai full day woh grin hatta hi nahi).

He looked so adorable...'. her knees felt weak'... If she would have been standing she would have flopped down'... Then she noticed the bandage on his head and her eyes saddened.

Amar- hey Shakti... Khuch bologi nahi?... ya aise hi dekhti rahogi? (smile)

Shakti blinked and realized she had to talk to him and not just keep staring'. She cleared her throat'.

Shakti- hello Kunwar... How are you?

Amar- (laughs) oh cut the crap, Shaks'... Stop being so formal'... Interview dene nahi aayi ho.

Arre yaar, yeh ladka khuch bhi seriously leta hai?... and laughed.

Shakti- (Shook her head) Cartoon hi ho tum'... khuch nahi ho sakta tumhara.

Both laughed'... She loved the fact ke chahe kitne bhi miss understandings unke beech aa jaaye'... things never change between them... She could see he was on his hospital bed'... she knew he would be bored to death as he could never be in one place for long'... Har wakt masti'... Harr wakt bhag daud'... Just like a kid.

Shakti- toh kaise lag raha hai tumhare naye five star room main? (Giggle)

Amar (groan)- Ahh!!... Yaad matt dilaao'. Kitni boring jaga hai'. doctors kaise rehete hai yaar yahan??... thank god mera doctor banne ka sapna bachpan main hi shatter ho gaya tha.

Shakti (laughs)- tum?!!... Aur doctor?!!

Amar- (embarrassed) haan'... mujhe laga harr bacche ka sapna hota hai woh'... Kyun tumhara nahi tha kya at any point of time?

Shakti laughs harder.

Shakti- eww... never!!... I used to hate maths.

Both laugh'... But she dint miss the wince on his face.

Shakti (concerned)- kya hua Kunwar?... are you hurting?

She leaned forward near the screen'. And Amar's eyes widened'. He was imagining the same situation from his dream.

Amar- huh? (lost in his dream for a moment)

Shakti- I asked if your head hurts?

He shook his head'... Cleared his throat'.

Amar- hun no'... I'm fine'... Bus thoda sa... Jab head movements karta hun.

Shakti (gulped)- bataoge nahi kya hua?

Amar- chod na Shaks'... And u know best part I don't even remember most of it (laughs)

She smiled'... She knew he dint want to tell her'... Dint want her to get worried'... And he was purposely trying to avoid talking about their fight'... But she had to apologize.

Shakti- (closed her eyes) I'm really sorry for what happened the other day Kunwar'... I shouldn't have spoken to you like that'. Uske waja se tumhara yeh accident...

Amar was silent...'. She opened her eyes to see why he hadn't replied yet'... she saw him sitting back casually on the hospital bed and munching some silly chocolates and not reacting at all.

Shakti- (frowned) what?

Amar- what?

Shakti- (lil pissed) you are suppose to say something when someone apologizes.

Amar- hun?... acha ok' thanks for the chocolates.

Shakti- (confused) what?

Amar- you asked me to say something.

Shakti- Gosh Kunwar, tum itne annoying kyun ho?!!... main yahan tumse sorry keh rahi hun and you chose to completely brush it off. (fumed)

Amar straightened on the bed'.

Amar (sigh)- I'm sorry Shakti'... I really dint mean to brush you off'... I just don't want you to feel guilty about whatever happened'... It was not your fault'... Ok fine we fought'... But buss ho gaya na'... ab mere saath kya hota hai uss main how are you responsible?... and regarding the fight'... I'm sorry too'... I know I reacted like a typical male chauvinist'... I promise aage se tumhe tokunga nahi'. .. But haan I can't promise ke jo tum karogi woh main easily accept kar lunga'... Agar mujhe khuch acha nahi lagega toh main samajta hun ke mujhe tumhe khuch kehena ka poora huq hai.

Shakti had tears in her eyes'... I'm so very lucky to have him in my life.

Shakti- (cleared her throat) thank you Kunwar'... You are a sweetheart'... haan ofcourse tumhe poora huq hai... agli baar aisi galti karun toh khud saamne se maar khaane ke liye tumhare paas aa jayungi.

Both smiled looking into each other's eyes'... they were silent for a moment.

Amar- (blinked) btw yeh tumhare chocolates (showed her the one he was eating) are yummy'... Poora dubba abhi khatam karr liya'... Ek bhi nurse ko nahi diya.

She laughed'... Ek pal itna maturely baate karta hai, toh next moment wapas baccha bun jaata hai'... So cute.

Shakti- paagal

Amar just grinned showing all his teeth'... Awww!

She heard someone knock on his door and enter his room'... Amar looked up.

Amar (to the person)- arre abhi tumhare baare main hi baat kar raha tha'... Come here beautiful'... meet my friend'... (at Shakti) Shaks meet my new girlfriend'... Yeh nahi hoti toh main boredom ke maare kisika khoon kar leta.

Shakti frowned'. New girlfriend?... just then a smiling aged nurse appeared on the screen'... Shakti laughed'... Ofcourse... We are talking to Kunwar here'... He has to pheelao his pyar ka jaal... Be it on a cute simple old lady.

Amar- (put his arms around the nurse's shoulder)- hey beautiful, meet my friend, Shakti Mohan.

Nurse- (smiling) hello my dear'... I'm Sister Margaret.

Shakti- hello sister, nice to meet you'... how is Kunwar doing?

Nurse- other than irritating the entire staff he's doing absolutely fine.

Amar- hey!... Yeh kya?... maine kab tang kiya? (puppy face)

They all laughed'... the nurse pulled his cheek lovingly'... Shakti rolled her eyes'... here we go'... the old lady is completely smitten. (laughs)

Nurse (at Shakti)- no dear seriously he's absolutely fine'... In fact we just got all his reports which say he's fit as a horse'... And I've come to give one more good news'... (Looking at Amar) the doctor says you can be discharged by tomorrow'... I just have to get him to sign some papers and I'll parcel you off as soon as we can.

Amar- (making a sad face) bhej rahi ho mujhe?... mera kya hoga?

Nurse- (laughed)'... I'll miss you too Sweetu!

Shakti smiled'... They both looked so cute.

Nurse- (at Shakti) Dear, I have seen you somewhere before.

Amar- ofcourse you must have seen her'... She's "Shakti Mohan", the dancing diva of India!!... (Widening his eyes and putting both his palms on his cheeks dramatically) How can you not recognize her??!!

Shakti- (hit her head with her hand) Shushh Kunwar'... Stop it! (embarrassed)

Nurse- (embarrassed too) I'm so sorry dear'... I don't watch too much of TV'... But yes I remember seeing your photo in the papers'... Sorry I dint recognize you.

Shakti- (smiled) that's ok sister'... Please don't bother to what he says'... (glared at Amar) he's a big nautanki!

Nurse- ok please excuse me I have to go'. nice to talk to you dear.

Shakti- same here, sister'... Thank you for taking such good care of him'... I know he is a pain! (Giggle)

The nurse smiled and nodded'. ..She asked Kunwar to pack his bags after he was done talking to Shakti and she left.

Amar- Yay!!... I'm going home!

They laughed.

Shakti- ok, I think you should go pack.

Amar- what?! (panicky eyes)... noo!... talk to me.

Shakti- (laughed) arre baba'... Yahi hun'... U start packing'... We can still talk.

Amar- No'... packing can wait.

Shakti- (smiled) thik hai baba.

Amar- (looking behind her) kahan ho?... doesn't look like you are at home.

Shakti- haan woh academy main hun'... Aaj rehearsals jaldi ho gayi toh yahi ruki thi'... Thought I'll practice on my own later.

Amar- mujhe bhi dikaho na please.

Shakti- (confused) kya?

Amar- tumhara dance'... Kitne din ho gaye hai'... I haven't seen you perform (sad eyes)

Shakti- aww Kunwar'... Thik hai ruko.

She got up'... Adjusted her laptop screen where she could focus the camera on the dance floor'. And went to put on the music'... She took her position and the music started to play...

Amar placed his chin on his hand and leaned forward to watch her'... She danced like a Goddess'... the perfect poise'... the blazing moves'... her body floating with each beat'... She was breathtaking'... Her stunning eyes reflecting the deep passion for dancing'... For him the time freezes when she performs... It was like a drug'... One could never get enough of it.

The song ended'... Shakti got out of her trance'... She picked up a towel from her bag and walked back to the table'... She started to dab the towel on her forehead'... her face was flushed'... And she was panting'... the mere site of her turned him on.

Shakti- so?

Amar did not reply'... All he did was gape'... a drop of sweat rolled down from the side of her ear into the crook of her neck'... a pang of desire shot through his veins'... he wanted to hold her in his arms so he was close enough to plant hot kisses along the path where the droplet ended'... She brushed a few strands of hair from her face and tucked them behind her ear'... How he wished he was the one to do that'... He could feel her fragrance all around him'... he wondered if that was really possible'... he looked up into her confused eyes.

Shakti- Kunwar?

He immediately shook his head and got out of his stupor.

Amar- that was amazing Shaks'... You looked gorgeous'... I couldn't get my eyes off you... it was out of this world!!

She blushed and looked down'... She was trying to avoid his stare'... It made her conscious.

Shakti- mmm thanks (mumbled)

He realized she was uncomfortable'... He smiled'... He liked when he flustered her with compliments'... She looked adorable.

Amar- but something was missing.

Shakti- (confused eyes) what?

Amar- ME!! (laughs)

Shakti- huh!!... Show off!!... bahut sirr pe chadha rakha hai tumhare saare female fans ne tumhe... (laughs)'. .. Fans se yaad aaya'... Tum shoot kabse start kar sakte ho?

Amar- pata nahi'... Pehele yeh bandage toh nikal jaaye'... we don't want to spoil the continuity'... Lecce kya karte hai.

Shakti felt bad'... Whatever he says after all in a way she was responsible for what happened... Mere waja se sab suffer karenge. (sad eyes)

Shakti- toh kya tumne kal kissi ko ghar le jaane bulaya hai?

Amar- naa'... Abhi toh pata chala'... Aur waise bhi kya zaroorat hai'... I can go by myself.

Shakti- nahi ruko main kisi ko bolti hun'... Main wahan hoti toh khud aa jaati.

Amar- (smile) arre I will go baba'... Kisi ko khuch bolne ki zaroorat nahi'... Aur waise bhi mujhe pehele mere bike ki servicing ke liye jaana hai.

Shakti- Shut up Kunwar!... tum kum se kum 2 months ke liye apne bike ke baare main soocho ge bhi nahi.

Amar- oye!!... some respect here'... woh sirf ek bike nahi hai'... it has a name.

Shakti- (laughs) oh yes!... tumhari "Dhanno"

And they both remembered the time when he had first given her a ride on his new bike.

Flashback

He had been waiting for her outside her set'... It had been some months after DID and she was shooting for some TV commercial'... He wondered if he should call her'... they hadn't spoken in days... He had gone to Indore and she also had been busy with all the new job offers coming her way'... What if she dint want to see me?... maybe she has plans'... I should have asked her first'... He removed his cell from his pocket'... Just then he saw her come out of the gate'... She was carrying a heavy bag and she looked like she would pass out any minute'... He knew she would be adjusting to her heavy work commitments'... His heart went out to her'... He wanted to gather her in his arms and take her home'... And then she saw him standing far away leaning on his bike'.. a huge smile spread on her pretty face and she practically ran towards him.

Shakti- hey Kunwar'... Tum Indore se kab aaye??

She hugged him'... it was just a friendly hug'... but he couldn't help to notice the way her slim body fit into his'... Amar smiled'... All his doubts about her dint want to see him vanished.

Amar- aaj subha hi aaya'... Tumhe khuch dikhana tha.

Shakti (excited eyes)- kya?

Amar moved aside and pointed at a brand new bike.

Shakti- OMG!!... it's beautiful!!

Amar (smiled at her excitement)- wana go for a ride?

Shakti- duh!!... ofcourse I do.

She handed him her bag and went to admire the bike.

Shakti- it's such a s*xy color, Kunwar... I just love it!!

Amar grinned with pride.

Amar- She has a name too.

Shakti (laughs)- she??... a name?

Amar- yes, I call her "Dhanno"

She laughed harder.

Shakti- ewww... How cliche!!

Amar made a sad puppy face'... And she hugged him.

Shakti- she is great'... I love your Dhanno'... Congratulations!

Amar (grin)- thanks'... Chale? (sitting on the bike)

Shakti- yes please!

She sat behind him and held the rear suspension with both her hands'... He was disappointed'... Mujhe nahi pakad sakti thi?

He started the bike and immediately left the clutch making the bike to halt with a jerk'... She was pushed forward and she placed both her hands on his shoulders for support.

Shakti (laugh)- start main hi aisi halat hai, pata nahi aage kaise chaloge.

Amar smiled'... He dint care'... Atleast now she was close to him'... She kept one hand on his shoulder and slipped the other one round his waist to garb onto his side of the tshirt'... her face was so close, he could feel her breath on the back of his neck.

Shakti- Tumhari helmet?

Amar- nahi hai'... Buy karni hai.

Shakti- toh pehele tumhari helmet buy karenge fir ride pe jaayenge.

Amar- as you say, princess.

She laughed and pulled his ear.

Amar- ouuhh!!

Shakti- Mr. Casanova'. Chalo ab.

They went to a superstore where after a lot of fussing, Shakti finally picked out a helmet for him'... She was so proud of her choice'... She beamed all the way to the parking lot'... She looked like a kid who had just picked out the best toy from the lot'... she is a darling.

She made him wear the new helmet'... And off they went.

Amar- where do you want to go?

Shakti- Carters'. I'm hungry.

After enjoying their meal they headed back to his bike'... She ran before him and hopped on the front seat.

Shakti- I wana ride.

Amar- mad o wat!

Shakti- arre why not?'... Teach me.

Amar- don't you know, one should never ask a man for his vehicle'... He's very possessive.

Shakti- shut up'... (held him by his collar and pulled him behind her) and sit.

Amar- ok ok baba (sitting behind her)

He quickly explained the basics of riding a bike'... she pushed the self start button and looked back over her shoulder.

Shakti- wont you hold the handle with me?

He smiled and was happy to oblige.

He placed his arms around her and put his hands on her hands'... He was pressed so close to her back, he could feel the heat radiate from her body'... He put his chin on her shoulder'... He felt her shudder'... Is she feeling the same way?... Amar slowly turned his head till his lips were close to her ear and whispered'.

Amar- (whisper) now let go of the clutch very slowly.

Shakti- hmmm (sounded like a moan)

But she suddenly let go off the clutch'... And the bike nudged to a stop'... She pushed his hands back and got off the bike.

Shakti- (embarrassed) I cant'. I give up... You only ride baba.

He noticed she wouldn't look in his eye... And she got on the bike behind him'... she was quite on the way home'... but he could feel the flutter of her heartbeats'... They reached her building and she got off quickly, gathered her bag and mumbled a quick goodnight and left'... Amar shook his head and smiled'. Yes!!... There was some progress after all.

Present

Shakti- I hope you heard me.

Amar- huh? (confused)

Shakti- no more bikes for you until you're completely ok.

He smiled and nodded'. He loved that possessive tone.

Amar- yes princess (wink)

They both smiled staring at each other.

There was a knock on his door and he looked up.

Amar (to the person)- oh hi

Girl- hi Kunwar

Shakti frowned'. Who was that?... nobody calls him Kunwar other than me.

Girl- the nurse told me you are getting discharged'. I'm so glad.

Amar (smile)- thanks Anjali.

Shakti's frowned deepened'. Anjali?!!... yahan kya karr rahi hai??... and how dare she call him Kunwar!!
