Part 4 - Again
Never in a millions years had she thought she would come face to face with this boy again, for he wasn't a man yet. He lacked wisdom of his years, was juvenile in behavior. He would get angry at slightest of things, but that also meant that he could easily be made happy. All he really needed was a toy to play with and he was as good as gold.
As she continued looking into his deep chocolate-coloured orbs, which surprisingly were fazed themselves, she felt a storm rage up in her body. How dare he touch her! She would have rather liked to plunge to her death than be in his arms again. His arms were a place far worse than hell for her. Hell she had been to! Hell was what she was trying to come out of. However, he was back again, but back again for what? She had already once thrown away her life for him. She had nothing more to give. Nothing. She didn't even have tears left. He had stripped her of all. Her train of thought was interrupted when Arnav finally decided to speak up.
"Are you ok?" he said completely ignoring the daggers in her eyes. There were to be expected. He was no fool to expect her to show any sort of affection towards him.
Khushi pushed him as she regained her balance on the ground after being gently set down by him.
"Are you okay?" he asked once again.
This time around Khushi had finally decided to answer his question. No words came out, only the sound of resonating from the movement of her hand meeting with Arnav's stubble laden face. She slapped him. She slapped him with all the might she had.
There he stood in all his perfection holding his hand to his face where Khushi's hand had just touched him. If Arnav had felt guilt before, it was all gone in matters of seconds, for that moment anyhow...
"What the--- Khushi?? Is this how you are going to thank me for saving your life or let alone greet me after a year," Arnav said clearly surprised. He certainly did not expect hugs but he felt her reaction was not justified ESPECIALLY after the fact that he had just saved her life.
Khushi could not bring herself to speak. She did not trust her words. If she opened her mouth, she was afraid she would break down in tears. She did not want him to see in her that pathetic state. In fact, he never had. She never let him see how broken she was when after dating her for 6-months, after making her fall in love with him, he had told her, it was all just casual. "Casual," how many times had Khushi laughed or cried after dwelling upon his words. She did not know, nor she wanted too. It would be too big a task because all she did for the past year was cry. Cry in the solace of her room. If there was any one who had the slighted idea how many tears she had shed was only her Pillow, her beloved Pillow, her only companion in her heartbreak.
She never let the world know how she felt. Her heart may have shattered into a million pieces, but she was whole on the outside. Her pain was not for the world to see. Her family back in Lucknow thought she was having gala time in Paris. Her friends in Paris, though acknowledged her rough state for a bit but overall assumed her to be okay. She was more than glad for that.
World did not need to see her agony, it did not need to see her pain. He pain was her own, the only treasure she had left. And she had it in abundance.
Just when she had decided that she would empty her vaults, it seemed as though she had won a fortune all over again with this encounter.
Up next- Friends...😲😲 Never...😡😡
End Note: Teehee! I know I know! Not the interaction you guys expected! What are your predictions for the next chapter. I would love to know your thoughts! Do let me know! Lotsa luv!
