Mayank glared at samrat who replied back," shaadi na mayank ek eternal fight bhi hain"

" tho phir tum shaadi kar kyun rahe ho?"

"kyunki chashmish ko bharosa hain shaadi par aur mujhe chashmish par"

"samrat! Tum..."

"mayank, main jaantha hoon ki tum aur nupur khush ho shaadi ke baad. Aur mera khayal shaadi ke baare mein tum dono ko dekhkar hi badle hain. Par jab bachpan se ek divorced couple ke child rahoge tho shaadi mein belief nahin hoga." samrat spoke matter of factly

"samrat, tumhaare parents ka divorce kyun hua tha?" hesitant mayank

" pata nahin! Bas yeh jaantha hoon ki har day aur night un dono ka fight chaltha rehtha tha aur jab divorce hua tab mujhe mom ke paas nahin bhejha gaya" samrat s voice still held atrace of bitterness

"tum jaanne ki koshish nahin ki?" samrat shook his head negatively

"Tum jaanthe ho mayank, main unse baat..."

"kyun nahin karthe?Tumhaari shaadi ke liye hardly 3 weeks baaki hain aur tumne apne parents ke saath baat nahin kiya" frustratedly

"unko meri koi ...chodo mayank"

"kyun yeh abhi bhi personal baat hain?" mayank asked sarcasm creeping in his tone

"mayank, meri bad luck hain ki mere parents aur mere beech kuch personal si baat nahin hain and they dont care bas " samrat replied like it was the absolute truth," full stop. The end okay" but his voice held the feeling of betrayal

"nahin samrat. Tumhaare mom ne kitne baar phone kiya hain baat karne ke liye? Aur tumhaare dad ne bhi message bheje the na suhaani ke through."

"wo sirf isliye kyun ki ...main kisiki permission ke bina hi shaadi karrahaan hoon " samrat was getting upset

"aur tumhe lagtha hain wo sahin hain?" mayank persisted

"galat bhi nhain hain" samrat retorted back

"samrat, jab accident hua tha, tab tumhaari mom tumhaare saath thi. Yaad karo.aur suhaani ki shaadi bhi unki blessings ke saath hi ...aur tumhe kyun yakeen hain ki wo care nhain karthe. Unki apni zindagi hogi par uska matlab yeh nahin ki ..." samrat cut him short

"mayank jis baare mein mujhe kuch karna nahin hain hum us baare mein baat kyun karrahe hain?" samrat tried changing topic, " tum bolo tumne second project nahin liya na. Good..."

"topic change mat karo samrat" mayanks voice was raising a bit

"tum itna mere parents ko support kyun karrahe ho? Wo tumhaare mom jaise nahin hain" samrat spoke back

"ma maa hoti hain" samrat made a you dont understand look," blame karna bohot asaan hain. But tum socho, tumhe unki fikar hain? Kya tumne ek baar bhi tumhaare dad ya mom ke sath contact mein rehne ki koshish ki hain. Aur kya jab bhi tumne unse kuch maanga hain unhone tumhe diya nahin hain? "

"tum kehna kya chahthe ho mayank? " samrat said folding his arms across his chest clearly angry though he didnt know at whom," aur main kyun tumse yeh sab kuch sun rahaan hoon?"

"Tumhaara bohot saare friends honge but parents sirf ek hote hain. Jitna unhone tumhareliye kiya hoga wo shayad tumhe yaad bhi nahin. Agar wo divorced hain tho yeh undono ke beech ka problem hain. Tum kyun judge karrahe ho unko? Jitna tumhaare mom se suffer kiya hoga tumhe paida karna keliye, ya jitna tumhaare dad tumhaare liye sapne dekhe honge...tum imagine bhi nahin karsakthe..."

"nahin mayank tum unse mile nahin ho. tum imagine nahin karsakthe.Unhe sirf apne status ki ya money ki padi hain" samrat smiled wistfully, " aur kisi.."

"jiske paas paison ki kami hoti hain samrat unse poochon paison ki kya importance hain" mayank cut him short

samrat sighed ," tum jo apne baby ke baare mein soch rahe ho mayank wo alag hain. Tum shayad apne aapko compare karrahe ho...par mere dad ko sirf ek son chahiye tha jo unke business ko handle karsakhe aur mom ko apna independence. "

"so what? Dad ka haq bantha hain apne bete ke liye kuch sochne ka. Atleast tumhe pata tho hain ki unhein chahiye kya. Mujhe tho..." mayank stopped catching the sudden lump in his throat and samrat stood staring at him his mind rewinding all that he had heard from mayank and taking in mayanks efforts to control his own muddled thoughts and felt his resolution of not bothering about his parents weaken

"samrat, jo hamare paas hain uske hum value nahin karthe. Aur jab wo hamere paas nahin hota tab unka value laganahin sakthe."

" dekho mayank...i understand tum kya kehna chah rahe ho aur kyun keh rahe ho but ...ab...ten twelve years ke baad...its difficult "

" ek baar try tho karo. Suhaani hain tumhaare help ke liye. Gunjan hain...aur hum sab bhi. ek wonderful chance hain phir se shuruaat karne ka."

samrat nodded hesitantly and both moved towards each other simultaneously for a hug.

"yeh kya ho rahaan hain?" nupur and gunjan at the door

"ab kyun ro rahin ho nupur?" all four of them are at the table eating the biriyani which amba has made," yeh teeka hain?"

" tum mujhse sab kuch chupaathe ho mayank"

samrat and gunjan exchanged glances.

"maine kya chupaaya hain tumse?"

"ek tho yeh ki tum rohan ki us miniskirtwaali sister ko jaanthe ho aur phir yeh ki tum dono ke beech jagda hua tha. Agar tum dono ladthe ho, tho main bataadeti hoon, main aur gunjan tum dono ka saath nahin denge"

the guys exchanged glances , samrat sniggered. Gunjan nudged him warningly.

" hum dono ke beech koi ladaayi nahin hui nupur " mayank explained patiently

gunjan moved behind her chair and hugged nupur s neck from behind.

"di tum kyun itna upset ho rahe ho? Koi problem nahin hain " nupur patted her cheeks and smiled

"haan gunjan. Main bhi kya kya sochke darr jaathi hoon." she looked from mayank to samrat with a smile and continued," par ek baat hain jab tum dono ki zor si awaaz sunaayi di tab mujhe laga ki yeh kaise hosaktha hain? Tum dono karan arjun nahin ho, jai aur veeru ho." she continued seriously piling her own plate with more of the biriyani,"aur jai veeru tho kabhi ladthe nahin na. Jab tak zindagi thi tab tak dono ne ek doosre ka saath diya tha aur jab mauth aayi tab bhi..." she said watching the movie in her mental screen

mayank who had been listening to her with a sarcastic smile suddenly frowned," tum hamesha galat hi kyun bolthi ho nupur? Yahaan koi jai nahin hain naahin ki veeru. Yeh sab kya bakwaas laga rakha hain " he was harsh and sounded irritated

'mayank!" 'jiju" both samrat and gunjan stopped him shocked at his behavior

nupur stared at him without any expression for a second , then said," tum na mayank aaj kal mujhpe kuch zyaada hi gussa karne lage ho. pata nahin main pregnant hoon ki tum! Najaane hamara bachha kya soch rahaan hoga tumhaare baare mein! " and continued to eat hastily

Mayank turned to her guiltily and caught sight of a small tear at the corner of her eye," sorry nupur. god knows ki main kyun itna stupidly behave karrahaan hoon " he placed his hand on hers . She looked up at him and seeing the genuine guilty feeling reflected in his eyes melted.

" aaj ke liye chalo maaf kiya " she squeezed his hands and placed a spoon of rice in mouth

"arre waah Mrs Sharma itni jaldi maangayi! kuch tho sathana tha na nupur" samrat teased her

"kya kare samrat. agar bacche ke baap ko sathaoongi tho usko achaa nahin lagega na. isiliye sahna padtha hain'' she replied dramatically and continued to mayank," waise agar tumhe jai-veeru nahin banna hain, tho teek hain, karan arjun hi banjao. Mujhe tho wo bhi bohot pasand hain. Itna badakne ki kya zaroorat hain?"

Samrat and gunjan looked from one to the other and burst out laughing.

hi all of you. for those of you wondering why samrats here- idk why i always felt samrats family wasnt explored well enough so ...my take on trying to combine it with this. but i wont continue with sam s story.
