It was almost midnight and eating gunjan's head for more than an hour, nupur finally sat down o prepare for her test. She sat down with full preparation ' her book, pens, pencils, eraser, sharpener, highlighter, note pad, a cup of coffee and a bowl of candies to randomly chew.

She started her preparation with every bit of enthusiasm in her, loudly memorizing her syllabus, she was unaware when her father was quietly admiring this cute and rare sight of his daughter.

"not bad Miss Bhushan", he said to make her aware of his presence and as expected, seeing her father standing on her room door, she threw away the pen and squeaked, " papaaa!", she jumped down the bed and Sashi Bhushan opened his arms to welcome her daughter's warm hug.

"I missed you so so so sooo much, ap kab aye?", she said it all in one breath and Mr Bhsuahn kissed the top of her head, "I missed you to my doll, bus abhi aya hon"

"you brought my things?", she instantly asked and shaking his head Mr bhuhan picked up the bag from the floor, "here you go ma'am, everything as you demanded"

"Yayyy!",she hugged him again, "you are the best papaaa"

She opened the bag and started admiring her gifts while her father admired the books on her bed, "so my princess was studying", he asked affectionately and instantly a frown appeared on her face, "yes papa, I have a test tomorrow", she said indifferently and bent down on her gifts.

"hmmm", he said picking her book, "general knowledge!, how is your preparation going nupur?,

"good papa,", she said with a smile, "I think I'll score well"

"that is great, means Mayank is gelling with you well right?", he asked enthusiastically , throwing Nupur in deep silence as what to answer. All those ego clashes and taunts flashed her mind and her anger rose, but she smiled, "yes papa, he is a nice person, very hardworking and honest", she said,

"I knew it", a proud smile graced Sahshi Bhsuhan's face, "my colleague, who had been his teacher, recommended him, he .. .

"umm papa, lets go have dinner na, I am so hungry and I am sure you also are", she dragged her father to the dining table, because having dinner again was acceptable, but she could not bear her father praising that arrogant, good for nothing man in front of her for a thousandth time!!.

The whole staff praises you mayank", Samrat led out a cold sigh and looked at mayank helplessly, "you definitely have some magic"

"I work hard, that is it", mayank replied coldly and got back to his calculations.

"yeah yeah I know, your old, work hard and get success formula", samrat shook his head and started his tries to memorize the formulas he was doing since the past hour.

"btw mayank , what about your tuitions", he asked excitedly, "I heard you go to teach the great Sashi Bhsuhan's only daughter",

"yes I do,", he replied coldly and so used to his cold replies since the past 3 years of this bachelor degree, he wasn't amazed so quickly threw the next question, "I know you do, tell me about your experience dude, how is the girl, as in rich and arrogant?'.

How much he wanted to say a yes and vent out his anger but controlled, "she is an average student, can get better if she works hard, otherwise satisfactory",

"very funny!!", samrat slapped his forehead, "I am asking how is SHE?", his tone was fun filled and mayank passed him a glare, "what do you mean by this?", he asked in his most terrifying voice and samrat sighed, "nothing, nothing my innocent roommate, nothing, carry on!!". He shook his head and got back to his work, and Mayank also resumed his calculations.

"I so wish I also get to teach someone so rich", samrat said suppressing his giggle and this time mayank dropped his pen, "Thank the Almighty that you have your father who thinks his children's education is his responsibility and thus pays your fee, thank AlMighty that you don't have to work over time to carry on your education.", his eyes went wild and samrat bit his lip, "hey mayank, I was just joking .. I ..

"don't even joke about all this, and dare you ever be ungrateful of your life in front of me", he said strictly and with this took his books and left the room while samrat sighed , "I should have been careful".

It was 3 am, when finally being satisfied with her preparation, she closed her books and lied down, completely tired and exhausted, "damnit Mayank Sharma!, you'll have to pay!, I have never studied this much in my life!, but just to shut your mouth I have to work this hard", she huffed and picked up her cell phone and switched on the radio, "they better be airing something interesting", she glared at the phone and tuned the radio to find something interesting when her fingers stopped at the following words,

The radio voices coming from the adjacent room were forcing mayank to get up from the hostel corridor and make his way back to his room, but the building stress in his mind made him sit there and enjoy the melody for a while..

The things we did, the things we said

Nupur smiled and cuddled in her blanket, flowing in the feel of the song, it made her forget her stress and anxiety.. it made her forget everything, except for the underlying dreams in her heart. She closed her eyes to bask in the feeling more.

As long as time goes on

Although not a believer, the words made him smile, although not a dreamer, these words made her sigh.
