Khushi could hardly control the upbeat dhak dhak of her heart as she ran out of the Raizada Mansion. For some time she continued to walk thinking about all that had happened today. She regretted her outburst at Arnav regarding the hair band. Why hadn't she realized it before, she had been with that creep Shayam in his room and then had practically been all over Raizada Mansion with her dori like that! A horn broke the train of thoughts and brought her out of the reverie. "Jiji!" she remembered suddenly that she was supposed to do a quick drop-the-clothes job while she had taken her time and had pulled another sanka-devi act! What was she thinking? Clearly nothing, she told herself as she got in the auto.
Arnav stood confounded at the door totally taken aback by what Khushi had just said! "I am not okay! How dare she say that? What was she trying to imply?" he thought angrily. "Am I okay? What am I doing these days?" he trailed off into another train of thoughts as he turned around to walk to the rooftop, as his favorite haunt, his pool had been taken over. Ever since he had danced with Khushi he had been behaving oddly, thinking weirdly and most definitely behaving in a very bizarre way. He had actually been flirting with Khushi Kumari Gupta, an art that he was a pro at in college, always a smooth player but life had taught him hard lessons and he hadn't dabbled with it for so long now. "Khushi Kumari Gupta! You will drive me totally insane one day!" he though with his teeth gritted all the while pacing on the rooftop. "Why am I doing this? Do I have feelings for her? Why do I care so much about the fact that ussay farak parta hai k nahi?" He suddenly froze as a thought slowly crept up in his mind.
Back at home Khushi spent an hour with Jiji as she had promised herself that she won't let her riotous feelings get the better of her and ignore her dear sister about o leave the house. Another reason was that she actually didn't want to think about it anymore! However, the moment she was alone in her room, the thoughts came back and she thought about how she stood at the door with Arnav blocking her exit. Oh how she wanted to kiss him lightly on his cheek and truly thank him for being ASR, who does things without any inhibitions. "OMG!" she blushed at her own thoughts! Buaji's sanka devi calls were beginning to show their effect, she was becoming one she thought as she shot up from the bed and starting pacing in her room. "Parmeswariii are you ready for the Havan or not or shall I come to help!" screamed Buaji from the sitting room. "Coming Buaji" said Khushi as she rushed out only to get another round of shrieks and screams as she hadn't changed! "Oh leave her," said Garima as she tried to pacify buaji and signaled Khushi to hurry. "We will go first and she can come on her own ok?" Garima asked Buaji who agreed all too quickly. Eveyone left for the RM and told Khushi to change and come soon.
Arnav shrugged his shoulders and went down not wanting to think any more about what had just hit him. Walking into the lounge he realized that everyone from the Gupta family had arrived. He looked around for Khushi. Anjali noticing this poked nani and walked towards him. "Who are you looking for Chotay?" she asked cheekily. "hari Parakash" replied Arnav with all seriousness not wanting them to know anymore than they already did. " I have a headache and if I can get a cup of coffee that'll be good Di." He continued with his mission "throw them off track". "Oh no chotay did you take your medicines on time?" asked a totally worried Anjali who couldn't bear to see his Chotay in any sort of pain while Arnav got want he wanted, only for some time though he knew. He had to ensure that he throws them completely off the tracks otherwise both Di and Nani were enough to drive him up the wall. "Where is khushi bitiya?" he heard Nani ask Buaji and he paused and was all ears for Bua's answer, " Oh Sanka devi is totally out of control, she took hours in her room and didn't even change. Now she is going to come on her own." He immediately turned around and went to the kitchen, "Di Aman just called to ask me to have a look at the office renovations, I'll be back in some time" he lied to Anjali. "But chotay wat about the havan?" asked Anjali. With a raised eybrow Arnav looked at her as if trying to make her realize a very obvious answer. "O yes its u I forgot, you don't believe in all this, my mistake. Go, but come back quickly" anjali smiled.
Khushi stood in front of the mirror lost in her thoughts again. She couldn't stop thinking about what had happened a day before. How the laard Governer had kissed her and she hadn't reacted at all! Why didn't she get angry, she had thrown hot tea on him when she though he had held her dupatta and yesterday he had not only done that but also that! She couldn't even think about it. On sangeet day too he had taken off her hair clutch and she had stood frozen to that spot. Agitated she turned around to walk straight into Arnav. With a start she stepped back and could only stare at him unable to speak.
"You know what your Bua is so right in calling you sanka-devi," said Arnav with snide. "What do you mean?" inquired Khushi angrily, " Who are you to call me sanka-devi! And what are you doing here? In my room!" she ranted on. "Enough Khushi Kumari Gupta you don't stop once your train takes off!" came a curt reply from Arnav, "FYI your main door was wide open welcoming anyone who would please to come and not only enter your room but to take away everything you have!" continued a peeved Aranv. All of a sudden Khushi started to countdown from 10. "What the'..! What are you doing?" interjected Arnav. Taking a deep breath khushi looked up at Arnav with a little yet nervous smile, "wooo hum ' I am trying to relax myself, I was startled on seeing you, you took me by surprise!" she said quietly in a calm way.
"if you are ready then let's go," said Aranv huskily affected by the soft expression on her face. "Oh you shouldn't have bothered I would have taken an auto!" came a quick reply. "You don't need to take an auto at this time of the day, all dressed up, do you have no idea of the kind of lechers we have on roads these days!" came a curt and decisive answer. His veiled concern further softened Khushi's heart when she remembered the hair band thing that had happened. She quickly turned around to hide her feelings.
"What the'.. Are you ready or not Khushi? Am I ever going to get a straight reply from you any time soon!" exclaimed a totally irked Arnav. Taking a deep breath Khuushi turned around, looked up at him and said, " Sorry, I am sorry." "Khushi Kumari Gupta are you apologizing for not answering on time! Are you okay?" asked an amazed Arnav. "Nahi, hum subah..wo jo aap nai aaj'''.hamari dori'' hamai pata nai tha'.," came a flusterd reply and she continued as she turned again, " I am sorry for lashing at you like that! I just have to wear my jewellery and I'l be ready" she almost sprinted to her dresser. With hands that were shaking she managed to put on her jhumkaas but couldn't manage the necklace as she could see Arnav's reflection in the mirror and he was looking at her with that endearing expression that had set her heart fluttering. Her eyes opened wide when the reflection started to move towards her and didn't stop at that but raised his hands and clasped the necklace around her neck. Yes she felt light but it looked correct, as if it was meant to be like this. As if in a trance khushi's hands went down and she turned around and softly thanked him. "Shall we go?" he asked as he moved away only to be stopped by khushi who lightly held his hand and pulled him. Getting on tiptoes she lightly brushed her lips against his cheeks and went out quickly while saying, "This one too is not for the bet!"
