i can relate it with the concept...

hats off to your titles... i always loved the titles of your FFs...

purple haze... sandstorm... Dew and the mist... break point... Dancing mirrors... bougainvillea... shifting sands...

and now Amanita... superb!!!!!

you know why it seems quite familiar to me..

myself a doctor of pharmacy...

and i have learned it a number of time during my course...

chapter 2 - I want to see her again...

Next Day

He got up, and opened the window. It was calm now...very calm...the snowing had stopped. He could still see some flakes floating. But it was very pleasant morning, he could see the snow dazzling.

'Good Day ahead!' He uttered to himself.

Today, YES! it will be good day. The sunny weather was giving him the confidence. Yesterday, so many incidents happened. Morning, he saw that strange dream. Then he got delayed for the office, then in fireline with boss...snow storm... and then he met that strange girl 'Geet' but today everything will be fine. He was now feeling very sure.

He got ready fast, reached his office on time, and as he got inside the lift. He could see Pinky standing, she smiled at him. He looked at himself in the lift's mirror but could not find anything strange with him. He smiled back at Pinky and uttered to himself.

'Yes, everything is normal today.'

His confidence was now high and he hummingly went to his desk, opened his laptop and then checked his calender. Yes, he has meetings but then 'All is Well' he reminded himself and made himself busy with the work...

After sometime, he looked around and murmered again...'Everything is normal till now'

He then sighed, closing his eyes...'Maan what are you doing? Whom you are trying to console? Since morning how many times you are reminding yourself. You know it very well nothing is normal inside you.'

He got up with a jerk and came inside the washroom. He splashed water on his face, looked at the mirror. His eyes were red, his hair was disshelved, and his beard had grown more. He closed his eyes, trying to control the random emotions running through and then he could see her face, her red lips, her pale face...her jet black straight hair... He opened his eyes with a jerk.

Why he is thinking about her?

At lunch time

He was trying hard to get into the conversation of Pinky and Rohit, his 2 buddies at this office. They were standing on the street nearby, waiting for the the burgers they had ordered. Maan was always a silent bystander, but today he was not at all with them, His mind was getting drifted again and again to that girl. He was feeling restless, he wanted to know more about her. But then yesterday, she just left him thirsty.

'Maan, where are you?'

He looked at Pinky, as she handed him the Burger.

'Maan, something troubling you?'

He shook his head...he didn't know what to share with them.

'Maan, speak out.' Pinki rolled her eyes.

'Nothing...Pinky. I gave lift to a girl last night. I was just thinking about her.'

'Lift? Maan, are you out of your mind? You know how risky it is on Highways?'

'I know it, but then she really needed help.'

'So, now what are you thinking about her?' Pinky was now curious

'Nothing...she was beautiful', he finally could not hold within himself.

Pinky teasingly looked at him, 'So Maan, finally you also met someone...'

'No nothing serious...I don't know anything about her except that she is Geet.'

"Geet? Hmm..." Pinky again rolled his eyes.

He decided to keep mum, Pinky...he can never be sure.

Evening

He looked outside, before taking his bags. Yes, the weather is still sunny. It should make him happy but then he realized he was not feeling it, he suddenly lost hopes...of meeting her. He shrugged off all thoughts, "Maan, are you associating her with stormy weather? Just chill, and forget her.You may not meet her again in your life time."

He smiled and started his car. He decided to put on loud music, he has to take her away from his thoughts...As his car crossed the station where he had dropped her last evening, he couldn't help himself but stopped it for a moment.

Inside, he knew he was waiting for her to emerge from the station. He was not sure why ? But he just waited...waited...and then finally gave up...

'Maan...you are hoping too much...'

He started his car, and as he looked ahead, he was startled. She was standing in front.

Chapter 3: Wow ! I met her

Maan looked at her, astound. She was dressed in black T shirt and Pants, with her white overcoat...he looked at her face...her red lips, her fair pale skin and and her jet black hair was flowing; he was mesmerized by the look and lost his voice...

She came closer to him, her eyes smiled at him and he slided down the window.

'Hi, you here?'

He nodded, and lied... 'I came to drop a friend here.'

She didn't say anything but gave an un-believing look to him. He quickly covered it up, 'Why don't you come inside ?Do you mind coffee with me?' and he opened the car door for her.

She smiled and came inside the car, he could feel his eyes brimming. He tried hard to control them, scared inside what she might feel about him. He then drove to the nearest coffee cafe.

The cafe was very crowded but then they manage to get hold of the coffee and seats also. He took off her jacket as they made them selves confortable on the sofa. Both of started sipping the coffee, he was feeling un-comfortable with the silence between them.

Finally he decided to break the silence...

"Geet, I hope you didn't face any problems last night."

She nodded.

"Geet, Where do you live?"

"New Jersey, Seane Township."

"Oh! I also stay there, but I never saw you."

"Oh...so we meet now." She smiled again, and took her hair back,the big oval ring dangling touched her slender neck, he could not help noticing the mole on her fair skin. ( GB- The mole is back ;-))

"Maan, what you do?"

He broke his gaze, "I am working at Global Consulting, at Manhattan. I am here in USA for last 2 years."

"Oh, so your family?"

"They are in Delhi, India."

"Delhi...? So you are married?"

"Oh No!" He was fast to deny it. He could see, her eyes were very eager, restless...and before he could think, she threw another question.

"Oh, so your family means...?"

"My parents, my brother Karan, my sister Meera and then my sweet GrandMa, I miss all of them. What about you...?"

She became very silent...she lowered her eyes..."I don't have anyone in my life. My parents are dead and I am alone in this world. I envy you."

He was stunned, he could not say anything. He simply stared her, her eyes were teary. He wanted to console her but then something inside stopped him, he decided to change the topic.

"Geet, so what you do?"

"I am looking for a job. I was working at a restaurent, but was fired last week." She laughed, and he smiled back at her.

She acknowledged, "Yes..I am in real need of job."

He hesitatingly asked her, "What kind of job you are looking for...I mean, Can I be of any help?"

She stared him, "I am not that educated. I can only work as a waitress..." She again laughed.

But that didn't stop him..."No, tell me..."

"Maan, I don't need your help." she abruplty cut his request, he felt helpless. She then droped her gaze to the coffee, silently started sipping it...slowly...completely engrossed in herself.

He didn't knew how to break the silence. He anxiously looked at her, but then was scared to break the deep silence between them. Later, he paid the bills and they came out. He didn't wanted to leave her so soon, wanted to know more about her but then her deep silence...he was not sure if he should ask her...but then he asked her...

"Shall I drop you?"

He hesitatingly looked at her...not sure...but then she smiled and he felt the blood again rushing back in his body and his eyes smiling...She came inside the car, made herself comfortable...He decided not to look at her but then couldn't stop himself from glancing at her here and then. She then took out a red scarf from her purse; tied her long hair loosely.

She then switched on the music, his CD of mantra chants started, he moved his hands to change it but she stopped him.

"I like it."

He was now curious, "Have you ever been to India?"

She stopped humming, stared him for some time and then firmly looked at him..."Long time ago...But now surely would love to."

He smiled, "Yes, you should visit India once."

She smiled back at him, nodding. She then made herself again busy with the music...humming softly.

He was now feeling very happy inside. He felt like winning a battle...Yes! She is now confortable with him...but he has to know more about her...He concentrated on his driving, but inside he wanted very much that they don't reach soon...he just wanted the moment to freeze...she in his car...enjoying herself and he gazing her...but then...

Suddenly she shouted..."Stop...I have to get down here..."

He looked outside, it was very dark...and the area looked deserted...barren.

"Geet, here...?"

"Yes...just stop it. "

She bent, kissed him lightly on the cheeks and then swiftly she disappeared. He was confused, He started the car again and then he noticed, her scarf was lying on the seat. Mesmerized, he looked at it and kept it in his pocket.

"Yes, Today was indeed a good day..." he murmered to himself and accelarated his car.

Next day at office

'Hey Maan! what's up...? Looking very happy ?' Pinky hushed in his ears as she passed by his desk.

He smiled back at her...Pinky stared back at him

'Maan...Smiling ? Are you not going to tell us...? We are childhood friends...'

'Yes...but there is nothing.'

'Don't tell me...I don't believe you.'

He looked at her,... ' I met her...yesterday again.'

'Again..? Where ?'

He didn't say anything...Pinky stood there for some more time and then...she came closer to him.

'Are you coming for Christmas Party...? Why don't you bring her..? We will also see who is she...?'

He looked at her...'Yes...sounds good..' but then he remembered, he forgot to take any contact number and he was restless...

'Maan...what have you done...? You should have at least asked for it...?'

He decided to goto tube station again, may be he will meet her there.

1. Do google search to know what ' Amanita ' means😃
2. No updates on sat/sun
