Part 5

He gave her a kiss on her forehead. Maan held Geet's hand as they exited the van. The limo was parked outside. He smiled at Geet. Geet looked scared and worried. They both sat in the limo.

'Geet why are you worrying?' He asked as he gently pulled her to the limo. Geet landed against his chest and looked into his eyes and saw possessiveness and eyes only for her. There were so many questions in her head. She knows its not lust otherwise Maan would have let her go. It was much much more. Obsession and love all mixed was showing in his eyes. Geet sat next to Maan silently as the driver drove them towards the well known streets that Geet grew up on. They were driving back to her house. Geet eyes lit up as she saw the streets and looked at Maan with question and hope that maybe he was letting her go.

'We are going to your house Geet' He looked at her hopeful eyes. Geet smiled slightly knowing that she will finally meet her family after days. Was Maan going to leave her here? She can live her life again. But his eyes showed a different story.

'are we…' Geet started to ask. Maan knew was she was thinking.

'Geet Darling I Love you so much. I can't see you in tears all the time missing your family. Afterall they are my family too' Maan said stroking her hair. 'pag phere Geet. Remember. Mummyji called today and asked us to come for pag phera. They will be soon leaving to USA you see Geet. I thought you should meet your family one last time before they leave' He kissed her head. Geet looked at him. For some reason she didn't know what to feel. Angry because her family will be miles away from her or happy because he is letting her meet them and giving Siya a lifetime opportunity.

'Thank you' Geet whispered. He looked at her and smiled. Geet gave a slight smile back. they arrived and walked to the door. Rano opened the door and saw Geet and hugged her tight. Maan took her blessings. Rano gave him a hug too.

'how are you beta?' She asked. Maan smiled and said 'good mama'

'Come in why are you standing outside?' asked Rano. Siya came running and down.

'stop' Siya screamed. Geet looked at SIya confused. Maan looked at her and wondered what was going on.

'mama do the aarti first' Siya reminded her mother. Rano was so happy that she forgot and did the aarti. They were about to enter when Siya stopped them.

'Siya' Rano said dissaprovingly.

'God Mum.. Because of the wedding I didn't get any money from stealing the shoes or letting the dulha enter. Its shagun jijaji.. pay up'

'Siya' Mohinder warned walking in the hall. Maan smiled and patted Siya's head.

'No worries Papa' Maan signed a 5lakh cheque and gave it to her. Siya eyes widened.

'wow thanks jiju. Now you may enter.' Siya smiled.

They all sat on the dinner table for lunch as Siya and Geet served them.

'Geet your happy right?' asked Mohinder as a concerned father. Geet looked at Maan who gave her a warning look and held her hand tight almost tight.

'off course papa. Maan takes care of me. He knows my likes/dislikes since I was a child.' Geet smiled positively.

'that's all beta That's all I wanted to know' He said.

They all finished lunch when Mohinder asked Maan to follow him to the lounge as Geet went with her mother. Siya left to go college as she just came home for Lunch.

'Geet beta, I know Maan loves you a lot. He has always been possessive about you. But he understood when you loved Dev and put his love on hold. But beta, now situation made him marry you. He is really happy. Please Geet give him the love he requires. Try beta.. remove Dev from your heart. Bring Maan in please'

Rano urged her to show tell Geet. She knew it would be hard for Geet to work on this marriage especially since she knew Geet had never loved Maan.

Rano took her to Maan's bedroom where Maan used to live with them. He lived with them until last year. Rano took her to Maan's wardrobe and opened the cupboard. Inside was hundreds and hundreds of photo's of Geet. Geet picked them up and looked at it one by one. It had the date time and occasion.

'Geet 11^th Birthday'

'Geet's first day at high school' Thousands more. Rano then took her to Maan's desk.

There were hundreds of cards there too.

Geet picked one up. It said

I love you Geet so much. Your so special to me. No one has ever been so special to me than you. Your so beautiful Geet. Today is your 16^th birthday. I wanted to tell you how I feel. I told mama. But she said you will be too young to understand. My heart was always with you Geet. Mama knew she didn't want it to break. You were to nave to understand. You looked so beautiful in your green dress and the white diamond pendant that I bought for your birthday. I know your probably wondering who it's from. But I'm glad mama made you wear it. I'm still waiting the day I will tell you how I feel. It will be the happiest day of my life'

Geet looked at Rano and there were tears in Geet's eyes. She picked up another letter.

'I hurt you today Geet. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to. I can't let any guy come near you. I love you so much and that guy Rahul his intentions were not good. I told you not to go near any boys. When I saw you talking to him near the gates as you were waiting for me I wanted to kill him. I must have been so angry that I grabbed your arm harshly and screamed at you. Geet wish you understood not all guys are good. And also that im trying to protect you. Geet I Love you so much and I wish you knew. But mama said let you finish college. Mama promised after college I can tell you and we can marry. But Geet don't go near any boys. I don't want to hurt you again'

Tears started to fall from Geet's eyes as she read letter after letter since the age when Geet turned 11 there were so many letters addressed to her. He loved her so much. Maan's love was so much. Geet tears started falling.

'Today is your 17^th Birthday. And next year I can tell you my hearts feelings. But today I saw you so happy with your friends. I saw another guy with you in college and you slapped him. I don't know what he did but when I saw you hugging a girl who looked depressed I understood why. He must have hurt that girl or something. I followed you to the police station with the girl and understood why. That guy molested the girl. The police arrested that guy. I was proud of you Geet. Over your birthday you felt your need to help humanity. You helped that girl well done. I am so proud that I love you and you will be mine soon'

'Mama He loves me so much why did you make him wait? Why didn't he tell me before Dev came?' Geet grabbed her mum and shook her. Geet was feeling guilty that she never saw or understood Maan's love.

'you turned 18 last week I wanted to tell you I love you. But I wanted to pick the right moment. you were in hospital today. I wanted to kill him. That guy who tried to run you over. He was the same one who molested that girl last year. I picked your unconcious form from the road and brought you to the hospital. I screamed at the doctor's to help you. I cried. Geet I was so afraid of losing you. I wanted to kill him. He tried to kill the girl too. But Geet don't worry. I helped her for you as your unconcious in hospital. The girl is living a new life now. She is happy. I did this for you Geet. I know you love helping other people. I just head the doctor's say that you will be concious soon. I went to get you flowers. Not that I didn't get you so many filling your ward up with flowers and chocolates before. Seeing you so close to death I couldn't not tell you how I feel. I came in to your ward when I saw another guy holding your hand and hugging you. I was shocked as you said I love you to him and the roses in my hands began to wilt as I walked out.'

Following day I went to see mama and she told me you fell in Love with Dev. I cried. I pleaded with her to say this was not true. But alas you loved him. Mama apologised as we cried in eachothers arms. I smiled. For your happiness you can marry him and love him. I will be happy in your happiness Geet. I Love you too much. I entered the ward today just to ask how you felt when I heard Dev say that he brought you to the hospital and I was shocked. He didn't do anything. He lied to you Geet. It was me I picked you up from the streets in the rain with your blood on my shirt to bring you here. I brought you the flowers and gifts in the ward not him. . The love and gratefulness I saw in your eyes for him was meant to be for me. He lied Geet. I know now if he can lie he is not a good man for you. I wanted to tell you but you loved him. But Geet what if he did not love you. Geet I can't see you broken.Mama told me to keep quiet for the moment' as Mama was the one who told Dev to say these things because Geet loved him so much and Dev felt guilty as he couldnt be there

Geet was shocked. 'you told him not to tell me anything you kept him to suffer mama. Mama if he told me earlier before Dev then I could have stopped all this. I could have loved Maan. If I knew Dev was not like he was…..' Geet cried into her mum's arms.

'Mama.. I promise. I will try my hardest to love Maan. I will give my 100% in this relationship' Geet said.

'Geet'

'Dev never loved me. I understand that now. Maan loves me. He is obsessive and possesive about me.. But mama…why? for my happiness with Dev.. If Dev couldnt get me flowers himself then why did you make Maan sacrifice? Its your fault mum.'

Maan stood at the door and smirked. Geet finally sucummbing to me. Thanks mama. I know she will accept me. Thanks for making it easier for both of us.

'Hi mama' Maan smiled. Geet looked up at him and wiped her tears. She felt so happy that Maan loved her so much. But there was still a fear in her that he will still hurt her. She knew she has to be patient and has to handle him with care. His madness his possiveness will be the only problem in this relation. But she knew now her Mum was the reason why Maan became like this. If only Her mum had let Maan speal
