Great update! Completely understand Arnav's reaction, of course he wants to be with his Khushi but he's still hurt that she made them lose a year together over a misunderstanding :)

Arnav is most definitely hurt, but he still loves her...and Khushi does owe him a proper apology for doubting him...but lets not be too harsh on the girl...this decision didn't only effect Arnav's life, it ruined her's too...so she should work for his apology, but Arnav shouldn't take too long in forgiving her

I know this is kinda short. But wanted to give you people something over the weekend. . . . 😊

Part 24:

Khushi stared out of the window of the plane that she and Arnav had boarded a few minutes ago, as they waited it to take off. She honestly didn't have any idea, how to face her family. How would they react? She sighed, making Arnav glance at her, closing the magazine that he was leafing through.

"Eh?" He called out, his voice coming out gruffer than he had intended it to be.

Khushi turned towards him and when he jerked his head to question what was wrong, she gave one of her fake smile and shook her head.

Arnav shook his head, raising an eyebrow, before he turned his focus back to the magazine. Khushi put her head on his shoulder. Arnav looked at that and turned away.

Khushi couldn't help feeling disappointed as she noticed him turning way. She pulled back and leaned her head against the window, hugging herself as if to hold herself together.

Arnav didn't even turn her way as he resumed reading from the magazine. The air hostess announced that they'd be leaving, and that they should put their seat belts on. He was about to fasten his seat belt, when he glanced towards Khushi. She had fallen asleep! And there was a tear which had come out of the confines of her eyes.

Arnav looked flabbergasted. For now, all he wanted to do was to take her in his arms, and assure her that everything would be fine now. That she was with him now. She had suffered a lot too, staying away from him. It didn't seem fair that she was going through this even after they were together. But somehow he just couldn't forget the fact that she hadn't trusted him. He fastened her seat belt, before wiping her tear away, and gently put her head on his shoulder. She sighed and hugged his arm tightly, snuggling into him, still fast asleep. He smiled, and kissed the top of her head, before he rested his head against hers.

It had been a teary farewell. At least for Khushi and Mya!! And Aditya?! It amazed Arnav how Aditya seemed to have taken to Khushi!! The Raizada edge in his voice was clearer than ever, when he had asked Arnav to take good care of Khushi, explaining all about the medications and the exercises required for Khushi's legs.

As they neared Delhi, Arnav woke Khushi up. She stared at him for a minute before she started fiddling with the ends of her dupatta, again looking out of the window.

They were driving towards Shantivan, when Arnav decided this was too much. "Will you just tell me what is it? Before I go insane?!" he asked, as he pulled over.

Khushi looked at him with a sidelong glance, before she shook her head, and said it wasn't a big deal. "It's not a big deal?? You seem worried sick about it, Khushi!! Tell me, already?!" Arnav said, his voice showing the irritation.

"I. . . I was just worried of how our families were going to react. . . . I don't even know if they'll ever forgive me. . . ." Khushi said exasperatedly. In answer, Arnav just started his car, and drove away.

'If they love you, they WILL forgive you. Don't worry, child. . . .' he thought.

As he parked his car in the driveway, and helped Khushi out, he looked at her worrying her lower lip, and smiled to himself. He held her hand and squeezed it, and Khushi looked a little relieved at this gesture, though she didn't look at him yet.

As they entered, there was a loud crash, and they both looked up to find Payal staring at Khushi, with so many emotions on her face. Milk spilled all around her, as she had let go of the glass of milk in her hand, at the shock of seeing Khushi. Both sisters walked towards each other, and stood staring at each other, before hugging and started crying.

"Where were you?? You fool!! Couldn't you tell me what it was? You should've given me ONE chance to put some sense into your head!!" Payal admonished her younger sister. Everybody had gathered around now, and all seemed to be happy about the fact that Khushi had finally returned home, and rather than being mad at her, they seemed to be curious to know as to why she left in the first place.

Aakash was the only one, who stood at a distance, staring at her angrily.

"Jiju. . .???" Khushi called, and Aakash narrowed his eyes at her, as he asked her, "Oh, don't call me that! Exactly why did you leave that day, Khushi?!"

Everybody looked at Khushi now, waiting for her answer. She explained everything, and also told that it would probably be the silliest thing that she would ever do in her life. It was Mamiji who first noticed the slight limp in Khushi's walk. And then it was Khushi's turn again to explain what had happened in the past year. Mamiji started praising her younger son, Aditya.

Khushi had expected that everybody would be angry. But it was only Aakash who was still angry on her. When Khushi asked what the reason was, he said, "Your sister was about to break up with me, Khushi! Because she thought that we were all at fault for your absconding!! And I thought I'd be damned if I sat back and let her do it. You don't have ANY idea of how difficult it was for me to persuade her!!!"

Arnav watched Khushi's face go pale, and her eyes filling up, as she sat with her head hung low in shame. He gestured Aakash to stop. Anjali and Payal consoled Khushi, though Anjali still felt bad that Khushi had made her Chotey suffer a lot, it was very clear that Khushi had suffered equally too. . . .

Arnav silently slipped to his room, and everybody else dispersed too. Anjali asked Khushi in an uncertain voice, "So. . . Umm. . . . Don't mind me asking this. But. . . . Is everything between you and Chotey??"

Khushi sighed and answered, "He loves me too much, Di. . . . He is more hurt than angry. . It'll take some more time on his part, and a lot of trying on my part to make him forget it. . . Though I'd rather he punish me in any way possible. I. . . . Totally deserve it!!"

Payal and Anjali looked at each other worriedly. Khushi smiled at both of them, as she said in a bright voice, "But don't worry! He loves me waayyy too much to stay mad at me for long!!"

Anjali had some work, and she left too.

"I'll call Amma and Babuji. They are in Lucknow Khushi. They don't stay here anymore." Payal explained. They decided that they'd surprise them, and before she cut the call, Payal told her father, "Bas Babuji. You and Amma come here! I want to see you as soon as possible!!"

"They'll be very happy to see you Khushi!!" Payal told her sister, as she fondly stroked Khushi's cheek.

Khushi excused herself and went to Arnav's room, to find him asleep. 'He must be exhausted. . .' she thought, as she pulled up the comforter, and stroked his forehead, and kissing it once. She stood back and winced as pain shot up her left leg. She stood motionless, holding her breath, waiting for it to pass, and sighed when it did. Wiping the sweat on her forehead, she was limping towards the couch, when she heard him call her, "Khushi???"

Khushi turned back to him as she smiled and said, "I thought you were asleep!!"

Not wanting to talk to her at the moment, Arnav had pretended that he was asleep, when she covered him up with the comforter, and kissed his forehead, which showed him her love. But as she turned, she had winced, and stood motionless, and Arnav knew her leg would be aching like hell! She sighed and relaxed, and his rigid body relaxed too.

"It hurts more than you show it, right?" Arnav asked, his voice weak. Khushi's smile vanished as she sighed and sat at the edge of his bed. "It isn't that bad, half the time. . . It's just that, I sat continuously, and it hurts is all. . . ."

Arnav felt so helpless at the moment, as he took her in his arms, burying his head at the nape of her neck, as he whispered, "I hate you, Khushi! How dare you make me feel helpless?!! How dare you do this to me?! To you??!! To US???"

Khushi pulled back, put a hand on his cheek, and said as she looked straight into his eyes, "I will never be able to make it up to you, Arnav. Not if I give you my life! But you have to know that I never stopped loving you. Even when I foolishly thought you had betrayed me, I couldn't stop myself from loving you. And I hope that . . . someday. . . My love will make you forgive me. . . ."

With that Khushi leaned forward and pressed her lips to his. Arnav didn't have it in him to fight her, as he let her kiss him. And maybe it was the fact that he finally had her in his arms or maybe it had been so long since they had gotten intimate, he felt desire take over him, as he deepened the kiss, gently lifting her from the bed, and placed her on his laps, not breaking the kiss. . . . . . .

Just clarifying that Arnav hasn't yet completely overcome his hurt. . . .
