CHAPTER-34

" Maan! What's wrong? Why do you look so tensed? And, why is my head pounding?" Geet groaned out loudly, throwing her head back on the seat. Maan sat beside her at the driving seat, his face grim, as they started towards the farmhouse.

" Maybe, you should quit talking. The head will stop pounding then." He said in a low voice.

" Toh kya karun? Aap ne toh 10 saal se maun vrath rakkha hua hain. Atleast one of us should be talking, you know. It's healthy." Geet pouted, then looked away angrily.

Maan stopped the car once they were inside the farmhouse. He unbuckled his seatbelt, crossed over to the other side, and unbuckled Geet's seatbelt as well. She was about to step out when he picked her up firmly and started to walk.

" No Maan! I can walk. Put me down. There are so many people there. I don't want to go in like this." She tried to talk and protest, but Maan merely ignored her.

" Maan. I am fine. I'm saying it for the last time. Mujhe niche utariye." She said, hitting him on his shoulder, when he dug his fingers into her skin, tightening his grip, and looked at her menacingly.

" If you don't stop talking right now, I swear to God, I am gonna kiss you on your lips in front of everyone. Do you want that?" His eyes spit fire as he said this to her.

Geet cringed away from the intense look in his eyes. She slowly nodded her hear for a no, knowing that Maan was perfectly capable of doing it. She let him carry her inside, and braced herself for the reaction.

However, to her surprise, the farmhouse was empty. She stared around her, and when she realized that Maan had just tricked her, she was already in their bedroom, tucked in the comfy blanket. Geet tried to get up, when she was lowered down again by her husband.

" You need to rest. You need to lie down, Geet." He started to leave, when she pulled his hand, making him land on her.

" GEET!! You'll hurt yourself." He said, as he caught himself, preventing him to land up his entire weight on her.

She put her hands around his neck lovingly, and pulled him closer. Kissing his cheek, she said, " Maan, I am fine. Tell me what has you worried! Is there something I need to know?"

He stared into her hazels, and buried his hands into her hair. Leaning down, he kissed her lightly on the lips, not deepening it.

" I love you, Geet. I love you so much!" He said against her lips.

" I already know that, Maan. Is there something else I need to know? Something you need to tell me?" she asked, looking at him questioningly, while running her hands in his hair.

He looked away, and started to raise himself from her body. She moaned in protest, and pulled him closer, nodding her head for a no.

" Geet, you'll get hurt." He tried to explain, when she cut him short and said, " I've taken your weight on me a lot of times. It won't hurt me, Maan. Just tell me what's wrong, and say it without changing your position."

He smiled a little, but it didn't reach his eyes. He traced her lower lips using his index finger, and softly whispered," How do you know, that something is wrong?"

" Because, it's written all over your face. Tell me, Maan. Let it out." She pleaded, against his finger.

He looked at her lost, and spoke in a daze," You love me so much, you know me so well, and I almost lost you in my stupidity. I suspected you of marrying me for my money, and all you ever did was love and respect me more than I deserve. I feel so…"

Geet covered his lips with her hand, and said angrily, " Why are we talking about this?"

Maan removed her hand from his mouth, and kissed it lightly. He got up from over her, and stood himself by the window, staring out blankly. Geet sighed, and raised herself, hugging him from behind, and kissing his shoulder, and waiting for an answer.

" Because, I found out who sent me those pictures, and tried to break us off, Geet today. It was Vicky. Vicky sent me those pictures, Vicky tried to break off our marriage. The account traced back to him." Maan finished painfully, closing his eyes.

Geet gasped out audibly, and jerked Maan to face her. She took his face in between her hands, and shook her head for a no. She stared into his eyes, again nodding her head for a no, while Maan looked at her miserably.

" No. Maan, you know, that can't be possible. Vicky humare saath aisa nahin karsakta. It has to be someone else. Aapse koi galti huwi hain. Do you really believe that Vicky did it? He was not even here, when it all happened. No, Maan this can't happen. Zaaroor koi galat fammi hain..Maan..we.." she said, extremely flustered, when Maan cut her musings by placing two fingers on her lips.

" Ssshhh… Geet calm down. I know, Vicky didn't do it. He couldn't have done it." Maan said, holding her face tightly, and looking into her eyes.

" Then why.." Geet trailed off confused, nothing making even the slightest sense to her.

Maan sighed loudly, and picked her up in his arms. He carried her off to bed, and laid her gently down, sliding into the comforter with her. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close, and said," Geet, Vicky mera bhai hain. He knows, what you are to me. He saw me when I was alone. He would never put me through that. But, don't you understand? Yeh jo bhi hain bohut khatarnak hain. The account traced back to him, which means that who ever did it, was capable enough of taking care of it. It has to be someone we know. Either someone from the office, or someone from our very own family. I just don't know who. And now, after what happened tonight, I am even more scared. This person clearly doesn't want us to stay together, and that's why he is busy harming you. I don't want him to succeed and I will make sure he doesn't. I wont let anything happen to you." He said in a determined voice, and unknowingly, tightened his grip on Geet, who moaned out in a low voice.

He looked at her immediately, and realizing what he did, let go of her. She stared at him angrily, and pulled up closer, by the collar of his shirt, and said menacingly," If you do that one more time, I swear, I am not gonna talk to you ever. Don't push me away from you. You can hold me as tight as you want. You never hurt me, got that Maan Singh Khurana?"

Maan smiled, and kissed her on the lips again, without deepening it. But Geet grabbed his shirt again, and crashed her lips down on his one powerfully, kissing her husband fervently. Maan pried her hands off his shirt, and pinned them down on both sides of her head, kissing her back with equal passion. They broke the kiss, breathless, and Geet said in gasps of breath, " I know, you will keep me safe. You won't let anything happen to me. Main aaj se aapko bina bataye kahin nahin jaungi. Neither here, nor when we get back to the Mansion, okay? Just don't leave me Maan. I love you, and I always need you. Promise me, that you'll be careful."

" I promise" Maan said solemnly, realizing her hands from his grip and kissing them lightly. " Hum ek do din mein ghar chale jayenge, Jaan. Don't worry."

" I'm not worrying, Maan.. I don't have to worry, as long as you're here." She said, kissing him on his cheek.

" I don't understand. Mk kahaan se aagaye the?" Sasha said furiously.

" I dont know. All I saw was Maan Veerji saved Geet, and probably took her back home." Naintara said, in a low voice in the phone.

" We have to do something more serious, Sasha. Aise chote mote steps se kuch nahin hoga. Leave it to me. I have a perfect plan."
