Her Kabir.

-------Flashback-------

It was the second day of Khushi's first year of university . She already had so many assignments and she felt the need for a cup of coffee. She texted her best friend Lavanya and asked her to join her for a cup of coffee. Lavanya replied that she would meet her at the University Cafe. Khushi paid for her Caramel Pumpkin Latte and grabbed a table. Soon Lavanya joined her with a regular coffee in her hand. They were just sitting and chatting when they heard someone ask, "Mind if I sit here?"

Khushi looked up and saw an extremely handsome guy with dark brown hair and caramel brown eyes. He was dressed stylishly in a pair of jeans, a shirt and a leather jacket

Khushi kept staring and Lavanya told the guy to go ahead and sit down.

"Hey, I'm Kabir" said the guy

"I am Lavanya and this is Khushi" said Lavanya introducing herself and Khushi

"Well, nice to meet you both" said Kabir smiling

"Yeah" said Khushi feeling her cheeks get slightly warm

Khushi stayed silent while Lavanya and Kabir talked. She heard that he was a third year computer science major and that in his free time he enjoyed hanging out with friends.

Lavanya then asked if he had a girlfriend to which he replied no. Khushi's mood became a little brighter after that for reasons that she did not know

----------Flashback Ends--------

After a little bit her sobs subsided .

She stood up and wiped her tears .

"I cannot be like this, I have to forget about him"

Khushi took a deep breath and opened the door and went into the living room

"Khushi , Are you okay?" asked Payal

"Better jiji" said Khushi with a small smile

"By the way did Arnav call you? " asked Payal

"yes he did and he asked me if I wanted to hang out the day that you and Akash are going out"

"what did you say" asked Payal

"I said yes, it was sweet of him" said Khushi now smiling widely

"good , this time I am picking your outfit. You are not wearing sweatpants again" said Payal firmly

"Jiji" Khushi whined

" What I said is final" said Payal

"Fine"said Khushi

"Good and also don't you think that you have bought too many boxes of pancake mix?"

"huh, I only bough t two" said Khushi surprised.

"No, you bought ten" said Payal concerned

Payal went into the kitchen and brought out the bag that had the pancake mix boxes. Khushi's eyes widened when she saw the boxes.

"Uhhh" stammered Khushi

"Khushi I know you make pancakes when you are upset but why did you buy so many boxes" asked Payal.

Khushi stood shocked but then realized that she had gone back to buy more boxes after she met HIM at the store.

"Now I remember why I bought so many boxes , that guy is the reason" said Khushi angrily

"Okay, Fine" said Payal not wanting to upset Khushi again by talking about HIM.

Part 15

A couple hours later

"Khushi come on we have to make dinner " said Payal coming into Khushi's room. She saw Khushi sitting on her bed looking straight ahead with tears rolling down her face.

"Khushi .. What happened" asked a concerned Payal

"Huh, What nothing Jiji" said Khushi realizing that Payal was in her room. She had not even noticed her coming in.

"Then why are you crying ?" asked Payal.

"Nothing Jiji" said Khushi firmly, she did not want to upset Payal

" I know that you are thinking about Kabir Khushi "

Khushi's silence was a confirmation of what Payal said.

"That Kabir, I am going to go and hit him on the head with a shoe" said Payal angrily.

She headed towards her room to her closet which had her million pair of shoes

"Jiji, No" Khushi yelled and ran behind her sister

"Jiji, he will not be able to get up once you hit him with your shoe" said Khushi as she held onto Payal .

"After what he did not a bad idea" said Payal trying to get Khushi off of her.

"Jiji, Really ?" Said Khushi.

"Yes, He has hurt you so much and he got away with it"

" I am fine, really I am "

"If you are you need to stop thinking about him and try to move on Pancake"

"Okay , Jiji . I will try said Khushi emotionally after hearing her nickname

"Okay come on let's go make dinner" said Payal putting down the shoe.

"Let's make full Chinese today" said Khushi in a happier voice

The next few hours went by peacefully as both sisters made a full Chinese dinner for their family.

After dinner was over Khushi went into the kitchen to clean up and wash dishes while Payal cleaned the table.

As Khushi did the dishes her mind drifted back to Kabir but she tried to push him out of her mind, feeling like she would burst into tears if she thought about him for even one more second.

But she eventually found herself thinking about their first date and the day he asked her out.
