Khushi reached inside her shirt and pulled out the chain around her neck . She looked at the ring attached to it. She had kept the ring he had given her. She was not ready to completely get rid of the ring so she removed it from her finger and kept it on a chain instead. It was a simple but beautiful ring. The word LOVE was part of the design.

While Khushi was staring at the ring she heard footsteps. She shoved the chain back inside her shirt, wiped her tears, stood up, opened the fridge and put her head inside .

"Khushi" Payal called out .

"Inside the fridge Jiji" replied Khushi.

"What do you mean... Oh. .. " said Payal as she stepped into the kitchen and saw Khushi.

Khushi was using the moment to compose herself so she could face Payal.

Khushi took a deep breath and closed the door of the refrigerator .

She faced Payal . Payal took one look at Khushi's face and frowned.

"What's wrong?" asked Payal concerned .

"Nothing Jiji" , Khushi attempted to plaster on another fake smile .

"I know your fake smiles Khushi, so don't even try it", what's wrong?

"Jiji, I saw him today "

"Who ?" asked Payal , then her eyes widened.

"Oh no, what did he say"

"He asked how I was and I said I was fine"

"How dare he even talk to you after what he did" , I am going to go and give him a piece of my mind" said Payal angrily.

"No, don't Jiji, I just want to forget that I met him today, Please" said Khushi sadly.

Khushi gave Payal a hug and then turned away towards the door and walked away.

Payal did not follow Khushi because she knew that Khushi wanted to be alone right now.

Khushi rushed to her room and closed the door, she slid down the door and once again the tears began.

She thought about how she had met HIM, the love of her life, her first boyfriend.
