Khushi awoke the following morning to an excruciating pain. Her hands immediately flew to her forhead, wincing at the unexpected ache. The memories of the night before were nothing but a blur, to Khushi. She could remember leaving the house... It was pouring... She had been upset...angry... And then... And then what? She couldn't remember. She winced in pain as she slowly pulled herself up from the bed. And as her eyes slowly adjusted to the brightness around her, she could feel her heart stop. She felt a wave of nausea overcome her. "Arnav..." Her lips quivered violently as she whispered his name.
Our room...Our house... She felt a flood of tears blurring her vision as she collapsed onto the bed in shock.
This can't be true...The memories were killing her from within. Slashing a deeper cut through her heart in every passing moment. And with every cut, she felt herself die a million deaths...
"Khushi! Stop running!" Arnav had cried, as he grabbed frantically at her dupatta. Khushi could hear herself respond with a loud shriek, as she darted behind the headboard of the bed. "Stay away Arnav! I'm warning you! I'm capable of doing more than you might think!" He raised his eyebrows, his lips forming into a smirk. "Oh really? Looks like I'll have to test for myself now..." He said, as he sauntered closer to her. Depite Khushi's profuse blushing, she managed to toss an appropriate reply to her husband who was approaching her as if a lion to its prey. "I'm serious Arnav! You better stop! Or else-"
"Or else what?" He answered, challengingly. Khushi, silenced by his lustful gaze, gave another scream and began running. But Arnav was too quick for her. He clasped her wrist tightly, as he pulled her towards him in one, swift moment. "I said, or esle what?" His arms wound around her slim waist, trapping her within their strong hold, and her hands were positioned on his chest. She could feel her heartbeats growing as a result of their proximity. "Answer my question Khushi..." He said, leaning into her. "What will you do...?" Khushi could feel her face turning red with embarressment. "Let go of me Arnav... I've got to go..." Ignoring her desperate pleas, he pulled her even closer, thrusting her onto his body. She could feel his warm breaths, caressing the nape of her neck as his lips neared her. "Answer my question first." Khushi's eyes closed, inspite of herself. "Arnav...stop it... please..." But Arnav was lost entirely in his own world...
He lifted Khushi lightly off the floor, positioning her feet on his. "What are you doing?" Choked out the shocked girl. "Loving my wife..." he whispered with mischief lining his eyes. Khushi's gaze darted anxiously from the her husband, to his shoes, to the floor, and then back up again. "Arnav..." He placed a finger on her lips. "Shh..." His hands snaked around her neck, gently lifting it up. "I love you Khushi..." He growled, before leaning into her...
Khushi hadn't realized how hard she was clenching her fists until she felt a small drop of blood ooze out. She winced, pulling her nails back. Get a grip on yourself Khushi. But she didn't know how it was physically possible. The place she had been avoiding for three years... three long years... She had returned to it once more. The life she had tried forgetting...she had been thrust into it once again... the memories of Arnav...of their life before the accident, were seeping into her mind inspite of herself. She stood up, walking over to the large, bay window that overlooked the lake. It had always provided her with comfort... and she had expected it to do the same once again... Unfortunately, the scenery only flooded her with more aching memories... This was our place... She thought to herself, as she gazed towards the water, gurgling lazily along. They had spent countless days by the lake, talking, laughing, and when Arnav's mood was especially good, even playing.
Arnav was hit with another splash of water, which soaked his already wet maroon shirt to the fullest. "Khushi Arnav Singh Raizada!" He growled, with an emphasis on his glare. She blinked, acting innocent. "Yes? Have I done something wrong?" He waved a hand, motioning towards his wet form. "I don't think there's a need to say much more?" She giggled, standing up at last, from the rock sitting trecherously on the side of the lake. He had warned her many times against sitting on it, but of course, Khushi was Khushi! She walked towards him, with a sly smile playing on her lips. She neared him slowly. His heart thudded in his chest, threatening to break out if she came any closer. "I couldn't help it..." She whispered, leaning into his ear. "You look unnaturally sexy in wet clothes..." She had meant it to be a joke, but, nontheless, it set Arnav's heart racing. "Khushi..."
"Yes my dear?" She replied, trying to mask the laugh on the tip of her tongue. "You drive me absolutely crazy... do you know that?" He asked. And without waiting for a response, quickly pulled her into a hard kiss.
Khushi shuddered. The sensation of his lips around hers, was still unbelievably fresh. The feel of his skin on hers... His arms...running across her waist... The proximity... Stop it Khushi! She warned herself once again... but it was to no avail... So many memories... and within those memories, were the best parts of her life. With Arnav. And now...? After the accident... She felt a lump form in her throat. You can't cry Khushi... You can't let yourself weaken like this... Stay strong. Her hand clamped around the window sill, as she lost herself in a flood of thoughts. "Hey Devi Mayyia..." She murmured. "Please give me the strength... Please help me..." Her eyes were shut tight, trying to block out the tears that threatened to spill any moment. First things first Khushi... you have to figure out who brought you here... Immediately, Khushi's reverie was broken, and she was thrust into the truths of her life. Arnav wasn't alive. She was still alone... But who had brought her here? Who knew about her and Arnav's marriage?
She neared the door, opening it with caution. Downstairs, she could hear the faint tapping of footsteps. Khushi craned her ears, trying to hear more... But she was met with a wall of silence. She stepped out slowly, walking towards the familiar surroundings. Although she felt unreasonably frightened, she knew she had to find out who had brought her to this house... More importantly, she needed to know WHY they had brought her here. She took a deep breath, preparing herself for the worst as she tiptoed to the stairs. With each step she took, she felt her fears multiply...until it came to a point where she almost didn't have enough courage to decend. Almost... Khushi, you're a smart...brave girl...And you're a somewhat fast runner too... If there's a murderer down there, take the first thing you see, throw it at his head, and RUN! She swallowed, feeling her lips grow dry as she took the final steps into main hall...

Honestly, I think this update is crappy... not happy with it at all... didn't turn out the way I was thinking... but I had to get this out!😆
