A short update guys. Sorry for that but I will try to make it up with next one. Thanks for your comments and lovely feedback.

Chapter 87 – Naintara's wedding

One week later – 29^th Jan

Geet was sitting on dining table chewing an apple and trying to understand the figures in the file in front of her. She blushed hard as she remembered how difficult it had been to face entire family after last week's fiasco. Teasing has been relentless and only now there was some let up. She had called Maan the same night and told him directly that they need to avoid a repeat and stay away from each other at least inside the homes. She was pleasantly surprised when Maan agreed as he had also been shaken by the encounter with his father in law in such a compromising situation.

Geet's thoughts were interrupted when Raj came closer. "Guys….it was Preeto's phone and she has requested once again that entire family should be present at Naintara's marriage next week."

Geet got up and went closer to the couches where everybody was seated – "Lekin Dad…"

Raj – "I know Geet and I have told her that we will see. You don't need to come but me, your mom, Rahul and Pari have to go."

He looked at Rishab – "She mentioned that she called you as well"

Rishab sighed – "Yes she did….She apologized again and invited us for marriage. I think I and Juhi will have to join you"

Raj nodded his head in agreement – "Yahi sahi rahega….Geet beta tum KH mein ruk jana Annie aur Maan ke saath as it may be late by the time Rahul and Pari return"

Before Geet could say anything, another voice reverberated in the living room.

"Iski zaroorat nahin hai Bade Pa"

Everyone turned to see Maan standing with arms folded at his chest. Geet was scared thinking about Maan's reaction and her eyes became teary.

Maan came closer.

Geet - "Maan…woh"

Maan stopped her midway with a glance. He turned towards Raj and spoke calmly– "Iski zaroorat nahin hai Bade Pa…I know ki I can never forgive Naintara personally but I also know that you promised to take care of her and chayiji to your brother. Maybe Naintara doesn't care but chaiyiji apologized to me and also her happiness at our engagement was genuine. I know she is a good hearted person though her thinking doesn't match mine most of the times.

Also, Geet being the only sister, people are bound to raise questions if she is not present at the wedding. Main yeh kabhi bhi nahin cahoonga ki koi bhi meri family ki taraf aankh utha ke bhi dekhe. So we all will go and trust me I have put this behind me forever."

Raj smiled and patted his head – "Thank you beta for understanding the situation so maturely. Me, Nisha and Rahul will stay for pheras but you guys can come back after dinner as Pari should also not stress herself in this situation."

Tears which had welled in Geet's eyes streamed down her cheeks. She placed her hand on Maan's arm and looked at him with pride in her eyes. Maan unfolded his hands and wiped her tears. He held her hand and patted it assuredly.

One week later- Marriage Venue - 5^th February 9:00 PM

Rahul had booked a room at the resort which was marriage venue so that everyone can get ready easily and are not get hassled by Naintara's maternal relations.

Chaiyiji had been grateful to Maan and Geet for coming.

Everyone got ready. Maan was wearing a black suit and looked dashing. Geet complimented him in red saree with black embroidery work on it. Entire family walked into the hall to welcome the baraat.

Just as they entered, a waiter collided with Geet and spilled cocktail of drinks on her saree. Geet screamed as cold liquid touched her skin.

Nisha – "Oh God Geet!!!!! Yeh kya hua….tu thik hai"

Geet calmed herself - "Main thik hoon mamma as drinks were cold but meri saree!!!"

Nisha and Juhi took Geet to the room while others moved to the hall.

Nisha – "Ab kya karien….humare to blouse bhi fit nahin aayenge ise and Pari ka size same tha but now she also has changed."

Juhi – "Lekin loose blouse will be better than this saree…but Pari can't wear this as she will be at forefront as well…I think she should try to change with Annie"

Geet got up – "Please mama…beeji….main thik hoon…nothing can be done now….accidents to hote rehte hain….I am fine and I don't care what people think. I will try to dry myself using dryer and join you guys"

By the end Geet was little teary but she tried to put a brave front.

Suddenly they were surprised to hear Maan from the door – "Kitni der mein you have to escort Naintara to mandap"

Geet - "Maan!!! Aap yahan kya kar rahe ho?"

Maan just ignored her – "I asked something….hmmm"

Nisha – "Around 45 minutes"

Maan – "Thik hai….tum yahin ruko….main kuch karta hoon"

Saying this Maan left from there.
