So without any other further delays, here is the next part!!Part 6- Recap: Arnav made a deal with Khushi regarding his attendance to poojas. Khushi got a call from a man saying Arnav got in an accident. Whole Raizada family disturbed and stressed. Doctor finally said everything is alright and everyone can meet the patient.
Everyone smiled at the words of the doctor. A small grin spread on Khusi's face as she turned to face Di. The tears were still streaming down her face but now instead of a sad frown, Anjali had a huge grin on her face.
Khushi placed a hand on Di's shoulder, nodding to her supportively, when she looked at Khushi.
"Oh Khushi! I knew he would be alright. He would not leave me alone. He would never leave you alone! I am so happy!" Anjali cried in relief, throwing her arms around Khushi, bringing her in a bear hug.
Smiling, Khushi embraced Anjali Di saying, "I know di, I know."
They broke apart when Akash called on them to come and visit Bhai. Khushi lifted her head off of Anjali's shoulder, looking at her in the eye. She wiped her tears and told her to go to him quickly. When Di asked her to come too, Khushi told her that she will be there momentarily. Di nodded, indicating that she understood and walked into Arnav's ward, leaving Khushi to control herself in peace.
Khushi stood outside the door of the ward where her hurt husband was. She quietly peered into the room through the glass window, but she could not see him. There were too many family members crowded around him.
Khushi looked in trying to get a glance until she finally turned away, with eyes stinging in pain. She was not sure why exactly, but she could not bring herself to enter the room. She could not bring herself to go and see her husband, the one who was always strong and has an aura around him that scared everyone, all tattered and weak. She knew. She knew that if she walked in unprepared, she would fall weak to his state and break. And if I start crying infront of him. He will tell me that I broke the deal and so he would never come to a pooja, she thought, laughing at his childish behavior, through her streaming tears.
Taking a deep breath, Khushi quickly wiped her tears. She stood there and planned a lecture that she was going to give him.
"How many times have I told him to drive slowly? Why can't he listen to me? It's my fault' I let him off to easily, but not today. No, today he is going to get it. I refuse to cry and show him a weakness. I will show you Mr. Raizada. I will teach you to never ignore me again. From now on, you will drive slowly, if that is the last thing I make you do," she talked to herself, unaware of how realistic her threat would turn into.
Khushi turned to face the door with a determined face. Holding on to the handle with firm hands, Khushi opened the ward door.
Anjali had rushed into Chotey's room, her eyes dying to see her Chotey again, breathing. She opened the door with force, pushing away all the other family members. Looking at him sitting propped up on the bed, relief seeped through her, immediately replaced by anger. Without a second thought, Anjali began her tirade without even bothering about how he would react.
"What is wrong with you? Can you not watch the road when you drive? What is the rush Chotey?! Khushi would not have gotten mad at you for being late to the pooja! You know she always tells you to drive slowly. If you couldn't drive slowly for me, couldn't you have done so for her?" Anjali yelled, as she slowly made her way to his bed.
Sitting down she took his hand in her hand. In her worry, she did not notice the look of confusion that had clouded her brother's face.
Arnav was not actually listening to his sister until she mentioned her name. Khushi'? Khushi Kumari Gupta? Why id Di talking about me caring for her? His thoughts were broken when he felt tears on his hand. Looking up, he saw his sister in tears. He brought his other hand and placed it on Di's hand, hoping that this would show his concern.
"Arnav promise me, promise me you will never do this again. Promise me you will never scare me like this again. Promise me, promise me that you won't leave me' leave me like Shyam, like papa', like mama," Anjali stuttered out between her sobs, crying even more when her brother tried to comfort her with no avail.
Arnav had millions of thoughts running through his mind. Jijaji left Di? Di knows and' loves Khushi as a sister? What the?? But his Di's sobs stopped Arnav from following up on his questions. He had to comfort his Di since she if first priority, pushing away the naggin thought that there might be something', someone who might share the seat of first priority with his sister. Unbelievable. Who else would share that? Only Di mattered, no one else in the world mattered, no one, Arnav thought.
That's when she walked in.
Khushi walked in the room with the door left ajar. Everyone moved aside so Khushi could come closer to him with ease, with Di still sitting on his bed.
He was propped up on the bed with pillows to aid him. There was a big red bandage on his right arm, red only from his blood. The gash he had went from his elbow, all the way to his wrist. His left hand was plastered as well since he had broken his ring finer and pinkie. His head was wrapped in white since he had hit his head on the steering wheel while driving and his opened shirt showed all of the deep cuts on his chest.
Khushi felt her anger rise as she saw the state he was in. It is his entire fault too. Why does he have to leave places at the last minute? she thought. A nagging voice in her mind told her, He was only coming for you! You would have been mad if he came late to the pooja! So?! her mind countered, Does he think this is better? Him getting into an accident? Ugh it would have been better if he had come home late! At least I could have yelled at him without a guilty conscience!
She marched to his besides, preparing to give him a piece of her mind. Every thought escaped her mind though when she heard the words that came out of his mouth.
"Tum? What are you doing here?!" Arnav screamed at her. He would not have yelled at her since honestly he did not have the energy to do so, but the way she walked to him, scared him. She had come up to him as if she had all the right to so do!
Another reason that he did not want to admit was that she looked stunning. She was wearing a salmon pink saree which suited her skin color well, he decided mentally. Her hair was open, flying all over as a black silk curtain. Looking at her, Arnav just wanted to get lost in that curtain which was framing her face and enhancing her feminine curves as her hair fell to her stomach.
^^ type of Saree Khushi is wearing. Isn't it so pretty??!
When Arnav caught himself admiring her, admiring Khushi Kumari Gupta, he snapped. Suddenly her black silky curtain started to look like a black windy storm, a storm that he could not afford to get lost in. A storm that he knew he had to stay away from.
"Chotey! What kind of a question is that? Why are you talking to Khushi like that?" Di asked, her tears which had just seemed to stop, were threatening to start falling once again.
Arnav took one look at his fragile Di who seemed to be upset once again and he turned to Khushi shouting, "You! What is your problem? First you ruined by fashion show in Lucknow, then you crashed into my car, then you joined my office, making me lose my model and then you went and told nani about my relationship! My relationship! Which is none of your business!!"
So busy was Arnav in his specch, he did not even notice the shock that was evident on everyone's face.
"And one more thing, when the hell did you get married?!" Arnav questioned curiously, the idea of her being married not settling down well with him.
At that moment, Arnav turned to look at everyone in the room and saw so many different emotions playing on their faces that it made him feel even more uncomfortable.
Anjali Di had started crying once again, letting go of Arnav's hand and moving off the bed. Nani had shock written all over her face while Mami had just fallen down on a seat in surprise. Akash looked like he had just seen a ghost and then Arnav turned to look at the person who was responsible for this tornado to be released onto his family, Khushi Kumari Gupta.
The look on her face was the one that shook him the most. She had an unreadable expression on her face. Her eyes had lost the warm rage they had had when she had walked into the room. The warm rage that had made him uncomfortable since it felt as if he was dependent on her. As if she knew him well enough to take out her anger on him, but still love him.
Arnav looked back at Akash when he saw him push a girl in front of him. Arnav stared questioningly, wondering why exactly was he pushing his wife in front of Arnav.
"Do you know who she is Bhai?" Akash asked, looking at Arnav apprehensively.
"Off course I know who she is! You married her last year! Though I can't exactly remember nani being against the marriage which is surprising since Nani always wanted me to get married first," Arnav told Akash, muttering the last part more to himself.
Arnav mind went in a state of shock and surprise when he saw Khushi walking up to his bed and then sitting down exactly where Di had been sitting. He felt her slip his hand into her two small soft hands. The warmth of her hands spread through his body relieving it from the pain he was feeling. He didn't know why exactly, but at the moment, he just wanted to hug her. He wanted to hold his arch enemy in his arms and possibly never let them go. He wanted to feel her against his body and the desire to have her be there for him scared him.
Doing the best thing he did when he was not comfortable with his thoughts. He got ready to yell and rebuke her. Looking at her he was about to tell her exactly how much he hated her, when she asked him something that had him gapping at her.
"Aap mazak kar rahein hai nah?" Khushi asked him softly, trying not to lose hope.
Even before he said anything Khushi knew. His eyes told her everything as they did always. He was not kidding. But she wanted to hear it from his mouth. She wanted to hear it from his that', he did not remember her marriage, their marriage. That he did not remember his love for her. That he did not remember his love for her. That he did not remember her love for him! She could feel tears stinging her eyes but she held them in', since her love, her husband, her hunsafar', had yet to reply her question.
Arnav saw the pain in her eyes. She was begging him, from her eyes, to saw that he was joking, that he was lying. But I don't know what she is talking about. I can't lie to her about something which seems', seems so important to her. What the?! Why do I care about how she feels? She is Khushi Kumari Gupta! The one I hated! Still hate, yes, yes, still hate!
With that in mind, he yanked his hand away from her grip. Seeing the look of shock on her face made him not want to continue with what he was going to say but he was angry and honestly I could care less. Looking away from her, he spoke up.
"I have better things to do then joke with you Khushi Kumari Gupta! Juse leave! Go! I don't want to see you, your face, or your fake innocent eyes," Arnav yelled at her, turning to face her as he said the last part.
He looked at her for a reaction, watching as he saw her face being covered by a pain stricken face. Her eyes were blood shot red with some tears still left hanging on her cheeks. Her hands were still in the same position they had been when he had pulled his own hands away.
Arnav pushed away his thoughts about her and closed his eyes. He was feeling terribly tired, probably the drug dose they have infused in my blood.
Opening his eyes in a small slit, he saw Khushi Kumari Gupta walk away from his bed lifelessly. Arnav closed his eyes again, wondering why her being in pain bothered him so much. Before he knew it though, he was fast asleep, falling prey to the drugs.
Akash walked out of the room with everyone else when he saw Bhai fall asleep. He went to consult the doctor and told him about the problem and how Bhai did not seem to remember his own wife but remembered his wedding. The doctor listened to a panicking Akash and calmly asked the nurse to bring in the patient's brain scan.
After looking at it for a while, the doctor came outside to tell the family what was wrong with Arnav.
"The patient had selective memory loss," he concluded with a grim face, "Meaning that he has forgotten some of the events and people which occurred in his life over the past year. He remembered some events that have occurred, hence your marriage," the doctor said while pointing to Akash, "but he does not remember his own."
