Part 22

Maan (self thought): Gosh! She is beautiful.
The girl had a cute little angel-like face, with big eyes neatly outlined by koel. A cute little nose and her blushing cheeks, it was like seeing a doll. And her pink rosy lips pressed together irritated with her curls blocking her vision. She tried removing them from her face but her hands were already occupied with the passport in one hand and the other trying to balance the trolley and support herself from falling. And that's when it happened. Her left foot slipped on the marble floor and she fell on to the ground with a thud. Geet was covered with two layers of thermals, a T-shirt, a sweater on top of it and then a huge long pink fluffy jacket upto her knees. She looked like a female version of Santa Clause. It was really difficult for her to get up on her own with so many layers of clothes on her tiny, slim body.

Maan gave her his hand and made her stand on her toes. He helped her back with her luggage on the trolley and asked her if she was okay.

Maan: Hey! Are you okay?

Geet: uh, hmm. Geet nodded.

There was a bunch of students who were laughing at her plight sitting on the benches. Geet turned around and gave them the sternest look possible.

Maan: Geet? Ahh! Geet Handa?

Geet: yeah! That's me for you..always in a trouble.
Geet murmered the last bit but maan could stil hear. He smiled warmly and continued.

Maan: If you don't mind may I see your documents?

Geet: Documents? She looked completely confused.

Maan: The confirmation for the meet and greet programme as well as the confirmation from the Halls of residence (hostel)?

Geet: yah, sure!

Geet figited with her luggage, unable to find the documents.

Maan: Should I help?
Geet reluctantly moved back as Maan helped her luggage. Geet finally found the documents and handed them to Maan.

Maan: Okay! We all can finally proceed to the coach now.

Geet smiled embaressed and followed him along with the other fresher students.

Maan Dropped all the students to the main hall where the registeration was to take place and then went and took them to their respective residencies.

It was late in the evening and geet had settled in her room quite well. Her almira was done, the study table perfect, her bathroom accessories at their place and Bed..

Geet: Bed? Oh my ghosh! I still don't have my mattress and duvet. How am I gonna sleep tonight?

Just then she heard a knock on the door. She turned around frustrated and opened the door really annoyed.

Geet: What is it now? She almost shouted;
But then calmed herself seeing Maan standing at the door.

Maan: Sorry! I didn't mean to disturb you.

Geet: Hmm, I am sorry. She said with an embarresed face and smiling a bit.

Maan: Its okay! Any problems?

Geet: Ah! Actually….. hmm..

Maan: you can tell me.

Geet: I still don't have my bed linen and duvet.

Maan: Not that of a big problem? Did you have dinner?

Geet: Ah huh?

Maan: I asked did you have dinner yet?

Geet: Nope.

Maan: Cool then why don't you come out with me for dinner and we can get your bed linen and duvet on our way back?

Geet: Sure.

Maan: Okay then I still gotta check a few more rooms and then I'll see you down stairs in the parking lot?

Geet: Okey Dokey! She said in a typical British way which maan didn't miss.

Maan: Learning fast huh?

Geet smiled. Maan was about to leave when Geet called for him.

Geet: Maan!

Maan: Yes?

Geet: Thankyou!

Maan: You are most welcome. He smiled and went off closing the door.

Geet came down the stairs in a plain while top and a pair of black jeans with a Black jacket and a hood. She looked casual and comfortable with herself. Maan smiled at her.

Geet: What?

Maan: It's just amazing how you are so comfortable with who you are? Not everyone's like that. It's not easy. Guess that's Geet Handa for me.

Geet: No. That's just Geet for you.

Maan: Just Geet?

Geet: Yeah! just Geet.

Maan opened the passenger seat door for her and gestured for her to sit down. Geet sat down and Maan came around to sit on the driving seat.

Maan: Ready?

Geet: All set. She said smiling at him.

Location: some where in London;

Geet: Do you mind if I switch on the radio?

Maan: there's some problem in there. Why don't you play any of the CD's ?

Geet: Okey!
She checked Maan's collection of the CD's which were in the car and was shocked to see those.

Geet: Do you seriously enjoy OLD HINDI MOVIE MUSIC????

Maan: Yes! Why don't you like it?

Geet: LIKE? I HATE IT. And you gotta be kidding about liking these songs.

Maan: No I am not I guess that's just a part of being myself. Being Just MAAN!

Geet put one of the CD's on and asked him: So that's Maan for me?

Maan: Yeah that's Maan for you; Just Maan. He said looking straight in her eyes.

The car came to a halt and Maan announced that they have reached. Geet came out of her memories and song on the radio had brought back all her pain and worries about this wedding back. She still was not sure what game the destiny had in store for her and Maan.

I am so so so very sorry for not updating this for so long 😭 But will regularly update this along with Bawari Piya ki from now on.
