Part 60
Sunlight had made entrance into the hut and as soon as sunrays fell on their faces, they woke up. There was something different about this night. In a long time, they both finally had good sleep. They didn't need a luxury bed to feel asleep, it was enough to have eachother's warmth to have wonderful sleep. In this hut, without any convenience, they had relaxing moments with each other. Without saying, a night had said enough. Without saying, moment had said enough.
There was a brief moment of staring when she woke up and realized that her head was rested on his shoulder for the entire night. They went back to their car and Maan dropped her to her house. All riots got calm down as darkness was replaced by the vibrant Sun.
After few hours, Maan and Geet met again in the office. A lot of work was waiting for them. Because of one urgent client meeting, they both had to be in Mumbai by tomorrow. Luckily they got flight booking for the evening so that they would be there by tonight.
"Come on Geet, hurry up otherwise we will be late for the flight."Maan was asking Geet at her house door as they were about to leave for the airport.
"Yes Maan, just give me a minute. This bag is little heavy."Geet said.
Maan instantly ran to her and picked up a bag from her hand. "Geet, you should have just asked me."
It was a quick two hours flight and they reached to Mumbai on time. Hotel rooms were already booked for them. Driver was already there to pick them up.
"Geet, are you hungry? We can go to restaurant first before going to the hotel. I am really hungry."Maan asked her.
"Sure we can go for dinner first. I am also hungry."Geet said while relaxing in the car. Finally they were in the beautiful city of Mumbai where life was filled with craziness. The breeze was the only support sometimes this city had. There could be more stars in the city than the stars in the sky.
They had a nice dinner at one of the finest Italian restaurant in Mumbai. Their car was passing by one of the beautiful area of Mumbai, Marine Drive. Especially at night, the area looked more beautiful with lights and breeze.
"Maan, can you ask driver to stop the car?"Geet asked him with authority.
"Geet, what happened? Are you alright?"Maan asked worriedly.
"Maan, stop the car."Geet said.
Driver stopped the car and finally Geet spoke, "Maan, I want to take a walk at Marine Drive if that is ok with you."
"Geet, you are seriouosly too much. You took my breath away for a second. Ok now let's go. I guess you know that you can easily throw tantrums at me."Maan said while exhaling the worry from his face.
They started walking on Marine Drive under the sky. There was a smooth sound of water and nothing else. It was the perfect moment of peacefulness which was missing in their life.
"Do you know Geet that I have always wished for one thing?"Maan said.
"What is it Maan?"Geet asked.
"I always wanted a house facing the sea so that my day and night could be filled with same silence and beauty of water."Maan said with a little sadness but with the hope.
"Maan, that's a good idea. Of course, it is a nice dream to have a house facing the Sea. It is nice to listen to the sound of water all the time and to watch the beauty of the sea all the time. Luckily sound of water and beauty of sea are never ending treasure."Geet said happily.
"Geet, I am having a crazy idea. You can just sit here and I want to dive into the Sea. Water is my weakness since childhood. I can get crazy just by looking at the water."Maan said with a spark on his face.
"Maan, are you crazy? This is ocean not your swimming pool. No you can't do that."Geet said with anxiety.
"Of couse I can do that. Geet, I know swimming very well, and I know that you don't know but it is ok, you should just sit here. Don't worry. Nothing will happen."Maan said while removing his shirt.
"Maan, please, don't do this to me."Geet said worriedly.
"Geet, nothing will happen to me."Maan said while making her sit on the rock.
The next moment, he dived into the ocean. Five minutes went by and Maan didn't show up. Geet was getting worried. She had almost started crying. She started yelling Maan''''..Maan''''.Maan''''''''.but she didn't hear anything back.
Few more minutes went by and she heard her name. Maan spoke Geet but he was still not in the sight.
She had the slightest glimpse of him but instantly it faded away in the water. She was so worried that she decided to jump in the sea to find him. She didn't know swimming though.
Without worrying about herself, Geet jumped into the water. Maan was almost coming out of the water and he noticed from far that she jumped. Adrenaline rushed him to swim quickly and luckily he grabbed her. He brought her safe back to the rocks.
"Geet, are you crazy? Why did you jump into the water? You could have lost your life. You didn't know swimming. Are you crazy? Why did you do this?"Maan threw questions at her while patting her cheeks to wake her up.
She opened her eyes and instantly she hugged him tightly. While crying, she blabbered, "Maan, how can you leave me? I can't live without you. I don't have anybody to rely in my life. You are the only one. I don't want to lose you. I can't live this life alone. I need you. Maan, I need you."
Maan was in shock with happiness. He heard those words which he wanted to hear from her for many years now. Even though, she told him unknowingly but he realized that he meant a lot to her. He knew that he resided in her heart. He knew that she couldn't live without him the same way he couldn't imagine his life without her. The hope rejuvenated his soul. The hope to live a life with her was enough to give him confidence in his own life.
Geet was the only reason he was able to cure himself to much extent. Without Geet in his life, he could be again the lifeless soul.
Maan hugged her tightly as well. That hug probably last more than few minutes. They both were lost in each other. It was the moment of happiness and satisfaction for both of them.
She wasn't ready to let go off him for a second. "Geet, I am ok, trust me, I am fine. Look at me Geet, I am infront of you. I promise you that I will always be with you. I will never leave you alone. Geet, calm down. Please stop crying. Geet, I am here with you."Maan said.
Geet was still holding him tightly with the fear of losing him. She was still in the state of shock. She had already lost Sameer once. She couldn't afford to lose more people in her life. Maan had been the only strong support she had after Sameer. She started kissing Maan on his cheeks, forehead, hands and everywhere.
Both were in a different world like they were not part of this society. Maan cupped her face and kissed her lips. Tears had still covered her eyes and she responded instantly to his lips. He was holding to her lips like there was no tomorrow.
Finally they broke the moment and Maan said, "Geet, you will get sick, we need to immediately go to the hotel. You need to change clothes."
They reached to the hotel. Entire way, she was holding to his hand and he covered her under his arms. Geet was still in so much fear that Maan wasn't able to let her go. She was cocooned under his arms for entire night. They both felt asleep on the couch of Maan's hotel room.
She woke up in the morning with the sunlight and the reality struck her. She was wrapeed in his arms. He was sleeping deeply. She moved his hands away from her and she walked up to her hotel room.
There was something binding them together whether she would accept it or not. She realized one fact though that she couldn't imagine her life without him. He had supporter her when nobody had supported her. He was with her when she lost Sameer. He was always there for her whether knowingly or unknowingly. He deserved one chance from her. She had to listen to her own heart today.
