~Chapter 4~
Arnav stood facing his brother-in-law, trying to keep his anger and fist in control. He tried to remain calm but it seemed much more difficult than he had initially presumed. His brother-in law regarded him with the same intense look, one of anger and hate in perfect mix. "Yes jija ji, can I help you ? It's so late ! Is Di alright ? Is everything alright ?".
Shyam tried his best to answer Arnav all the while looking over Arnav's shoulders to see whether or not he could get a glimpse of his sweetheart. " Yes Arnav ji, everyone is alright and most definitely your Di. She is sound asleep, although I must admit that she was indeed hurt that you went off and got married without telling anyone. You are her chotte after all, imagine the hurt and pain she must be going through knowing that she couldn't celebrate your marriage as grandly as she would have liked."
Ahhh of course he would use my sister as an excuse. He probably is in more pain, denial and anger than my Di is. What a scum bag. And to actually think that we were all fooled by his supposedly good nature all this time. He disgusts me. "Of course jija-ji, I understand. But you see when I found out that Kushi's marriage was about to be arranged, I knew I couldn't wait any longer. After all like you would say, love makes a man do crazy things. I wasn't about to watch the love of my life marry someone else. After all she is mine".
Shyam wasn't sure whether he wanted to strangle himself or Arnav after hearing Arnav call Kushi his love. She is mine Arnav Singh Raizada, and I will do anything, and I mean anything, to have her. I promise that. Shyam starts to laugh maniacally, like a mad man who seemed to have possessed by the very devil himself. " Ha hahah….Come on Arnav ji, we both know better than this…I'm one of the greatest lawyers in Delhi and you, you're the great business tycoon, the great ASR. We both know that you married Kushi just to make sure that I wouldn't leave your sister for her. Everyone knows that you'll do anything for Anjali; after all she is the only true relation and family you have left. Not to mention, Kushi hates you and I must say, vice-versa. You want me to believe that you actually all of a sudden love Kushi ? The one that you hated the most in this world, the one who dare defies your every order and command ? And more importantly, since when have you been capable of love ? Mark my words, Arnav ji, I will have Kushi Kumari Gupta. Kushi is mine and I will do anything to make her mine !!!"
Arnav regarded his brother-in law in silence, wondering how his sister never realized his evil intentions. If it weren't for you Didi, I would throw this pig out of this house right this second. But you say that you love him Di, that he's the beginning and end of your happiness. I will tolerate this jerk just for you Di, just for you. Arnav regained his composure and when he spoke again, his voice and words carried a cold certainty and promise to them. " Jija-ji, Kushi will never be yours' because she IS already mine. I never give up what is right fully mine without a fight. I will protect Kushi from you and your evil thoughts and behavior. And at the same time, I will protect her family from your wrath and vengeance and make sure that no harm comes to my precious sister's happiness. And do remember one thing jija-ji, she is no longer Kushi Kumari Gupta. She is Kushi Kumari Arnav Singh Raizada!!!" With those final words, Arnav slammed the door forcefully on an anger and grief-stricken Shyam.

The sunlight dripped into the master bedroom, spilling its sunshine and warmth into the spacious room and lighting up the interior. Its rays were dancing on the faces of the newly wed beautiful couple, who seemed to be fully asleep and peaceful.Kushi slowly woke up, sleep still clogging her tired brain. She immediately become aware of the fact that she was no longer in her bed at home , but in that of a stranger's. Turning her face to the right, in the direction of the sunlight, she came face to face with her enemy/husband/protector. She gasped as last night's events came rushing back into memory. After the confrontation with Shyam, Arnav had marched into the room, told or more like ordered her to sleep. When she had refused to sleep in the same bed as him, he merely threatened her in a low and seductive voice that no bed or space was capable of stopping him from wanting and having her if he chose to. For some unknown and bizarre reason, that declaration had sent a shiver of desire down her belly and settled in a pool at the core of her feminine spot. Not wanting to analyze the reaction further, Kushi had crawled all the way to the edge of the left side of the bed, shut her eyes tightly and slept on her side, facing away from Arnav.
Coming back to the present, Kushi gazed appreciatively into the face of the man who had become her husband. You don't look that mean when you're sleeping Laad Governor. You actually look somewhat good...handsome even. Kushi traced a finger down the face of Arnav, starting from his strong cheek bones to his jaws. You don't have your regular angry face Laad Governor. Someone can actually like you in this case. No stress...no lines of tension or anger...you don't look like ASR...the mean manipulative money-minded business magnet...you just look like Arnav...my Arnav . Kyaaa??? Hey Devi Maya!! Kushi, you ediot...pagal laadki !!! Just because he promised to protect you from that slimy toad and comforted you when you needed it does not make him your's or you his...even if that was what he boasted about to the vampire. Heyy Devi Mayya...I was just emotional...that's it...I was just tired. I'm going to go and take a long hot shower...yes that's what I'm going to do.
Kushi silently crept across the blue room and into the washroom. She took almost one hour, washing away all her weariness of the previous day and all the frustration, nervousness and agitation that had accompanied it. She took that time to reflect on her reasons for marrying Arnav and came to a conclusion that they were indeed honorable ones; protecting Anjali ji's happiness, her sister's honor and reputation and her family from harm and poverty. Yes Devi Maya, I did the right thing. I did right by everyone... Now I just hope I do right by myself and my heart . Kushi turned of the tap and was about to leave the tub when she suddenly realized that she had forgotten her clothes outside. Hey Devi Maya ! They're on my side of the bed. What do I do now ? Oh..Oh God...Hey Devi Maya...I...I know...I'll just tip toe and get my outside. Wrapping her towel around her, Kushi hastily sped towards the bed rather than tip toeing across due to fear of Arnav waking up. Not realizing that her feet were still wet and that the floor was granite, she slipped and went flying on top of Arnav, who she soon realized as she was falling on top of, was wide and fully awake. Oh and she was barely clad except for the thin and tiny pink towel that little to imagination.
