Chapter 3
Soon the soft look on his face was replaced with a mixture of annoyance and shock, causing Khushi to snap out of the eyelock and look around to make sure no one saw them.
Khushi hesitated before getting up and smoothing her clothes. By now Arnav was also on his feet, she looked at him from the corner of her eyes, just to find him glaring at her. So he's back, she thought, but why do i care? i don't have anything to do with him, he's no one to me, she told herself before taking a few steps forward to get out of there. This attempt of her's was cutoff by Arnav, who caught her wrist and pinned her to the nearest tree.
"What the hell do you think you are doing, can't you see!" he snapped. Khushi looked at him, stunned. So he was still the same old Raizada, he was still hurting her and he still blamed her for everything. Blood came rushing to Khushi's cheeks, Who does he think he is? she thought to herself. She wanted to hit him, hit him hard so he would understand his mistake and stop blaming her for everything possible. But she didn't, instead she tried getting away from him.
"Arnav, you are hurting me!" she said through gritted teeth, trying to free her wrist from his hold. But Arnav wouldn't budge, instead he moved closer to her lessening the already small distance between them. Khushi leaned her back against the tree, trying to stay away from him as much as possible. She didn't trust herself when Arnav was this close to her.
All this while she did not dare to look up into his eyes. This was the thing with Arnav, he talked with his eyes. Evertime Khushi gazed at him she felt like a open book in front of him, it felt like Arnav was reading her and she did not want her thoughts and feelings to be disclosed to Arnav Singh Raizada.
"Have you gone blind, or do you still enjoy throwing yourself at every guy possible?" he hissed.
Khushi flinched at his words. Was he calling her a S*** She had had enough of him, she wouldn't keep quite now. She would fight back and let him know that he was wrong, as always.
"Excuse me, there is nothing wrong with my eyes," she told him "It's you who seems to be on a loss of both eyes and a brain."
Hearing this Arnav looked taken a back."Oh, so Khushi Gupta has found her tongue?" he spitted out. Khushi looked at him for a second, trying to find her Arnav in him. The Arnav who had been with he through thick and thin, the Arnav who cared. But all she could see was hatered written all over his face. Khushi bit her lower lip, trying her best not to cry.
Little was she aware of the storm that her actions were causing inside Arnav. Her closness was unleashing the beast in him. He tried to look away from her as much as possible but couldn't help. He was battling with himself, part of him wanted to hug her and to kiss her tender lips but the other part of him preveted him from taking any such actions.
"Arnav would you let go of me, i don't wanna talk to you." Khushi told him curtly, breaking Arnav's train of thoughts.
"So now you will tell me wat to do? No one tells me, Arnav Raizada wat to do...u get that?" He hissed
This was the end. He was crossing his limits. Anger seeped into her. She looked around trying to figure out a way to get rid of him when suddenly it hit her. She sneered and then without wasting anytime bit his arm as hard as she could. Arnav quickly jerked his arm away. She could see the marks of the bite appearing on his arm. Without wasting anytime she made a run for it. Arnav stood there frozen, he couldn't believe what had just happened.
Khushi ran as fast as her legs would allow her. She wanted to get away from him and never see him again. He loathed her, he loathed her for no reason. Wait, it wasn't all his fault, Khushi thought, she had also played her part in it. She had jumped to conclusions and destroyed her own life. She had misjudged him too, she had lost her best friend, forever. With this tears came rolling down her cheeks. She rushed into the nearest grocery store she could find. She could feel people staring at her but she didn't care. She quickly grabbed herself a pack of M&Ms and rushed out of the store. Not bothering to take the change that the receptionist held out to her.
Once out Khushi broke down. The tears were unstopable. She collapsed on a bench and cried her heart out, before forcefully opening the pack of M&Ms and munching on them to take all the anger out. This was a rather unusual way of doing so but this was the only thing that worked for her.
After the tears had stopped and her anger had subsided Khushi stared at the now empty packet of M&Ms.
Flashback:
"Khushi what's wrong, why are you crying." Arnav asked. Khushi looked up at him, concern was clearly visible on his face by now.
"Its nothing..." she managed before breaking down into uncontrolable sobs. Arnav moved closer, more worried then ever.
"Khushi, don't cry please, i hate it when you cry." He told her wrapping his arms around her. Khushi put her head on his shoulder. She was glad to have Arnav with her. Out of all the people she knew he was the only one whom she knew would understand her.
"Now tell me what happened?" Arnav said, softly running his fingers through her hair.
"You know that tv show i watch? The one with the very hot guy in it?" she asked him. Arnav looked confused, what does a tv show have to do with her crying, he thought.
"Yeaa?" he managed.
"Well, he died..." Khushi replied in between sobs. This was the end. Out of all the things in the world she was crying over a guy who died in a TV Show? This girl is unbelieveable, he thought to himself. Arnav was tempted to laugh but he knew better then this. Instead he pretended like it was a tragedy.
"Oh my God...how could they kill him, he was an amazing fella!" Arnav replied, putting his best dissappointed expression on his face.
"I know..." Khushi sobbed, "That stupid producer, how could he be so mean...just wait, wait tell i learn Karate, he will be my first target."
Arnav looked at her amused, knowing what came next, and undoubtablly Khushi held out her hand. Arnav took the pack of M&Ms out of his bag and placed it on Khushi's palm. This was what always happened. Whenever Khushi was angry she munched on the M&Ms. It helped Khushi overcome her anger, but little was she aware of how adoreable she looked when she did this. Arnav stared at her fondly, she was so innocent so sweet.
Once Khushi was done she looked up at him and smiled. She was aware of the fact that Arnav was pretending to be heartbroken about that Tv Show guy dieing, but the fact that he had not laughed at her was too sweet to ignore.
"Thanx.." she said.
"Hey no thanx, and no sorry in Friendship...quote by..." Khushi cut him mid way, before he could complete his sentence.
"SRK...i know." Khushi told him. Arnav chuckled.
"Let's go, m hungry man, and i deserve a sandwich in return of that pack of M&Ms that you just munched on so violently." he joked. Khushi punched him playfully.
Khushi made her way back to her house. She was in the process of rushing upto her room before Payal appeared in the lobby. Payal looked at her from head to toe, her eyebrows raised.
"Khushi did you start making mud pies in the backyard again?" she joked.
"Di, not now." Khushi replied before rushing upstairs. Payal followed. She knew something was up with Khushi, and she wouldn't let go until Khushi told her everything.
"Khushi what happened?" Payal asked, worried.
"Nothing." Khushi relpied before sitting on her bed and taking her socks off.
"Come on, you know you can't hide it from your di," Payal said "Tell me maybe i can help?"
Khushi looked up at her Di. She was right. It wouldn't bite if she told Payal di about the incident. Without wasting any more time Khushi narrated the whole incident to her sister.
"Khushi, u only saw him today, Forget about it, u won't see that Raizada again, u have nothing to do with him anymore." Payal told her.
Before Khushi could reply she heard her mom scream from downstairs, causing both the girls to jump.
