PART 28

The next day Mayank had already left for office even before Nupur was awake and so she had no other option but to wait for his return.. meanwhile she talked to Mrs Vasti.. inspite of the fact that she didn't like the woman much, she couldn't help but pity her for what she had gone through.

Mrs Vasti: " do u love him?"
Nupur looked up quickly and replied with a firm "no"!

Mrs Vasti: " I felt so.. anywyas, did u plan anything for tonight?"

Nupur: " nahe! I guess I took the first step, now he should do something."

Mrs Vasti: " he wont do anything but avoid u from now onwards.."

Nupur: " and why exactly would that be? I told him I am ready to spend sometime with him…"
Mrs Vasti: " and he told a little too much about his heart to u yesterday in ur argument… he said the two women he cared about, (looking her in the eye) he cares for u Nupur."
Nupur: " why are we having this discussion?"
Mrs Vasti: " cause u are calling him and requesting him to take u out for dinner."

Nupur: " mrs Vasti, that's not happening!"

Mrs vasti: " do u want to give ur relation a chance?"

Nupur: " han but I did try yesterday and …"

Mrs Vasti : " and if I know him, he will be avoiding u now! And so its ur turn to get to him!"

Nupur: (taking a deep breath) "exactly why are we doing this?"

Mrs Vasti: " if I say what u want to hear then I would say, to save ur relation, and if I tell what I want to say , because u both are pretty much attracted to each other!"

Nupur: " m not attracted to him! How can u…"

Mrs Vasti: " ok then will say it in clear words! U love him!"

Nupur: " how can I love someone who forced me…"
Mrs Vasti: " (cutting in) "because somewhere fortunately for u, u saw the real man inside him… and u love that human part of him that still exists, maybe just for u!"

Mind: " this is sheer stupidity!"

Heart: " shhsssh! Cant u shut up for a while?"

Mind: " shut up and let that idiot woman ruin me! no way! Call him? I mean why would I call him!"
Heart: " uff! U know what u need a break! Wese bhe u are not much needed any longer!"

Mind: " kya kya kaha tmne? Tm …"

Heart: " shhsss! She is calling!"

Inspite of all the anger, the mind indeed was quiet after that!

Nupur was looking at her mobile since the past half an hour! She had dialed his number thrice but then disconnected quickly! Mrs vasti was waiting patiently at the other end of the room,but Nupur couldn't bring herself to do it! however she also knew she had no other option! She had to call… it was already 8 pm and as Mrs Vasti had predicted, he had nor called, nor sent a message! And nor been home!

Taking a deep breath Nupur finally dialed the number and this time, she let the bell ring…

Mayankw as trying to concentrate on the meeting but he was highly distracted that day! And as if that wasn't enough, his mobile started ringing just when he was about to listen to the poor manager…

Mayank picked up the mobile, a bit irritated but it was all forgotten when he saw the caller name… excusing himself, he picked up the call, feeling a mingled feelings of anxiety and …. Pleasure…

Mayank: " hello?"
Nupur: (almost throwing the mobile away but then getting the glare form Mrs vasti) "hello… errmmm… mayank?"
Mayank: " unfortunately yes! If u had intended to call someone else, do it right away…"

Nupur: (realizing that he was about to disconnect) errmm.. no! I mean I wanted to talk to u!"
Myank: " are u sure about that?"

Nupur: " why do u have to behave in that manner? Cant we talk! If u don't want to then just say so!"

Mayank: " I never said that! ok say it out."
Mayank had no idea how to handle her anylonger! One moment she was all fiery and abgry and thenext would act like a submissive kid.

Nupur: " when will u come home?"

Mayank: " I have no more meetings pending.. will be late!"

Nupur: " how longer wil u take?"

Mayank: " I have no idea nad if ur wifely interrogation had finished can I go back and listen to that poor manager?"

Nupur: " yeah fine!"
Myank was about to disconnect when Nupur suddenly added, " mayank! whenever u get free, can we.. ermmm… (Mrs vasti was urging her to go on…) can we.."

Mayank: (irritated) " can we what exactly Nupur?"
Nupur: " how about we go out for dinner! I wanna go out!"
phew she had said that!

Nupur took a deep breath..

What? She had said that?

Mayank was too shocked to reply for a while…

Mayank: " ok!"

Nupur: " what?"

Maaynk: " I said ok! I will finish this meeting and cancel the other two… will pick u up in an hour."

Nupur: " oh ok! Great! Yeah wel will be waiting!"

With this she quickly disconnected the phone and looked up at Mrs Vasti: " he said he will pick me up in an hour!"

Mayank entered the cabin and gave a pity glance to the poor manager.. somehow he had lost even the last ounce of concentration …

Mrs vasti: " how come u don't have a single blue colored dress?"
Nupur: " and how come sicne the past 15 minutes we are searching ofr a blue drerss instead of my getting ready?"

Mrs Vasti: " I thought that was obvious! Mayank likes blue color!"
with this Mrs vasti pulled out a blue dress with churi dar pajama.. it was a combo of white and blue and Mrs vasti smiled when she finally made Nupru try it out.

Mrs vasti: " this is perfect!"

Nupur: " yeah right! Arrrgghh! Why m I doing all this? No wait I don't want ur answer mrs Vasti!"

She pulled out matching accessories and within next half an hour was impatiently waiting for him to pick her up…

Mind: " why is she pacing the room like that?"

Heart: " because she is waiting for him!"
Mind: " arrghhh! U and she has gone crazy!"
Heart: " if u ask me, we are falling in love…"

Nupur heard the horn of the car and bidding Mrs vasti a good bye while she reminded her what she had to do in the restaurant, she made her way out of the house…

Mayank was impatiently waiting outside, hitting the horn agiana and again! Now he was not feeling that good about the idea of their having dinner together , right after what happened last night. But well, since she had entered his life, things have been pretty unexpected! He wondered how could she be so unpredictable!

And if he was wondering before, he was shocked to see her walk towards the car…

She was wearing his favorite color and he could see she had gone to extra pain to get dressed.. and she looked nervous… she was biting her lip and inpste of himself, he felt something flicker in his heart…

But he was still wasn't sure what was going in her mind!

Taking a deep breath and preparing himself for whatever was coming, he looked up at her when she seated herself in the car , " I don't think it will be any help asking why we are doing this?"

Nupur: " well, as I said I needed to spend sometime…"

Mayank: " (cutting in) so lets go then?"

With this he started the car, feeling a strange restlessness inside… and waiting to see what the night brings ahead…

Okay coming to the update, sort of a connector hun!! .. but beautifully written, just like before .. 🤗. It doesn't even seems that the story was disconnected at at any point.
