MAAN KHURANA : GUYS, SO FAR IN MOST OF THE CASES U HAVE COME ACROSS WITH A MILLIONAIRE, HOT-SHOT MAAN SINGH KHURANA, BUT LET ME INTRODUCE HIM FOR THE 1ST TIME AS A SIMPLE BOY NEXT DOOR, YOUNG ENTHUSIASTIC 24 YEARS OLD DELHI GUY FROM A UPPER MIDDLE CLASS FAMILY WITH SO MUCH PASSION IN HIM FOR CRICKET. YES, OUR MAAN IS A YOUNG CRICKETER, ALREADY HAS SCORED MANY RUNS IN STATE LEVEL, & NOW IS GOING TO PLAY FOR INDIA THIS YEAR.

GEET HANDA: A YOUNG COLLEGE GOING GIRL FROM DELHI, SHE IS VERY SWEET, VERY POLITE, VERY UNDERSTANDING. SHE IS ON HER LAST YEAR OF COLLEGE.
DEV MITTAL: A YOUNG BUSINESS ACHIEVER, 27 YEARS OLD, MOST CARRIER-ORIENTED, HOT-SHOT GUY FROM U.S., ALTHOUGH HIS FAMILY ARE STAYING HERE IN DELHI. AND HE IS GEET'S PROBABLE HUSBAND, AS GEET'S PARENTS & DEV'S PARENTS ARE FAMILY FRIENDS & THEY HAVE ALREADY FIXED THEIR MARRIAGE.
THERE ARE FEW OTHER CHARACTERS ALSO, BUT THEY WILL BE INTRODUCED LATER AS THE STORY PROCEEDS. SO, WHAT SAY GUYS, LETS BEGIN THE STORY.
PART:1
Place- Handa house. It's early morning, still the members of the house are looking so very busy . It seems they are expecting someone very special today in their house. Geet's mom, dad, brother, Darji, uncle, aunty everyone is looking very much excited. Geet has been told not to attend her college today, as her would be groom Dev is coming there to meet her for the 1st time. Actually Geet is not very much agreed with this type of early marriages, but she knows that she belongs to such an orthodox family where she is destined to be married one day with that guy chosen by her parents only. Although she is an educated girl of next-gen, still she can't ignore these social taboos. From her childhood she has been taught that in her family a girl shouldn't have any own opinion, any desire, her destiny should be written down by her family only. Although her family allowed her to go to college, but she knows that after completing college she has to tie the knot with some stranger, decided by her daarji, her father, her brother. She has no permission to dream, no permission to decide, actually no permission to live by her own. But somewhere in a small corner of her mind she safely keeps those special feelings for her prince charming. Like any other girls she is also used to linger her 'Sapno ka Rajkumaar', her prince charming by counting the stars on the sky in the darkest nights when the whole world emerges into deep sleep. She doesn't know whether Dev is the guy for whom she has been waiting for. But on the other hand she also can't ignore her family's decision. She even doesn't understand how to react; actually she is quite confused about the sudden divergence from a college going free bird to a 'to be married' lady kind of stuff. Anyways the Handa family warmly welcomes their would be son-in -law. Dev is there with his family, his Mom, Dad, & a Brother. Geet has been introduced to Dev, but he seems to be quite reluctant to Geet or any stuff related to marriage. Dev's Mom asks Geet a few formal questions, like 'what does she study, or what about her hobbies, but Dev is hardly taking any interest in these interactions. He is busy with his Blackberry, mailing some stuff to his U.S Office. The whole meeting continues about 20-30 mins, & in those time span Dev says only a "Hii" to Geet. His behavior looks quite odd to Geet also. After they dispersed, Geet's Mom (Rano) calls Geet's Brother (Brij) separately.
Rano: Brij beta, mujhe yeh Dev kuch ajeeb laga'.kuch thikse baat hi nahi ki uunhone.
Brij: Maa, aap chinta mat kijiye, yeh log bade log hai, hamari Geet bahut khus naseeb hai, jo usshe iitna achha ladka milne wala hai. Aapko pata hai kitna bada business hai iinhka , aur sara sabkuch yeh Dev akela hi sambhalta hai.
Rano: Hain , pata hai , tumhare papaji ke purane dost hain Mittal sahab'..bas isshiliye hi main chup'.Rano couldn't complete her sentences as Darji calls her for some tea.
Night time, Geet is standing nearby the window, looking quite disturbed, Rano slowly moves toward her & puts her hand on Geet's shoulder.
Rano: Beta, tum pareshan ho'.?
Geet: Maa woh Dev'..
Rano: Pata hai Beta, par chinta naa kar, Daarji aur Brij ne sab kuch soch samajh kar hi yeh faisla liya hai. Tuh wahan bahut khus rahegi meri bachhi.
Geet: Par Maa, main aur padhna chahti hun'kaya abhi shadi karna zaruri hai.
Rano: Beta, Daarji ne college jane ki permission di thi naa , aur beta aur jayda padhayee karke kaya karogii, waise bhi hamare weradari mein ladki o ko jayda padhane ka riwaz nahi hai.
Geet: Par Maa'main'
Rano: Tuh janti hain na Beta, iish ghar mein hum aurat o ki marzi kabhi nahi chali.
Geet: Main toh unhe jaanti bhi nahi thik tarhase'baat bhi nahi huyee, aise ek anjaane se kaise shadi kar luin.
Rano: Ohh toh yeh baat hain, iishi baat ko lekar meri beti iitni pareshan hai, koi baat nahi'mere pass iishka iilaaz hai naa'..iishbar jab phone aayega tere sasuraal se, main uunse kahungi key Dev ko kahe tujhse ekbaar akele mein milne ko.
'Sasuraal' this word makes Geet shy away, she just keeps her head down under Rano's shoulder. A tear forms on Rano's eyes. Rano cups her face with so much care & Love.
Rano: Aur kaya pata beta, ho sakta hai yehi tera woh sapno ka rajkumaar ho, jiska tuh hamesha iintezaar karti rahti hai.
Geet: Maa'Geet is so surprised'.aapko yeh sab kaise'.!!!
Rano: Maa hun teri, iitna bhi naa samajh paayungii kaya'
Geet: Par Maa, agar Dev hi mere woh sapno ka rajkumaar naa huye toh'
Rano: Toh bhi tumko uunhike saath zindegi bitani hai beta'..these words are so hard-hitting to Geet's ear'..hain beta, iish ghar mein hum apni marzi se kuch nahi kar sakte, kuch nahi'Rano hugs Geet tightly & bursts into tears. Geet can't say anything, her eyes also get teary. She prays to Babaji''Hey babaji , Dev hi ho mere woh sapno ka rajkumaar.
Far from Handa House, in Delhi Stadium, a big Cricket match-The Ranji Trophy championship Delhi V/s the last time champion Mumbai team is going on. Delhi needs 4 runs in the last ball to win, looking impossible to get scored. The whole stadium is shouting around a single name'..MAAN'' MAAN'' MAAN'..as that most talented young batsman in Delhi's team is on to the field. He is going to play the last ball of the match'The bowler bowls that last delivery'..Maan hits it with all of his strength, the whole Stadium stops shouting for a moment'..
