Dear Silent Readers,

I implore you to please write comments and press like button to let me know how I am doing. Without comments there is no way for me to improve and these comments are my sole motivation. I send out 300 PMs and spend hours writing, reviewing and editing each part. I only get 7-8 pages worth of comments and less than 150 likes. You yourself tell me if it is fair?

Thanks to all my buddies who took out time to write comments and encourage me with their kind words and feedback. This update is for all of you. I just did not have a heart to leave you all in the middle of this sad track.

I will try one more update this weekend otherwise next update will be next weekend.

Chapter 61 – Session Two

Maan had spent two nights thinking about his talk with Dr. Mehta. He realized that his parent's reaction was normal and not related to his past. Finally his heart was able to let go of his guilt of embarrassing his parents and spoiling their dignity. Somewhere he understood their reaction and was no more pained by it. He had become friendlier towards his family and was talking to them.

But his hesitance towards Geet remained. He still felt unworthy of her love and guilty of the pain he put her through.

Two days Later – Dr Mehta's clinic

Dr Mehta – "Geet, will you wait outside. I will call you in after some time"

Geet nodded and sat down in empty waiting area.

Dr Mehta ensured that Maan made himself comfortable in one of the couches.

Dr Mehta – "So Maan how are you feeling?"

Maan answered dismissively – "Ok"

Dr Mehta started without preamble - "So let's start where we left last time…hmmm…we were talking about what you could have done to avoid this situation…are you ready to talk about it now?"

Maan answered aggressively – "It is simple….isn't it…I should not have taken that drink from her…I should not have stayed when Geet wasn't there"

Dr Mehta – "So why did you?"

Maan thought as if he was searching for the answer – "Geet was on the way and she is her cousin dammit…I never thought something like this can happen…something like this…in my own home"

"So again in hindsight nothing really could have been done to avoid it"

Maan just stared in empty space trying to register…trying to understand the words coming out of Dr Mehta's mouth. Was it really not my fault…was there really nothing I could have done?

Dr Mehta tried to reiterate – "Whatever happened had to happen. It was destiny…it was Naintara's thoughts and actions which were responsible isn't it"

Dr Mehta gave Maan few minutes to absorb those thoughts.

After some time, he gently placed a hand on his shoulder – "Is it ok if I call Geet now?"

Maan came out of his reverie – "Hmmm"

Dr Mehta called Geet and made her sit a little away from Maan on different set of Sofa. Maan heard with attention as Dr Mehta conversed with Geet.

Dr Mehta – "Are u happy with the way you exposed Naintara?"

Geet did not understand the relevance of the question but just answered – "Yes here is nothing wrong with what I did …I just want Maan to be happy as it was not his fault"

Dr Mehta persisted – "But why?...why did you take such a bold step of finding the truth that way…you made such a big gamble…did your trust not shake like his parents did….and if not, then do you blame them for this distrust in their only son"

"No not really….everything, every proof, the whole situation said he did it."

"Then why did you believe in him?"

Geet had no hesitation in answering Dr Mehta – "Only person I trust more than Maan is God and even if God came and told me Maan did something knowingly to hurt me I won't believe. Then how could I believe Maan when he said it. I did not know at that time what he did or not but I knew that if he did something with her he must have been mistaken…he must have seen me in her."

Maan just stared at Geet as she answered. He was shaken by her explicit trust.

Maan blanched at the next question as Dr Mehta continued – "So u were not bothered by thought of his being intimate with someone else physically?"

But Geet was not even flustered and answered back confidently – "For me love is more of an emotional state than physical. Physical is just a mean to express that mental state. He may have touched someone else but if he thought it was me then really in his mind it was me. He was still making love to me"

"If you trust him so much than why are you still angry at him?"

Geet looked on. For the first time she hesitated – "I am not angry…I am just sad"

Dr Mehta shook his head in denial. He placed his hand lovingly on her's – "No Geet…don't lie today. Let it go…let it all go…tell me why are you angry at Maan?

Maan was startled by her outburst. Her words rang in his ears as anger subsided into tears.

"Because he betrayed me….he did not believe in my love….in my trust….he thinks he is unworthy of me…how can he…who gave him that right…how could he think he was alone….how could he think so low about himself…he did not defame himself…he defamed my love…my trust for him…I love him with every fiber in me but it was not enough…it was not enough for him"

Geet completely broke down while Maan looked at his love in pain. "God what have I done…she trusted me with everything and I just gave her pain…I was so lost in my own world I did not understand her…I was so wrapped up that I did not understand her anguish…I though I was going through hell and did not want to pull her with me whereas it was he…she was already therer and I pushed her there….pushed her there with my silence…with my self absorbance and self pity"

Dr Mehta smiled and looked at the expression on Maan's face. "See Maan, u have a chance now…choice to go for your ideal option"

Maan just nodded and could not stop himself anymore. Geet's tears had washed away the lingering doubts in his mind. He could not bear her pain any more. Her tears were like daggers cutting his heart….cleansing his soul of the burden of guilt he carried. He just came and hugged her.

"I am sorry…I am sorry Jaan…Please mat ro…please…I am there with you forever Mishti…I know I have been such a jerk…please meri Mishti mujhe maaf nahin karegi?"

Geet just hugged him tighter as if her life depended on it. She whimpered in his arms and those tears brought calmness to their raging hearts. His endearing words brought the peace to two souls who had been tortured because of the nightmare they had lived in last few days.

awesome update so at last the therapy worked maan was out of that state and feeling sorry what he has done to his family and his jaan and loved the trust geet have in his maan her words were just telling how much she loves him continue soon
