Part 21 - Last part


She was waiting for him to come home. She was very excited and at the same time a bit nervous. Things have changed so much after that day. Her life has now started to move again and this time in the right direction. It was the first time in her life that she thought she took the right decision. The traces of that night were etched clearly in her mind.

Before 1 month


She slowly whispered "I Love You" and kissed his forehead. Sid just looked at her speechless. "I will always love you! Till my death" she said and softly kissed his lips.
With hardly a breath separating them, Sid's eyes searched Riddhima's with questioning intensity. Riddhima responded with abandon, pressing her lips to his with an urgency and passion that overwhelmed Sid. Their lips met and their bodies trembled in response. Riddhima held him tighter, baring her heart and soul to his kiss and his love. Their arms moved of their own accord to pull each other tighter and as their kiss deepened, leaving no room even for air to breath, everything else vanished into emptiness - the shadows of their past shrunk away as the passionate warmth of their love, of their belonging engulfed them and united them.

Long minutes later, they pulled away from the kiss and Sid rested his forehead against hers, gazing at her lovingly. Riddhima's eyes gently fluttered open and shone with the radiance of their love and with unshed tears. Sid gently brushed away the tear at the corner of her eye, knowing that it was one of joy. Ever so softly, she whispered again "I love you Sid." The softly spoken words warmed his heart and he smiled at her contently before pulling her back to into a hug.

It was after many days that both of them had a peaceful sleep. Riddhima happy that she was safe in his arms and that she would forever be with him and Sid glad that she was happy. He saw her sleeping peacefully and gently patted her head like a parent putting a baby to sleep. He noticed the faint smile playing on her lips and softly whispered "I love you too Riddhima" and kissed her forehead.

With the first ray of sunlight Riddhima woke up and it took few seconds for her to realize where she was and immediately her cheeks turned red seeing the person beside her. Sid! She was in his arms the whole night. The thought gave her goosebumps. She looked at him. As usual he had his lips slightly parted and innocence was clearly visible on his angelic face. She couldn't resist and bent down slowly till she reached his lips. Her lips almost touched his when she heard someone knock the door. She immediately withdrew and was ready to get up to see who it was but she couldn't. It just struck her that she had an injured hand and leg and yesterday she even removed the cast! Suddenly it started aching and an "ouch!" came out from her mouth. The door was being knocked again and she looked at Sid for help. She hated to disturb him from his sleep but she had to and patted him gently "Sid.. Sid" There wasn't any response. She slowly increased her pitch and called out his name again. He didn't stir from his position. On one side the door was being knocked continuously and on the other side he wasn't getting up. Her glance fell on the glass of water at the bedside to the side where Sid was sleeping. She wobbled and tried to get hold of it and in the struggle fell on Sid's chest. This commotion made the glass of water fall on the ground with the sound of scattered glass pieces echoing the room.
Sid got up with a jerk and started shouting "Chor! Chor! Chor!" even before he opened his eyes.
"Sshh Sid" Riddhima hushed placing her finger on his lips. Hearing her voice and sensing sensing the touch he opened his eyes widely and found her upon him. His expressions transitioned from shocked to an evil smirk. He kissed her finger and Riddhima shyly removed the finger from his lips embarrassed. Sid saw her blushing and smiled.

"Riddhima you're so impatient!" he smirked.

"Shut up!" she lovingly hit him on his chest. "Go and open the door!"

"For that you need to let me go" he replied innocently

Riddhima blushed and moved aside with his help. Sid placed her on the bed and got up to leave. He went to the door of the bedroom and turned back. She was looking at him. He came back running, kissed her cheek and went away in a second. It took few seconds for Riddhima to realize what just happened and she placed her hand at the place where he kissed and smiled shyly.

"What were you doing Sid?" asked Nethra worried. In fact all three of them were anxious to know what happened the previous day but were even more worried since it was taking so long for them to open the door.

"Err. Nothing. Was sleeping" and turned back into the house.

The three exchanged questioning glances.

"How is di?" inquired Shilpa and was walking towards her bedroom.

"She's fine" he muttered

Everyone finished having their lunch and sat in a circle talking about things. They observed that Sid and Riddhima were behaving abnormal. Sid was humming songs happily and was over active since morning while Riddhima was always seen smiling. They also saw both of them exchange glances and staring at each other until someone spoke or tapped them.
Earlier that day Sid and Riddhima decided to tell them about their being together again but they didn't decide who is gonna let out the matter. After a long time Sid decided it would be better for him to tell than to wait for Riddhima and went and sat beside her on the couch. Everyone's eyes followed him. He took her hand in his and held it tightly. He didn't know how to start and uttered the two words "Patch up!" and looked at Riddhima and then at the others. There was a momentary silence just like the calm before a storm.

"Yayyy!!!" everyone shouted and went and hugged them as well as each other.

Manish and Shilpa came closer to hug each other with excitement and suddenly stopped. Shilpa wasn't sure whether she should hug him or just shake hands and before she could make a choice Manish hugged her tight and whispered "Your plan worked!" and turned back to congratulating Sid and Riddhima. Shilpa stood rooted in her place and was staring at Manish. The moment he hugged her she felt different actually she felt good. She looked in his direction and saw him happily hugging Nethra and Sid and exchanging high-fives. He really looked good when he smiled she thought. Her lips formed a slight curve as she kept looking at him until she realized what she was doing and shook her head walking towards Nethra and Riddhima.

Everyone was more than happy that finally the bad things came to an end. Sid was back to being normal and so were Riddhima and Shilpa. Sid and Riddhima thanked the three of them for their 'plan' and appreciated their effort in uniting them.

After few days Riddhima was now able to walk properly and the cast on her hand was removed. She recovered completely maybe because of the extra care and love of her man and her sister and her new found friends Manish and Nethra. Manish and Nethra used to visit Panchgani once a week while Sid shifted his base. He hated being away from Riddhima even for a second and so was she.

The next big thing was confronting Shashank and Padma and informing Sid's parents as well. They had many problems to face, many questions to be answered, many coaxings to be done after which both the families agreed to their pleadings and accepted their relation. Sid and Riddhima didn't forget Shilpa in all this confusion and made sure she was introduced 'properly' to Shashank and Padma this time. They readily extended welcoming arms and made her a part of their family. Shilpa was very touched at this gesture of theirs and thanked God for finally giving her what she craved for since almost twenty years! She also found a good friend and support in the form of Manish though she was not willing to accept the fact that she was falling for him with every passing day.

"Today our souls will make a promise of being together forever" she thought as she was still waiting for him to return from the office. Now that everything was normal they were back to home in Mumbai, their sweet little pent house. Riddhima extended her leave to set things right and Sid re joined Sanjeevani and took hold of the responsibilities. Since the hard times of their lives were gone forever Riddhima decided its the right time for surrendering herself totally to Sid. The thought of it brought unknown feelings revolving in her mind. The thought of her future with Sid, the thought of being in his arms forever, the thought of having their children! Children?! Sid was so fond of kids. Wonder how good a parent would he be! She washed off the thoughts thinking there was a long time left for all this and picked up the remote randomly switching channels.

Sid wasn't able to concentrate on his work today. He had to be home by six and now it was eight! He had the desire of strangling Dr. Keerti. Why did she have to make him work so much? Riddhima might be waiting for him. He remembered how she asked him to come home early for a surprise. But here he was stuck with pending files and cases! Just then he saw Dr, Keerti coming towards him. He collected all the files and ran towards her and explained the details of the work he has done. She nodded and was about to leave when Sid asked her if he can leave to which she approved and unknowingly saved herself from being virtually killed by him.

The door bell rang and Riddhima rushed excitedly to open the door. She peeked through the keyhole. It was him! She immediately opened the door and before she could greet him he took her in his arms and lifted her off from the ground.

"I missed you!" he said as he put her down and placed a small peck on her lips.

Riddhima smiled. "I missed you even more my cute hubby!" she said and lightly pinched his cheeks. "Now go and change. Lets have dinner"

"Okay wifey darling" he said and walked to his room.

Riddhima excitedly went to the kitchen and set everything ready for dinner before Sid came out from the room. He wore her favorite white kurta and pyajama and was looking freaking awesome. Riddhima couldn't take her eyes off him and stood in her place with her gaze fixed on her Mr. Charming. Sid came closer to her and called out "Riddhima!" bringing her back to where she was. "I'm feeling hungry" he pouted and rubbed his stomach.

Riddhima prepared a candle light dinner for them. Sid enjoyed having the food as she made all his favorites. They didn't speak much during dinner as Sid was busy eating and satisfying his hunger while Riddhima kept adoring him.

They both sat on the bed talking about random things.

"I'm bored Riddhima!" he said

"Hmm.. Why don't we play something?" she smirked.

"Play? Okay don't tell me you want to play scramble! I'm very bad at it!"

"No! We'll play something interesting!" she said with a witchy smile on her face.

"Interesting huh?" Sid said coming closer to her.

"Ahaan! Not so early" she said moving away from him.

The disappointment on his face was clearly visible. She didn't want to disappoint him but she was thoroughly enjoying what she was doing.

"Okay so let's play something we used to play when we were young"

Sid just nodded his head plainly "Hmm"

"What about Hide and Seek?" she asked excitedly

"What? Are you out of your mind? Hide and Seek? Here? I know every nook and corner of this house Mrs. Modi"

"Okay then take this as a challenge Mister Modi!" she said in response

"Bring it on!" he said

Riddhima took out a black silken cloth and covered hi eyes. She pulled his hands to his back and tied them up too.

"What's this? Am I not supposed to just close my eyes?"

"What if you take out your eye band with your hands hun?"

"You give me ideas Riddhima! I never even thought of this!" he said and was equally excited to play this game now!

"Okay count till 100" she said and slipped away into the bathroom.

Sid started counting 1..2..3..4...20..50..80..99

"Its almost done Mrs. Modi. 99 and 100. I am coming!" he declared.

"No. Just few more seconds please" she shouted from somewhere.

"Such a cheater you are! You need to hide by the time I finish counting!" he chided warmly

He heard her footsteps nearing him. The sweet smell of her perfume filled his nostrils. She slowly came near him and untied his hands putting them around her waist and without a second to waste he pulled her close to him. He could feel her breath and his heart was beating with twice the normal speed. He felt her body touching his and he could feel her heart beat with the same pace.
"Is it? Sorry. I didn't know the rules" she whispered. It was like their faces were just few millimeters apart.

"Ridd.." he tried to say something but before this he sensed his right cheek becoming warm with the touch of her cheek. She slowly whispered in his ear "I LOVE YOU" and ever so softly kissed the tip of his ear.

Sid smiled contently. He wanted to hear her say it once again. As if she understood what he wanted she again whispered the three words this time in the other ear and pecked his lips. Their foreheads met and they were content.

"Riddhima. Will you not untie my eyes? I want to see my beautiful wife"

"Beautiful isn't sufficient Sid. You've got to impress me more!" she chuckled

Sid couldn't think of anything at that moment except fruits which he just had in his dessert.

He ran his fingers on her face "The best slice of watermelon is beautifully carved out to make your forehead" he whispered.

"Hmm.. And"

His fingers slightly came down "If at all there exist brown grapes then it would definitely have been your eyes!" and he kissed both her eyes.

His lips slowly traced her cheeks. This sent shivers down her spine. He kissed them and said "These might have turned as red as strawberries by now" to which she blushed.

"Hmm.."

"The orange segments were designed to replicate my angel's swirling lips.Your lips resemble the purple passion fruit" he said and locked his lips with hers. She immediately gave in with the fervor and passion that he evoked in her. Their tongues played with each other for some time and the kiss lasted for a few seconds until they withdrew coz of lack of breath. Before resuming talking he again kissed her warm and moist lips to relive the moment.

"Your neck.." he moved his head to her neck "Pineapples and avocados combined are of no match to it" and he kissed her neck moving on to her nape. Riddhima's grip on his hair was tightening with his every move. She closed her eyes tightly enjoying and relishing the moment.

"Sid" she kept whispering as he kissed her neck n then her nape.

"And your.."

"Ssshh.." she said and opened the eye band.

Sid was surprised to see her like this. She was in the nightgown he gifted her long long ago. She wore it once before on her birthday but at that time the situation wasn't apt. And now she looked even more sensuous in it as if inviting him to take her over. He swept her off her feet and carried her to the bed. He gently put her down and kissed her again. Now she was on top of him. He removed the lock of hair falling on her face with his finger slowly tracing her face and kept looking into her eyes. She bent down a little and placed a soft kiss on his lips. The flickering candles were put off by the wind and the room became dark. This night was the night of reunion - of two souls which always belonged to each other had now become one.

Even I wanted to show a beautiful SR confrontation followed by a long C-nite but wat to do *sigh* I'm so tied up wid my preparations to enter the corporate world! 😒

And this update was so rushed up! 😆 The awesome threesome knowing about SR and their families accepting them and Shilpa was too fast (as in one line!😆) But u c I'm helpless..

Though I'm happy that I completed it I'm sad at the fact that I didn't do justice to the story. So please accept my apologies 😔
