Part 9

Sidharth watched Abhay walking towards the tree he was staying up, and settling down. ' What is he doing here ? Shouldn't he be searching for the werewolf ?'

He saw Abhay looking around, as if waiting for something or someone. Then it clicked him. ' Is he crazy? Using himself as bait !! What if he got hurt, or even worse killed?'

Five minutes into the talk and Jay was already feeling bored. Misha was literally eating his head with her ideas about how he can be friends with Piya and the benefits associated with it. ' This.. is her idea.. about peace-talk ??!! No wonder her friends stay away from her crazy plans. But I 've to admit, she has the guts.'

" Jay !! Are you listening to me ? "

" Oh sure. In fact, I was just imagining the plus points you were talking about."

" Really ??!! That's great !! " beamed Misha, gearing up for more.

' Oh no, looks like I 've encouraged her. God, save me. ' prayed Jay. And his prayers were soon answered by a phone call.

As time went by, both the brothers were getting restless. It was already midnight, yet no sight of any werewolf. Sidharth was thinking of climbing down to face Abhay, when they heard a howl. Sidharth became vigilant while Abhay tried to look weak and careless.

To their surprise, no wolf came their way. Instead they heard a girl's scream. Abhay thought it sounded familiar but there was no time to waste figuring out who it belonged to. He rushed in the direction the sound came from, while Sidharth followed him at a safe distance. They saw an unconscious girl, lying face down on the ground, with a werewolf about to touch her.

Abhay turned into his vampire self and attacked it. He pushed it far away from the girl but allowed it to attack him, barely keeping it from killing him, till he could figure out a way to bleed it. And finally he managed to get its blood. But what he didn't expect was the entry of few more wolves. Time was running out and he needed to reach Chand. But these wolves were blocking his path. Abhay was turning desperate when suddenly a dark, hooded figure joined his fight. The new guy cleared his path to escape. Abhay didn't move, wondering about the other's safety.

" Don't waste time. Go save Dad." shouted the guy.

Something was familiar about this person too but Abhay had no time to spare now. He raced home just in time to save Chand.

Abhay informed them that a stranger helped him to get the blood. Now he had to return the favor. Hasina immediately realised who the stranger was. Now was the right time to tell them about Sidharth.

Abhay ran back to the jungle while wondering about what had happened. ' The guy who helped me...He must be a vampire or a werewolf, to be so strong to fight the werewolves. And he said save Dad. The only other person who can call him Dad is Sidharth. But I killed him with my own hands. Then how is it possible ? '

" Chand, the stranger who helped Abhay...Its Sidharth."

" What ??!! But how did he return ??!! "

" Panchi brought him back, accidently. But he has changed for good. "

" And when were you planning to tell us ? "

" I was about to tell you but then you were attacked. He returned just the day before your attack, when you both weren't here."

" He has never given a chance to trust him. And he did fool you last time."

" Trust me, he has changed. Just give him a last chance."

" Hasina... human emotions are not good for us."

" Please Chand. For my sake."

A long silence followed, while Chand took sometime to reply. " Ok, for your sake. But that doesn't mean he's free of suspicion. "

Hasina was relieved that Sidharth was being given one more chance. Now only Abhay was left.

Abhay reached just in time to see that the stranger was struggling to fight away the wolves from himself and the girl. He joined him and together they fought off the wolves. But before they could catch one to interrogate, all the wolves escaped.

" Thank you for helping me. You don't know how grateful I am."

" It wasn't a favor. It was my duty as well." replied the stranger, removing his hood.

" Sidharth ??!! " Abhay stared at his brother in shock.
