Chapter-86

The Maze of Seven Questions

The first look, inside the Bogus mirror was not less than a confused nightmare. They could see numerous images of themselves on the mirrors placed parallel to each other.

-"Nicky, Fiza, doesn't this look like Mirror Maze we see in the Infinity Mall?" Nidha said.

-"We are in the past Nidha" Jeh interrupted, "Malls doesn't exist in this world" he said looking here and there trying to find a way.

-"God knows how many hundreds of years we have travelled back" Arnav expressed, tensed.

Nidha looked down at the foot of the mirrors.

-"Guys, look here" Nidha pointed out.

Fiza and Nicky heaved a sigh of relief.

"Now this is just like the infinity mall maze" she added, glaring at Jeh.

-"There is a track thinly painted beneath few mirrors" Tirtha said, "usually for the people to know the path"

-"and I thought Bogus mirror maze shows some real supernatural thrill instead of copying from our malls, hmph" Arnav said. Tirtha looked at him amused.

-"what are we waiting for?" abhay said. "let's follow"

As they reached the end of the chamber of mirror maze, they entered a dark path.

-"this is where wannabe ghosts in radium masks come to scare people" fiza said. Everyone looks at her, "in mall's maze" she added.

Nidha, who was scared of this part, clutched Jeh's hand unknowingly, "what if the same happens here too?"

A sudden lit of small fire grabbed everyone's attention. It was Jeh who put his other hand in the pocket and took out his lighter. He clicked it so as to have a look at Nidha's face. She turned her head to him as they both share an eyelock. Drops of sweat dripped from her quivering lips, shimmered in rose pink gloss.

-"Thank God, you have got lighter" Arnav's words got them back. "Here, give it to me" he grabbed it from Jeh's hand.

'Control Jeh' he said to himself. And started walking, unable to remove Nidha's hand from his.

-"Guys it's better we hold each other if we don't want to get lost in darkness" Arnav suggested.

-"I'm cool with it" Tirtha immediately grabbed his hand. Arnav gasped at her touch.

Fiza and Nikki were clutching each other hard in fear. While Abhay was carrying unconscious half-alive Ragini in his arms.

It has been hours they were walking in the darkness. The fuel inside the lighter was finished and the fire was put out with a pop sound.

-"Holy shit!" Abhay yelled.

-"that's fine, I can put it on" arnav said.

Before he could do anything, hundreds of bats screeched and passed by.

"LIE DOWN EVERYONE" Nikki shouted. All were down in the nick of time, except for Abhay who was late just by a milli second and due to this Ragini in his arms was injured badly, when he tried self defence. Her blood spilled.

And this made Abhay and Arnav very uncomfortable. Abhay has been a vegetarian and Arnav never fed on blood. Ragini on the other hand being half dead seemed like smoked chicken. More tempting.

Abhay walked away quicky from there.

'ILLUMINOUS' Arnav spelled with difficulty as the lighter lit again.

Nikki used her powers to heal Ragini.

-"I really doubt.." "My powers aren't working?" she was surprised.

Tirtha checked on her, Arnav was little away, puking at a corner.

-"Her nerves are giving up" she confirmed, "the bats have some poison in them"

All looked at her, her body is getting blue.

Jeh turned.

-"Abhay, where's Abhay?"

Tirtha tried to track him with her vision.

-"He is out of even my reach" she told them.

Just one attack and everyone's unity was on rocks.

-"Irresponsible that he is" Jeh scorned. "How could he move away like that. He was supposed to be woman savior isnt it, now it's because of him that Ragini is in this state??"

-"this could have happened with anyone jeh" nidha defended abhay.

-"this is not some sort of joke nidha.. we cannot afford to make mistakes.." jeh shouted making nidha angry.

-"What if Ragini is dead?" fiza asked, crying.

-"shubh shubh bolo fiza.." nikki stopped her.

"we cannot afford to anyone. Understood. ANYONE."

-"Nikki is right.. " Tirtha said, "everyone is here on a purpose. If Ragini dies, it would be impossible to get one question. And remember we'll reach the scepter only if we solve all the questions"

And then they hear Arnav puking again.

Tirtha goes to Arnav and puts her hand on his shoulder.

-"It's ok. You'll be fine" she said in the huskiest voice. "Don't give up on yourself" Arnav looked at her, it was both soothing and consoling.

-"Abhay," Nikki said, "we need to find him"

Jeh scooped Ragini in his armas and started walking. He felt bad looking at her, her body was all blue. For a second he thought, she was better in grave.

Chapter-87

The White Apple

Finally after walking for a long time they have reached the end of the darkness.

-"Guys there's a way out" Nidha pointed.

-"and it seems open.. I can have fresh air.. it was suffocating in the dark tunnels.." fiza said.

They all came out. It was a jungle. They turned back to see that the path from which they entered looks like a den.

-"Looks like a vast jungle, but it's a part of maze" Tirtha said. All nodded.

They looked all the sides to decide which way to go.

-"abhay should have atleast waited here" nikki said.

-"That's strange.. "Nidha said, "abhay is so responsible. Then how could he have gone somewhere like that"

-fiza second her, "I was thinking the same. If Ragini's blood disturbed him then he would have waited here, at the end of the tunnel knowing that we would come"

Jeh was rubbing Ragini's feet and hands. But it was of no use.

Tirtha was trying her visions, while Nikki was using her powers on Ragini again. But in vain.

-"OMG!!" Arnav said all of a sudden.. "We are in the 8^th century"

-"oh some 1600 years back.." Tirtha said.

-"No, we are in the 8^th century BC.. not AD" he said.

All were shocked..

-"Are you sure?" Jeh asked..

-"I am" he said in affirmative.

"You see this tree" he pointed, "this tree is called Kahkashan tree' found in 8^th century BC in Balochistan"

All looked at each other in disbelief'

-"Don't tell me that we are in Balochistan" Nikki warned lifting her fingers at him.

Arnav smirked, putting her finger down.

-"Unfortunately witchy'" he raised his eyebrow, "we are"

Ragini's veins were giving up quickly. They all decided that they need to go somewhere. All started walking, while Jeh was carrying Ragini in his arms. They all stopped at a place.

A caravan.

-"perhaps, they'd help us" Nidha said.

All the tribal people of the caravan looked at them as if they are some aliens.

-"shouldn't it be us who need to look at them like that.." Jeh whispered to Nidha. "I mean look at their clothes, as if some fancy dress competition is going on.."

The tribal people, both men and women had very long tresses, adorned with colorful pins. All had worn similar dresses.. white robes with multi color patterns..

-"I'll talk to them.." arnav went forward.

An elderly man stood front in line..

-"Ji, aadaab." Arnav lifted his hand, "hum yahan musafir hain, hamara ek saathi ghayal hua hai.. hame aapki madad ki zaroorat hai,, kya aap'"

-"Ji bilkul'" the sardar said, "aap hamare mehmaan hai'"

He called an old man who is called as the pakeer baba.. he checked on Ragini and understood that she has been bitten by a poisonous bat.

-"Inki bachne ka koi umeed nahi hai.." he declared.

-"kya?" fiza broke.

-"baba.." jeh persuaded him, "aap aisa mat kahiye.. koi toh upaay hoga.."

-the old man put his hand on his shoulder, "janaab, inke bachne ka koi upaay sambhav nahi hai.. Inhe ek zehreele chamgadar ne vaar kiya hai.. aur unki zeher ka koi tod nahi hai.."

Meanwhile Tirtha noticed the tension in his eyes. Being a vampire she was able to read his thoughts.

-"kya aap kuch chupa rahe hai baba" she asked him politely.

He was stunned.

"dekhiye.. aap humpar bharosa keejiye.. agar koi baat hai jo aap hame batana chahte hai toh beshak batayiye.. hum apne saathi ko bachane ke liye kisi bhi had tak jaa sakte hain" she assured him.

-"mahurtarma' kehte hai, zehreele chamgadhar ka tod sirf ek safed seb hai, jo hamein iss jungal ki prab ki aur ek talaab mein milega.. lekin wahan jaana khatre se khali nahi kyun wahan ek chudail ka thikaana hai.." baba pakeer explained.

-"humph.. chudail ko chudail se kya darr??" nikki brushed it off. All gave her a look and she bit her lips.

-"kya matlab?" the sardar asked curiously'

-"huh' woh.. mera matlab hai ki.. hum wahan jaana chahenge.." nikki covered it up.

After taking instructions, they made their way to the east of the jungle as they said.

The finally found a pond'

Inside a pond:

A witch was looking at the six strangers and an unconscious lady in her palms, that seemed like mirrors for looking at the outside world.

"HAHAHAHA''''. HAHAHAHAA'."

She laughed hysterically'

"yahan pe ek nahin, paanch paanch ladkiyan hai' jinhe main maarkar apna ghulam bana sakti hoon.."

HAHAHAA HAHAHAHA..

"aane toh do unhein'"

Outside the pond:

-"Do you think we should go inside?" Tirtha said.

-"No.. you are not going anywhere.. not without us atleast.." Jeh said.

-"But jeh didn't you listen to what pakeer baba has said' only virgin women can go inside" nidha said.

-"that's why I said.. you all are not going.. if anything happens down, we'll not be there to save you.." jeh told them decisively.

-"why the hell do you think women need men to protect them..?" nidha argued.. "we can protect ourselves.. get that straight in your head!"

-"STOP IT YOU TWO!" Arnav yelled.. "cant u understand the weight of the situation.. "This maze is planning to separate us. Abhay is missing.. ragini is unconscious and we men are not allowed inside.. '"

-"so am I" nikki added.

Everyone gave her a 'why' look.

She looked at them and then down, "hmmm I'm not a virgin"

Fiza and Nidha's eyes shape-shifted saucer like.

After some time:

Tirtha felt a sudden current flow in her legs as she stepped into the water. She came back immediately.

-"I may be more than 100 years old but I'm a virgin unlike Nikki then why am I not allowed?"

-"may be it's only for humans.." fiza said.

-"that's ridiculous' how can fiza alone deal with a witch?" nidha said. "I'll go with her"

-"No nidha'" nikki said.. "you have to be jeh.. even if we all get separated, you cannot get separated from him even for a second.."

All were having apprehension and thinking of alternatives to enter the pond.. Fiza looked at them all and held Ragini's hand tight. Before they could even sense it, she jumped into the pond with Ragini.

"FIZAAA!!!!"

All shouted, but it was too late'

I know how it is to write an update in a hurry,

You mostly end up writing what comes to your mind first...

The two updates are not at all bakwaas jaan...

They may not be your best but they are good.

This story has mainly been a hit and trial method...

Many mistakes, many turns...

But still it is close to my heart...

Coz in terms of supernatural this was my first...

Chapter-88

The First Answer

Inside the pond:

Fiza looked around herself. Ragini fell beside her, she checked if she is ok. But her situation was getting worse. She then had a clear view of the surroundings. It was hard to believe that it was inside a pond. It looked like an old fort setting with cow-webs and bugs all around. She felt guilty. Guilty for betraying her friends. But she knew they would never allow her alone and she had to do this all herself only. But looking at the scenario she felt weak. A drop of tear escaped her eyes and dropped onto her cheek.

*flash* Armaan slipping a ring carefully into Fiza's fingers. *flashback ended*

Armaan's face, his eyes, his love seem to have given her a confidence. She wiped the tear, determined.

She looked at Ragini and checked her pulse.

USSE THEEK HOTE DEHNA CHAHTI HO?

A voice came from some where..

-"kaun… kaun hai yahan?" fiza stammered first and completed her sentence.

HUM WAHI HAI JISSE TUM DHOONDTE AAYI HO..

The voice echoed.

CHALI AAO.. SEEDHA CHALI AAO..

Fiza knew she cannot be scared in the mission. She had to go ahead, without fear. She balanced Ragini by putting her one arm around her own neck and holding her by waist with another hand. She came straight and there was obviously no light. It was dim if not dark, as she reached that place from where she felt the voice she saw a skeleton hanging on the entrance. She panicked but moved ahead.

And then!

She saw a figure. Adored in gold was a attractive vixen like lady. Fiza started drawing out the comparisons between her and Nikki.

'so true, beauty is what lies in the heart' she thought.

Her long hair with golden heard gear, eyes kohled heavily and lined with shimmery green and a huge ring that was inserted protectively on her finger. Her plastic make up kind of face clearly told that she was going to trap Fiza.

LAJAWAAB..

She said.

Fiza narrowed her brows.

"TUMHARI KHOOBSOORTI".. she gave a wicked smile.

-"Mera naam Fiza hai aur ye.." she looked at Ragini, "Rajkumari Ragini.. aap krupaya karke isse bacha lijiye.. mujhe bas who safed seb chahiye. Iski jaan bach jaayegi. Khuda aapko hamesha salaamat rakhega"

The vixen laughed..

Outside the pond:

Her laugh was so loud that Jeh, Tirtha, Arnav, Nikki and Nidha could hear from outside.

"jeh did u hear!!! I'm telling U fiza di is in danger"

-"we cant even go inside.. I never felt so helpless in my life" Nikki was feeling pathetic from inside. Somewhere a thought occurred that she is a useless witch. Her powers are futile and worthless if she cannot save Fiza.

Inside the pond:

The witch was amused by Fiza's simple child like innocent wish.

YE KOI BACHCHO KA KHEL NAHI HAI.. she said still laughing.. ISS SEB KO PAANA BACHO KA KHEL NAHI HAI.

Fiza understood that asking directly and stupidly is not gonna work.

"Toh kaisa khel hai?" she asked steadily.

"main iss seb ke liye har khel khelne ke liye yaar hoon"

THEEK PEHCHAANA.. KHEL HAI. BADA HI AASAAN HAI. AGAR JEET JAOGI TOH SAFED SEB TUMHARA.

-"mujhe har chunauti manzoor hai" Fiza said.

SOCH LO MUHTARMA.. KYUN KI AGAR TUM HAAR GAYI TOH ISS RAJKUMARI KI JAAN TOH JAAYEGI, PAR SAATH SAATH TUMHE SAZAA MILEGI.. AUR JAANTI HO SAZAA KYA HAI??

SAZAA-E-MAUT.. she iniquitously pouted her lips.

Fiza looked at Ragini.

"khel shuru kiya jay?" she threw the attitude.

The witch smirked.

She created a two white apples and asked her to pick up the actual apple.

Fiza knew that there existed only one white apple. She even knew that witch doesn't want to give the apple, so she is playing games with her.

Fiza looked at all both apples.. they all looked similar. Mirror images. Still she had to play this game. She then picked an apple.

To her dismay, the witch laughed hysterically again.

It was a wrong apple.

The witch pointed her ring towards Fiza.

To escape Fiza threw that apple on her and began to ran away when she could see a fire explosion.

There was then an apple in the place where the witch died. Immediately they were transported outside the pond.

Outside the pond:

All are relieved to see her. Nidha and Nikki hugged her. After a brief reunion Fiza took that apple and made Ragini smell it.

Ragini opened her eyes. All the blue color on her skin vanished and she looked beautiful again.

All didn't knew what to say to her.

Jeh started, "Jaante hai galat tha ki aapko hum iss tarah lekar aana. Hum bas yaha hamare pehle sawaal ki talaash mein aaye aur.."

Ragini started laughing.

It was no way like the hysterical witch's laughs which Fiza heard few hours back. Ragini's laugh was so sweet that cuckoos could envy.

"tumhara pehla sawaal mere paas hai.." Ragini said.

Arnav's expressions were 'What the! Pehle pata hota toh itni door laane ki zaroorat nahi hoti' he mumbled.

'ye mujhe kehna chahiye' jeh added, 'usse uthaya toh maine hi tha' he sulked.

'will u both stop acting like teenagers. We are on an important mission for heaven's sake' Tirtha glared at them

"BOL NAHI HAI PAR HAMESHA SACH DIKHATA HAI.. LEKIN HUMSHAKAL MEIN FARAK NAHI KARTA" Ragini put forward the question which they need to answer immediately.

Fiza kept on thinking. What does it mean?

'Humshakal.. that means, me and .." looks at Ragini.

"Farak nahi karta?. Sach kehne wala…" Nikki thought.

" Keh nahi sakta..Defintely not a human." Arnav added.

All were confused.

-"AAINA" fiza answered loudly.

All looked at her.

"Sahi jawaab" with these words Ragini said, "Fiza ab main uss mukammal duniya mein mukti paa sakti. Tha chuki hoon ek zinda laash ki tarah rehte rehte. Tumne aaj mujhe aazaad kar diya"

Fiza had a faint smile on her lips.

"Mujhe chalna hoga" Ragini hugged Fiza and disappeared.

In the present:

Kabir could feel that the scepter is being destroyed. One-seventh part of scepter is cut and he felt less burdened. He immediately understood what his friends are upto. Now he just wished it is kept secret from Aldar and Niyala that the destruction of spectrum has started. Orelse they'd torture him more brutally to get the things done.

In the past:

After Ragini left, all were happy that they crossed the first level.

But they were unsure where will they go from now.

Suddenly the world behind them changed. It was as if the disappeared from that pond scenario and entered a rocky mountain area.

All looked at each other.

They were shocked that Fiza is no longer with them.

-"Fiza… where is Fiza di?" Nidha asked worriedly.

-"what's happening..? first abhay, and now Fiza.. why are all disappearing?" Nikki asked.

-"Stop worrying about Fiza." Tirtha interrupted, "she finished her job successfully. She has slved a question. By now she must have returned to her world ad hugging Armaan"

-"Tirtha is right" Jeh said, "That is how it works. Right now we need to worry only about Abhay"

-"But why are we here?" Arnav referred to the place.. "this place has nothing but a huge mountain and rocky area"

Nidha looked somewhere, "Jeh" she nudged him.. "I think there is a building on the mountain"

Jeh looked at the peak carefully. "I think I know this place"

Jeh creased his forehead..

"this place is called Parvathapur.. and the Queen is…."

OMG!!!!! Tirtha exclaimed.

Abhay is in extreme danger.
