Chapter 42
Fiza knew it was a mad idea to come to their haven at night time. But she needed answers for the weird flashes of scenes in her mind. Scenes where she was in a place much like this with someone most probably Ayesha.
She remembered attending Ayesha's call regarding coming here but then it was all blank.
"Fiz darling are you sure you were here last night? I mean it could be a dream right" Anky said nervously.
Anky was feeling a sense of de ja vu. But she couldn't let her friends wander alone in the night in this jungle. Fiza was rarely persistent but at times she could be downright adamant. Then there was no turning back. Right now she was in one such mood.
Sur who was walking close to Anky suddenly caught her hand when she heard a rustle. Anky jumped shrieking.
"You dumbo you could have warned" Anky shouted angrily.
"Sorry di I was just frightened" Sur said apologetically.
Anky cursed herself for loosing control. Her baby sister was obviously scared.
"Its okay princess hold my hand okay" Anky patted her hand reassuringly.
Sur gave a small smile. The girls resumed walking and reached the spot. Fiza looked around for any signs that any of them had been there.
After half an hour…
"Fiza there is nothing here….I think we should head back" Sanju said tiredly.
She sat down on the same rock the Fiza had sat on the other night. Her hand touched something cold. Sanju picked it up.
"Ayesha isn't this yours" Sanju asked frowning. From her hand a silver bracelet was dangling.
Ayesha stared at it in shock.
"This means we were here Fiza di" Ayesha whispered.
"Come on Aysh you could have left it on our first trip here too" Sur said shrugging.
"No I couldn't Sur because this was given to me two days ago……but why the heck can't I remember coming here" Ayesha said banging her hand on a tree.
"Ouch…… damn" Ayesha cursed as a sharp pain went through her hand. A sharp piece of wood had pierced it.
"Ayesha are you hurt" Fiza said rushing towards her.
"Don't worry its only a scratch" Ayesha brushed off.
"Guys lets go…we can think about this matter once at home" Nidha said. She turned to start walking off when a sound to the right alerted her.
She turned to look in the direction gulping with fear. Surprising herself she moved towards the area from where the sound had come.
"Nidha where the heck are you walking off too" Anky said going after her. A few feet ahead Nidha was standing as if frozen. Anky walked towards her and the site she saw paralyzed her too.
Standing in front of them were two enormous wolves. Their eyes were shining in the moonlight. Both the girls were rooted to the spot with fear.
Suddenly one of them lurched forward. The girls shrieked in fear and ran in the direction of their haven. They could hear the heavy paws of the wolves hitting the ground. They ran into others and dragged others too into a race against wolves.
Anky's feet got tangled in something and she fell down.
"Anky di" Nidha ran back to her. Ankys foot was sprained and bleeding as well.
Nidha looked back and found no wolves.
The other girls returned back.
"Oh god Di how will you walk now" Sur asked her eyes tearing up.
They heard footsteps coming towards them. They stared at each other in fear.
Their fears were quelled when they saw Kabir walking towards them. They sighed in relief.
"Are you all right girls….you all look like you have seen a ghost" Kabir asked looking at their flustered faces.
He hadn't noticed Anky at first. He saw her face strained with tears of pain.
"Is she okay" Kabir asked heading towards her. Anky glanced up at him.
"What happened?" he asked looking at her with slight concern.
"Her foot is sprained and bleeding" Sur explained tearfully.
Kabir looked at Sur and smiled.
"Calm down Sur we will get her home" Kabir said. He took the scarf from Anky's neck.
"Hey what the heck are you doing" Anky said.
"Don't worry I have no interest in you" Kabir scoffed.
He tied it around her foot. Anky looked slightly sheepish for doubting his intentions.
"It will hold for now but you need to see a doctor soon" Kabir said.
Armaan came rushing towards them. He grabbed Fiza by the arm.
"Fiza are you hurt? Are any of you hurt?" Armaan almost shouted.
"Armaan calm down we are fine….Anky's foot is sprained other than that we are fine" Fiza said looking into his eyes.
"But how did you guys reach here?" Ayesha asked confused.
"I was passing by when I saw Akanksha's car parked on the road…..thought something was fishy and decided to check out" Kabir explained.
"Same here" Armaan said.
Fiza frowned. If that was the case why was Armaan looking so worried?
Armaan read her thoughts and adjusted his expression.
"I think you girls should head home….its getting late" Armaan said.
"But Di can't walk and if we go home in this condition Mom will kill us" Sur almost cried.
"Guys we can go to my house….my parents are out and Rose my maid won't ask much questions" Nidha suggested.
"That's fine but first she needs to see a doctor" Kabir pointed towards Anky.
"Okay lets go to my home first…we can call in a doctor there….later I will drop you girls to Nidha's" Armaan said.
"Armaan Anky can't walk…if you one of you guys can pick her up" Fiza suggested.
"No problem" Kabir said and lifted Anky into his arms. Anky stared at him for a moment then lowered her eyes.
As they walked towards the car Nidha turned towards right. A pair of very familiar eyes were watching her and in a flash it was gone.
Armaan's house……
Armaan entered the house followed by Kabir carrying a nearly asleep Anky. The rest of the girls came in after them.
Kabir carefully placed Anky on a couch.
"Thanks" Anky muttered faintly
Kabir just looked at her.
Doctor came after a few minutes. He checked Anky's foot, cleaned it and wrapped it in a new bandage.
"You are perfectly fine young lady….but don't walk around much for two three days and take this medicine as well" Doctor said while prescribing a tablet.
Armaan paid him and showed him out.
"I guess you guys will be hungry….the dinner is being prepared we can have it together" Armaan smiled at the girls.
"Kabir join us please" Armaan said to K as he made to head out.
Armaan showed the girls to a room to freshen up. Water was brought for Anky to clean up.
"Dinner ready" Armaan called from the dining hall.
Fiza and Sur helped up Anky.
"I will take her girls" Kabir offered.
"No thanks they are enough" Anky almost snapped.
"As you wish….it's a little far and your friends are tired as well so thought to help" Kabir said shrugging.
Anky bit her lips and looked at her friends.
"Okay then" Anky muttered. K smiled and picked her up.
They reached the dining hall. Kabir placed Anky on a chair.
"Where is Armaan" Fiza asked a maid.
"Sir has already eaten" she answered "He is in his room, he told you to have dinner"
"Guys I will just see him and come" Fiza said and asked the amid the direction to his room.
Armaan was talking to Abhay on phone.
"They are all fine Abhay…Anky is hurt a little…..rest is fine….yes Abhay Ayesha is fine" Armaan reassured
"Did they hurt you badly Abhay" Fiza heard Armaan's voice.
"What? You mean to say they were" Armaan's eye widened.
Fiza opened the door to his room.
"Abhay you fool…how dare you fight them alone….Abhay you know that werewolf's bite is fatal to us vampires" Armaan turned. In his worry for Abhay he had failed to sense Fiza's presence
Fiza was standing at the door shell shocked.
