PART 8

Sometimes in life, something happens that completely change your point of view about a person' and sometimes that simple act lead to that person becoming an important part of your thoughts and then.. life'.

Nupur was still thinking about the movie when they all stood outside college waiting for their cars to come. All her friends were talking about random things while she was still struck there' the usually aloof and disinterested appearing Nupur was unable to think beyond that and thinking about it meant thinking about' Mayank'.

Somehow she just couldn't help but blush everytime she thought about him. Something had changed in her because of what had happened but what exactly was it, Nupur was unable to identify.

"Nupur! NUPUR!"

Suhani had to yell to get herself heard.

Nupur: " hmmm.."

Suhani: " kahan khoi hue ho?"

Priya: " ye isko Sandra wali aadat kab se par gaye?"
Diya and Priya giggled while Gunjan noticed something was amiss.

When Diya, Suhani and Priya left Nupur (ok I know some people are NOT going to lke this !!! :p sorry besties!! ) turned to Gunjan.

Nupur: " Gunjan pata hai aj kya hua?"

And she told her about what had happened.

Gunjan who was sure she would find an upset Nupur by the end of hearing the story instead was facing a blushing Nupur..

Nupur: " you know I was blushing so much! but I will have to admit Mayank behaved in a really good manner' I mean '"
That was the first time Gunjan realized what Nupur meant.

However just then Nupur's car arrived and she left while Gunjan was left to wonder. She loved her friend and she knew Mayank was a good guy but as far as she knew him, he was a happy go lucky man, who enjoyed life and that's it. on the other hand Nupur was a very sensitive girl' Gunjan had no idea what way this all was heading to'

Sam was sitting in his room going over the day's events. He had seen the movie with Gunjan and their presentation was ready. However for once studies were not his headache. He was thinking about Gunjan. Recently she was all he was able to think about. She was always there in his thoughts and he had simply no idea what was the matter with him. Once or twice a word crept into his mind but he politely asked it to get lost.

"it cant be it! I mean it cant be 'love"

Sam tried to question himself but he was far from getting a convincing answer yet.

Mayank sat in his room, clicking his remote, trying to find a channel that would be able to distract him and take his thoughts to some other direction but to no avail. The image of blushing Nupur , her innocent face, her confused eyeswere just not leaving his mind. Finally he switched off the T.V. and went to lie down on his bed.

His folded arms lying beneath his head and his eyes staring at the ceiling and her image dancing infront of his eyes..sighing he closed his eyes but the images accompanied him until sleep engulfed him and those images took shapes of sweet dreams.

the next morning , Nupur and her group was greeted by the news of the presentations being postponed and they also came to know that the college trip was going to Goa that same week.

"Mein to naeh'"

"CHUP!!!!!!'

Gunjan , Diya, Nupur and Priya said together before Suhani could finish her sentence.

Gunjan; " hum sb'SB.. ja rahe hain! Bus keh dia to keh dia!"

Suhani: " but mein wahan ja kar kya karoon ge?"

Priya: " barton dhona! Uske liay bhe to koi chahiay hoga na!"

Suhani stared at Priya but then burst out laughing, " acha jee chal paroon ge mein bhe! Happy?"
"very!"

They all said together and hugged eachother'.

the next two days passed in a frenzy' everyone was busy packing and so all the friends went home early to get things ready.

At the day when they were all going to leave, Nupur woke up and went to the window. Soft breezes touching her face greeted her. her heart was filled with anticipation of this trip and so smiling she went to get ready.

Nupur and her friends were lined up infront of the bus, chatting happily and waiting for their journey to start. Nupur was telling her friends about Arsal who got up early in the morning and helped her get all the things ready, treating her like a kid who will forget something. It was then that she felt someone's eyes on herself' looking up her eyes met with Mayank's who was staring at her'.

This was the first time Nupur saw him after the movie scene and all of a sudden she felt nervous. She had been thinking about it a lot and she could help but accept that Mayank had behaved in a gentleman like behavior that day and somewhere in her heart she liked him better now. However she couldn't understand the reason for this sudden nervousness she had started feeling whenever their eyes met..which was getting too frequent nowadays' unconsciously she passed him a smile and touching her hair as she always did when nervous, she looked away'

Mayank had seen her looking at him and then that smile..she smiled at him..he knew he must be grinning like an idiot now but he just couldn't help it..she smiled'besides he was unable to take his eyes off Nupur.. she was looking beautiful in the blue top and jeans'

Sam was standing with Mayank looking at his odd behavior but was too lost in his own thoughts to comment.

"Hey Sam!"

Sam looked up to see the subject of his thoughts right infront of his eyes' he automatically smiled looking at her'

Sam: " hey Gunjan!"

Gunjan: " Sam can I have a word with you?"
Sam saw the all serious look on Gunjan's face and for a minute he was afraid his thoughts had somehow found a way out of his mind and directly to Gunjan.

Sam: " yeah sure!"

They both moved a little away from the crowd and as soon as they were out of earshot, Gunjan burst out, " Sam ye Mayank ko kay masla hai?"

Sam who was all prepared for his class, was shocked for a moment at hearing Mayank's name and it took him sometime to grasp what Gunjan was saying.

Sam: " kyun kya hua?"
Gunjan: " kya hua? see Sam I know he is your best friend and he is a good guy too but if he is planning to flirt with Nupur than he has no chance of that!"

Sam: " what are you talking about Gunjan?"

Gunjan: "M I the only one who noticed his odd behavior to Nupur? have you not seen his behavior recently?"

Sam who was worried about his own behavior recently , decided not to reply.

Gunjan: " he is constantly staring at Nupur since morning and I caught him twice grinning like an idiot!"

Sam: (finally findinghis voice) " but Gunjan whats wrong.."

Gunjan: " wrong hai Sam! Nupur is not the girl next door who will fall in for every door knocking hero. Wo bohat different hai yar! If Mayank is trying to use his usual tactics on her or if he is looking for a girlfriend, Nupur is so not the right person! and I hope he understands that himself because I wont let him ruin this trip for Nupur!"
Sam: " maybe you are just over reacting Gunjan'"
Gunjan: " Sam you don't know her.. she is too sensitive and completely unlike the girls Mayank is use to! She may appear strong but she is the sort of girl who would start crying if she does a little mistake in presentations. Bilkul himmat nahe hai usme!"

Sam: ( cutting in) " Gunjan u are just not making any sense..is it only about Mayank or'"

Gunjan: ( taking a deep breath) " no its about Nupur too.. I think she has started liking Mayank'.(thinking about how Nupur had been talking about that kiss scene and Mayank's behavior to her'.not to forget she had caught Nupur smiling back at him today') And you very well know how disastrous could it be!"

Sam: " relax Gunjan! Mayank is not the sort of guy who will hurt her! he may flirt with girls and all but he knows what he does! He wont hurt a girl! Never!"

Gunjan: " you are saying this because he is your friend! But I wont let him take chances with my friend!"

Saying this Gunjan left Sam , wondering if this is the start then how will this trip turn out at the end!
