Sid felt the waves of pain wash over him again.

Shashank : We just about managed to save Riddhima.. But Armaan.. It was too late..

Armaan.. The name filled him with more sorrow than he ever thought possible. Sid wanted to cry out aloud. But he managed to suppress the urge by closing his eyes.

Shashank (in a voice full of pain) : Riddhima has had a severe head injury. She gained consciousness after the surgery, but she recognizes no one. She's lost all her memory.

Sid remained silent. He knew all of this.

Shashank : Tumhe.. Kisne?

Sid : Mere lawyer ne.

Shashank : Oh haan.. I almost forgot. 19^th was the date of your hearing right? What happened?

Sid : It got dismissed again. Since the second party's consent has become.. questionable.

Shashank did not fail to notice how Sid avoided saying Riddhima's name.

Shashank : Hmmm.. So now?

Sid : I don't know. I've come here to speak with my lawyers about it.

Shashank : Is that all?

Sid does not speak.

Shashank : I know this is too much to ask of you Siddhant, but.. I'm pleading with you as a father.

Sid looked up at Dr. Shashank.

Shashank : Please meet Riddhima once.

Sid did not know what he felt but he knew he could not refuse this man who sat in front him ' his mentor whom he respected immensely, now pleading with him. Sid gently, almost imperceptibly nodded his head.

When he touched the doorknob to open the door of the ICU, the coolness of the doorknob was nothing compared to the iciness of his hands. As he stepped into the ICU and looked at the figure lying on the bed, he felt something tighten around his heart. It had been just 3 months since he'd since her last but it seemed liked ages. She looked pale, deathly pale and she was connected to wires and machines of all sorts. Her beautiful hair that he once relished tucking away from her face had been cropped short and her head was covered in bandages. He was about to reach out and touch her face when he remembered what had separated their paths months ago. Nothing could change the fact that she had hurt him so bad, he was no longer himself. It would do him no good to get carried away because he did not have it in him to go through all that pain again. He could not and would not feel anything for her. As he withdrew his hand, Riddhima's eyes gently fluttered open. Sid stood their emotionless, determinedly avoiding looking into those eyes he knew that had a mesmerizing quality to them but he also knew they were the best liars ever.

She opened her eyes and there was someone standing by her bedside. She looked at him curiously. The messy hair, the soft, brown eyes, and the shadow of a stubble on his chin ' he looked tired and he wasn't one of the people who regularly came to check in on her. She had been told that her name was Riddhima, that she was a doctor in Sanjeevani. Her father was Shashank Gupta and mother Padma. She had a sister Anjali Gupta and that this was the hospital she, Riddhima, worked in ' Sanjeevani. But she remembered nothing and no one. She had been in some major accident but she did not remember that either. Someone had also mentioned about someone called Armaan. Could this be him? She looked at the man standing in front of her with more concentration. All of a sudden, a series of blurry images passed through her mind ' of a wedding. It was black and white, like she was watching the negative of a movie reel ' a guy and a girl were walking around the fire and the girl almost faints but the guy catches her and completes the pheras while carrying her in his arms. Then another one - of a guy and a girl getting married in the rain. The images kept coming faster till it all became a huge blur. Right after the images, voices started to echo in her head but there were too many of them at the same time for her to distinguish. She raised her hands and pressed them to her temple trying to concentrate in spite of the throbbing in her head. Her face frowned in concentration and frustration.

Sid had watched her, as her face contorted in what he thought was pain. He immediately backed away and opened the door. But before he could step out, he stopped dead in his tracks.

"Sid!!!!!"

Everyone standing outside the door had been shocked when Riddhima had said Sid's name. Dr. Keerthi had rushed in to check on Riddhima while Sid and Dr. Shashank had stood there shocked to the core. Not knowing how to react, Sid had gone back to Dr. Shashank's cabin, gathered his bags and left Sanjeevani to go to his hotel.

Now, lying on his bed in his hotel room, he wondered for the zillionth time what life wanted from him? What had he done to deserve this? He couldn't do this. He wouldn't go there again. He was going to meet his lawyers tomorrow, discuss the case, complete whatever necessary formalities and go back to the US, if possible tomorrow itself. Having decided that he firmly shut away all the memories that had been flooding him and closed his eyes to get some much needed sleep.

The next morning, he called his lawyer and fixed an appointment for the afternoon. He booked his tickets back for the late night flight. He had the whole morning to himself and after a lot of debating, he decided to go tell Dr. Shashank that he was going back tonight and that he would sort out the divorce issue with his lawyers and let him know. He was going there only to meet Dr. Shashank.. Only to meet him.. But again, destiny wasn't done with him yet.

He knocked on Dr. Shashank's door and when Dr. Shashank bid him in, he entered hesitantly.

Shashank : Sid.. Come in come in.. You just left so abruptly yesterday..

Sid : I'm sorry Sir.. I just..

Shashank : Its ok.. I understand.. I wanted to thank you..

Sid looked at him puzzled.

Shashank : That's the most Riddhima has ever responded to any kind of trigger. Even when she woke up this morning, she said your name. Dr. Dhruv, who is overseeing her treatment, said that it was a faint hope but nothing can be said for sure because her mental condition is extremely fragile right now. We cannot force her too hard or she may slip into a coma or lose her mental balance altogether.

Sid couldn't stop himself from asking.

Sid : Does she remember who I am?

Shashank : Not yet. But she says she saw flashes of images in front of her eyes and heard voices echoing in her head when she saw you.

Sid looked away.

Shashank : One of the voices was saying I am sorry Sid.

Sid did not know how to feel. He wanted to get away. He was here to tell Dr. Shashank that he was going back tonight. He would do just that and walk away. As soon as he opened his mouth to inform Dr. Shashank of his plans, the door burst open and a harried looking Dr. Keerthi walked in.

Keerthi : Sir..

That's when she noticed Sid standing there. She cast him a nervous glance and looked at Dr. Shashank.

Keerthi : Sir, Riddhima's.. Riddhima's medical reports are here.

Dr. Shashank : Anything to worry about?

Keerthi : You might want to look at it yourself Sir.

She handed over the file to Dr. Shashank and he took it from her. He opened the file and scanned through the page. Halfway through the page, his eyes widened in horror, he grew visibly pale and a few seconds later, collapsed onto his chair. Sid and Keerthi immediately rushed to his side.

Sid : Sir!!

Keerthi : Sir!!!

Keerthi immediately grabbed the phone to call the ICU while Sid took the file from Dr. Shashank and went through it. What he saw was something he'd never expected. He was so shocked, he was surprised he hadn't collapsed too.

Sid hadn't moved from the spot where he stood holding the file in hand. The nursing staff had rushed in and Dr. Shashank had been carried away in a frenzy but Sid stood there clutching onto the file unable to move. This couldn't be happening. This was a nightmare. He had to snap out of it. This is was just not possible. "Of course it is possible", his brain screamed at him. "You are a fool if you thought this could not happen" it continued to mock him even as his mind kept telling him that this was not possible. It was some kind of mistake.

Dr. Keerthi walked in a long time later and one look at his shocked face and she knew he'd read the report.

Keerthi : Dr. Shashank has had a cardiac arrest.

She told him watching his reaction closely. Sid heard her but could not react.

Keerthi : This was bound to happen. He'd been neglecting his health for quite some time now. He's been worried.. About Riddhima..

That name elicited a response from him. He turned towards Dr. Keerthi and stared at her blankly. Keerthi went up to him and placed her hand on his shoulder. She did not know what more to say so she left without saying anything. Sid stood there trying to control the sobs but failing. He slumped to the floor and after long months, he finally cried to let out all the pain, sorrow and anger. He looked at the medical report again. His eyes glued on that one line that killed him again after the hundreds of deaths he'd already died. He read through it once again willing for what was written to change this time round.

Pregnancy test : Positive.

First of all I m sorry that I couldn't comment on last update n I have read both updates today. First part was a cliff hanger thank God I didn't read it yesterday otherwise I couldn't b able to concentrate on any thing else.
Coming to part 6... I don't know what to say about this update. I m SHOCKED to read that Riddhima is pregnent. Now I have started hating her more n more. How could she???? Inspite of the fact that Divorce is not still confirmed. If I could see her I would have killed her for doing this. I just hate to see Sid in such a condition. How much he have to suffer for that Riddhima Devi. The one thing I liked the most about this update was ARMAAN's DEATH. Sorry I just couldn't control my happiness😆😆. Ofcourse he can't b a Hero like Sid because he proved that he is a lusty guy. Seriously now I just don't want Sid to accept Riddhima with that Dog's Child. Bt I know Dr.Shashank will emotionally blackmail him again(the only thing he can do😆) n will say : "Sid Riddhima ko apna lo warna main kisi ko mu dikhane k kabil nae rahu ga"...The famous dialogue😆😆

Now that was a shocker episode...first one being ridhima alive and the second blow she being preggo. i really wished to see armaan suffer...but ridhima alive and pregnant will put sid on spot...doesn't it?waiting for next update already😉
