Chapter 29 - Matchmaking

Next day Tuesday 8:00 PM

Geet, Adi, Pinky sat nervously while Maan called up Adi's parents who were settled in Goa due to health issues.

"Namaste Uncleji?main Maan bol raha hoon"

"Arre Maan beta?aap?aaj bahut dinon baad phone kiya?everything ok"

"Yes uncle, actually uncle Adi told me that you are looking for a good match for him. I had a reference and so I thought of talking to you"

"Haan Haan beta?you know Adi well so shayad Adi ko tumhari pasand zayda pasand aaye"

"Uncle she is actually a close friend of my family friends. She is quite a nice girl and I take full guarantee of the family and the girl. Her name is Pinky. I have emailed you her photograph as well. If you like her and want to, I can talk to her father and schedule a date for seeing the girl."

"Thik hai Maan?we trust you. We are coming to Delhi next week so you schedule the date and talk to Adi also about this"

"Ok uncle?bye then see you next weekend"

"Bye beta"

Maan showed thumbs up to all and they pounced on him in excitement. Now it was Geet's turn to convince Pinky's father.

Tuesday 9:00 PM

Geet and Maan went to Pinky's house while Pinky and Adi stayed back in the car.

Geet rang the bell and Mr. Manchanda opened the door with a spatula in his hand.

Geet ? "Namaste Uncle"

"He he he?Geet beta tum" and then he glanced at Maan standing next to her. He hastily put the spatula behind his back.

"Namaste uncle" Maan also nodded head folding his hands.

"Namaste Namste?arre andar aao?lekin Pinky to ghar pe hai nahin"

"I know uncle but I have actually come to meet you"

Mr. Manchanda gave a confusing look to Geet

"Uncle, I know you are looking for a suitable match for Pinky right. This is Maan my family friend?Rishab uncles's son"

"Off course beta?who doesn't know Dr Maan Singh Khurana?but I can't believe ki itna bada doctor is interested in my Pinky"

Maan chocked at the words said by Pinky's father.

"nahin nahin uncle?aap galat samajh rahe hain?.actually Geet is talking about my very good friend Dr. Aditya Chopra. He is also a great doctor and his parents are also looking for a match for him. As Geet knows Pinky so well, I thought it will be a good idea if you can consider him for Pinky." Maan said quickly before there could be any misunderstanding

"Yes uncle, I have met Adi and he is very nice. Apni Pinky ke liye bilkul perfect. Isiliye maine socha ki main aapko boloon. If you want Maan can arrange a meeting with Adi and his parents next weekend. Right Maan!!!"

"Yes?yes off course"

After convincing both the families, next Sunday was set up as a date when parents from both the sides could meet.

After fixing the meeting

"Saale Adi, teri wajah se aaj bahut papad bele hain humne, ab treat banti hai"

"Treat to shaadi fix hone ke baad donga na"

Geet jumped in 'no ways, shaadi fix hone par to badi wali treat cahiye?abhi hum ice-cream se kam chala lenge?kyon Maan"

"Hmmm?yes?.at least mitha to banta hai" said Pinky dreamily (dreaming about the ice-cream guys LOL)"

All four went to an ice-cream parlor in GK (Greater Kailash is a well known area in Delhi with cute posh shops) famous for fresh fruit ice creams.

Maan took a fresh strawberry ice-cream whereas Geet went for a fresh custard apple ice-cream.

Geet ? "Kya Maan, boring strawberry flavor kha rahe ho?try my custard apple flavor?tumne aisi ice-cream kabhi khai hi nahi hogi?hmmm?.hmmm" Geet was lost in enjoying her ice-cream. She was gingerly licking each and every bite off the spoon and her tongue was tracing her lips in appreciation.

Maan was enjoying and fantasizing seeing the sight in front of him. In his wonderland, Geet had just taken a fresh bite. Before she could take it all in, he bent forward and took her lips into his. He gently pressed to open her lips and darted his tongue in to taste the ice-cream. He groaned inside her mouth and closed his eyes to feel the pleasure of tasting her ice-cream from her mouth. Finally he left her to catch his breath and nodded in agreement "Indeed that's the best ice-cream I have ever tasted"

"What!!! arre pehle taste to karo" ? Geet brought back Maan from his day dream and he saw three people looking at him with a question mark on their face.

He just realized he had said the last part aloud. "Haan mera matlab hai this is a very good ice-cream. Anyways tum apni bhi taste karao" With that he took a bite from Geet's and this time just nodded.

Geet looked at him questioningly. Maan grinned ? "achi hai"

Maan looked at her face and saw a small bit trickling down her chin. He controlled himself and leaned forward and wiped the ice-cream with his thumb. Geet shivered at his touch and just glanced down. "Umm chalien?bahut raat ho gayi hai" she said abruptly.

Maan felt her shiver and was happy with the effect even his small touch had on her. "Mujhe kitna satati hai?thoda khud bhi tadpegi to pata chalega."

They left for their respective homes. Maan dropped Geet at KM before going to KH
