and about the issue that was raised......in this post after the update ....i would like to explain it.....

though the anonymous person was right to an extent part .... but i have an answer to it.....
Maan forced her to marry him....right....he used abusive language against her....he lusted her....true.... but if you have noticed....the character did say that he fell in love with GEET...the moment he set his eyes on her the very first day she landed in Bharatpur..... but he side lined it only becoz he came to know that she has been living in Kolkatta.....and she is educated and all....and the kind of perception that Maan had was like...all intellectual people used others to climb the success ladderand mind it those girls were never a virgin.....and also that Maan was in love with some one but that girl(educated) ditched him....... after that he never ever believed in anyone.....

and the first night where he raped her as you say........ i would say it was more of his anger...that someone actually touched her.....coz Geet said that she was in love with someone and she is not a virgin....which was not true.....that irked him...coz he was in love with her......there is also another incidence which shows that he loved her....when he had kidnapped her and took her to his farmhouse.......he could have easily done anything to her....but he didnt.....and the reason he knew she would never agree for marriage and he would never let her go away......so he took the wrong path(this is also because he has lived his life all alone...with his own family hating him)...... and the moment he realized that she was a virgin he felt guilty and immediately shifted her to another room......

and later with Geet,....why she turned from a Maan hater to Maan lover was bcoz even she was betrayed.... at least she felt betrayed by some Ganguly.........

she stayed away from Maan......she didnt like him.....she hated him.....but then she saw his other side....which was totally opposite to what she has seen on her first night....soon she came to know of his past...and how his family treated him......even after that she never allowed him nor did she go to him....... but that only made her long for him...... as he came to know that she was hopefully in love with her village hubby......who has forced himself on her.....so forgave him,...... and slaps were to knock some sense into him......

thats all i have to say....hope i have cleared some points to you.......

A readers message on COP please read and comment-

It's the first fanfic i've read from you and I'd like tell you a few things about it. I've noticed your story deals with many social issues never mentioned in other fanfics, making it rich with information. It's interesting to read, to learn more about rural india. I was borned and raised in Canada and I'm absolutely shocked such things could happen. Thank you for spreading this awareness. But, no offence, the romantic aspect of your story is...well...beyond unbelievable. Please, I mean no offence, after all each person is entitled to their own opinion. I've pointed out some reasons why below:

When Maan married Geet, a returned university student, he was lusting her, according to the words he exchanged with her. He wanted her so bad that he went to the extreme point of forcing her to marry him, despite her already having a boyfirend, and raping her on their suhaag raat. Now, I know he changed after that, but that incident is going to have a major impact on Geet mentally. Any rape victim wouldn't act so comfortable around rapist, even if it's her husband, espeically if he took her virginity that brutally. I expected her to hate him, to be terrified of him, or fall in to depression because her life was a mess. But she didn't, she kind of acted okay with it, and that was scary. please don't tell me what's what married women do in rural india, that they allow their husbands to get their way with them.

Yeah it does happen...married women are being raped by their husband almst everyday in India..I used to watch the show Crime Patrol and it dealt with abusive relationships and rape victims...its sad but that is the reality...there is a movie that deals with rape after marriage called mittal vs. mittal I haven't watched the movie but from the promos...the husband rapes his wife every night saying that "he has all the rights on her" and raping in his case was justified and legal after marriage...that movie is based on realities that most of us choose to ignore....forget that...I have real life situation...my friends cousin was raped on her SR as well....she wanted to get to know her husband before taking the next step..so what does the guy do? He ties her up when she is sleeping and rapes her...she had no choice but to accept the truth because in India divorce is not an option....we are taught to live with the person and work out any problems..that is the cold truth....

I also grew up in abroad but these facts just opens my eyes.....its reality and we must live with reality....

I also found, Maan's transformation from a lusting after Geet to loving her was a bit odd and fast. It was only after he married her and raped her did he notice she was a virgin. It's surprised me that he felt guilt and remorse, that ulitimately (and quickly) turned into love. What about all those other girls you mentioned? The ones he did without marrying? He never felt he guilt and remorse for? Why just Geet? Cause he married her?

It is a fan fic so obviously as readers we don't want Maaneet to separate..but I understand where you are coming from...NOW it is shown that Maan feels regret for what he did to Geet on their SR and is trying to repent for his mistake...he is trying to keep her happy....

And last but not least, why is it that everytime you mention Geet and Maan about to "do it," one of them must terrify other, making them think that they'll be raped, before actually "doing it"? I'm sorry, I don't find it romantic, I find that kind of creepy, espeically when Geet's first time was when she was "raped" by Maan. In this recent update (part 20), Geet's the one initiating it by trying to "rape" him. And all that slapping she's doing, isn't that abuse regradless of which gender does it? That itself is telling you the character is suffering mentally. Also, i thought i'd add, sex isn't the only way to show their love. Love is also emotional, it can easily be shown by them sharing sweet little moments. Okay, she feeds him often, what else do they do that's romantic but subtle?

Sex is part of marriage...and sometimes to show others how much they love each other is through sex (Excuse my language)....its normal I guess...the author is showing that Geet does not regret what happend in their SR she has accepted it and is happy that she found a guy like Maan...she saw his caring side which no one saw till date...I don't think Geet is suffering mentally and yeah I do agree her way of showing Maan by saying now am gonna "rape" you was odd.....

I love your comment..and don't think I am bashing you or anything....

I seriously need to know if my story is being deciphered in a similar way by all of you please give honest opinions
