Yes, ek fauji ka naam tabhi aata hai jab woh shaheed hot ahai. And rightly so. Everyone should now the name of the brave son who gave his life to secure ours. But for the very same security its necessary that Army works in shadows, not only to safeguard its personnels but also the families they leave behind. As it is, an Army Officer is least concerned with fame or recognition.

Reading your FFs really makes me happy. So many readers read your FF, and in the process are getting enlightened to the various issues related to our country. Such a wonderful medium to reach out to many.

Btw....I had a doubt. If Maan was only 18 when he was in Army, then he couldn't have been an Officer.

RIGHT MAAN WAS NOT AN OFFICER HE WAS A JAWAN.....HE BECAME AN OFFICER IN 2001 THE YEAR THEY GOT MARRIED....I DO AGREE THAT MISCALCULATIONS ARE PART OF WAR BUT 10-12 INTRUDERS? WHEN THEY HAD AN ENTIRE FAUJ? AND SO MUCH MISCALCULATION ABOUT THE ARTILLERY? WHAT WAS THE INTELLIGENCE DOING WHEN INCH BY INCH OUR LAND WAS BEING TAKEN AWAY? SLEEPING? OR WERE THEY CREATING A DRILL FOR OUR ARMY MEN A PRACTICE SESSION? SORRY I CAN NEVER FORGIVE THE INTELLIGENCE LAPSE OF KARGIL

I know it is really infuriating. Specially when you see the lives lost. But then you must understand how the Army intelligence works. Whats shown in movies, TV and infact even the accounts by Army personnel themselves cannot give you the proper picture of their working.

My father is a 3rd generation Army officer. An infantry guy. He has spent 20 years of his service in high altitudes. I myself was a Cadet, later medically terminated from service. And I can tell you this with conviction. Army intelligence guys work as hard as a jawan who defends the post. They put their lives at risk in the same manner as any other combat officer. Infact, even more so. They try to source out the maximum information in shortest possible time. As I said earlier, time is not a privilege. Plus, they are not dealing with kids. The intruders are trained experts too and would obviously be devious enough to leave false hints. They won't come out and give you information on a silver platter. Nor will they make it easy for you. Whatever is done in such situations is the best possible solution. How can we sit in our homes and judge their actions?

As an Indian, we will feel anguish at the lives lost. Its the patriot in us. And its a good thing too. We can't help the Army much. But we can be sensitive to their work. And be a constant support. One can't help but feel angry at the intelligence lapses. Its natural. But still, the amount of work they manage to do should be kept in mind too😊

Brilliant part. loved it.
u bring the again another reality .
update soon.

We should salute the army and soldier
they give their today to save our tomorrow.
a soldier sacrifices their lives and their family also sacrifices
but our government just many time ignore it.
bahut publicity cricketers, actors, actress ko milte hain
but usse jada milna chaiye army men ko cause they army men r real hero
Saheed hone ke baad hi naam aata hain iyaad karte hain but phir bhul jate hain
we should remember them and their sacrifices.

Jay Hind
We should proud to be an Indian
