Part 1 - Encounter
"Gunj, stop acting like a kid" Nupur finally lost her temper and took back the case file from Gunjan, her younger sister. "Dii, I really want chocolate ice-cream" Gunjan said softly, and rested back on the sofa. "Gunj, you are not the first pregnant lady in the world! Stop throwing tantrums." Nupur finally gave up, closed the file and placed it on the table. "Dii, I am 6 months pregnant, I tend to feel hungrier. You don't understand" Nupur went and sat next to her. There was nothing much she could do "Mrs. Gunjan Shergill, For your kind information, I had specially cooked those doughnuts with extra chocolate at home just for you, by sacrificing my 2 hours sleep, so that you don't demand for more chocolates for the next 2 days, you ate all of them and now still" Nupur looked at Gunjan who was pouting like a kid "If you are hungry after eating so much, let me get you more fruits and juice" Nupur smirked and was about to head towards the kitchen, when Gunjan pulled her back. "Dii, I just now have had 1 big apple and a glass of milk, not to forget those big vitamin tablets. Eww" Gunjan said making a face. "Just now you said you are still hungry" It was Gunjan's time to give up. "Fine, I accept my defeat, I don't want chocolate ice-cream" She started moving her hand over her own bulged tummy, and started murmuring, "I am going to tell baby, you were so rude to me" Nupur sighed. "Emotional blackmailing wont work, and for last time let me tell you, too much ice creams and chocolate are not good for you and I'll make sure that your lovey-dovey husband follows my rule strictly" Gunjan blushed at the mention of her husband.
Nupur got up and closed the window as it was getting cold and switched on the lights. Nupur wanted to enjoy the cold wind so she decided to go in the balcony and stand. "You read this book about Child care and I'll take some fresh air" Nupur handed over the book to Gunjan and was about to go.
"Wait, even I want to enjoy" Before Nupur could argue, Gunjan got up and wrapped the shawl around her. "It will be very cold Gunj" She was very much concerned about her little sister as there were minor complications and she didn't wanted to take any risks. "Dii, don't worry, just 15 minutes and I'll be in, Promise" It was difficult for her to say no to Gunjan when she smiled. She was highly adorable and a very good obeying younger sister, apart from her tantrums, as symptoms of second trimester of Pregnancy. Nupur carefully took her out in the backyard.
It was past 6. Both sisters were chitchatting, it was getting colder. "Dii. Are you sure about Dhruv?" Gunjan asked Nupur. Nupur made Gunjan sit on the swing. "Yeah, sort of" Nupur pulled her overcoat more closely. "You don't have to force yourself in any relationship" Gunjan said, with concern. "Gunj, see I am already 27, and I have achieved whatever I wanted to" "Dii, you have achieved all what you wanted in your career, you are a known Gynecologist in a very renowned Hospital of London, I am really happy for you, but I am not happy with your decision" After a pause she continued, "Look Dii, you must give yourself time, just because Papa told you he is good, doesn't mean you have to spend your life with him" Nupur went and sat nest to her, and caressed her hair. " We do understand each other well" Gunjan argued back, "I can see that, its not understanding its compromising and a relation cant work only on compromising, it needs love so that the bud grows into a flower" Nupur smiled widely, "Aww since when my sister became so matured" She pulled her cheeks. "Dii" Gunjan said in a firm tone, "Do you understand what I am trying to tell you, you don't have to marry'" But before she could continue, "Oh, what are my two favorite ladies doing here?" They both turned to the source of the voice.
"We were waiting for you Mr. Samrat Shergill, and finally you are here" Samrat gave a side hug to Nupur. "Oh my, really? My honor." He looked at Gunjan, who was pretending to look somewhere else. "Why my wife is not smiling? Dr. Nupur Kapoor, what you did?" Samrat went and sat next to Gunjan. "Dii, tell him to stop his drama, he is not at all concerned about me, for him his work is everything" Samrat looked at Nupur, helplessly, who signaled him, that she was not going to fall in between them. "I am sorry" Samrat kneeled before Gunjan and held his ear. Gunjan's anger melted with his one smile and she smiled back. Nupur was just looking at the most endearing couple. "Ahem.. Let me go then you can continue with your romance" She said in a teasing tone, which made Gunjan all crimson red. "Haaye... blushing" She teased more. "Dii" Gunjan looked at other side. "Its time for me to go" Samrat got up and dusted his pants. "Wait na, where you have to go?" Nupur glanced at her watch, it was becoming dark. "No Sam, not today, and please take care of her, and "She narrowed her eyes on Gunjan and continued "If she demands for chocolates , then call me immediately, I'll have to add some more tablets" Gunjan looked angrily at her. "Bye, take care , now take her in, its getting cold" Nupur took her bag and files and left from there, giving the couple their privacy promising to come back soon. Gunjan's anger vanished in a second and her eyes were getting wet when she saw her sister's retreating figure. Nupur sat in the car and drove to her destination.
Samrat came and hugged Gunjan from behind. " What happened?" He whispered in her ears. "Concerned for Dii" he wiped her lone tear. "Don't worry, everything will be fine" He assured her. "By the way, Mayank has shifted here" Gunjan eyes widened at his name. "What? You should have told Dii" Samrat nodded saying no, "He said not to" "But.." Samrat placed her finger on her lips. "Shh.. let him surprise her, now lets go, your sister will call soon"

Nupur parked her car, in the parking area and made her way towards her apartment. It was a very peaceful area away from much hustle bustle and a few kilometers away from her hospital. It was very cold. She entered the lift and pressed her floor's number, 7. She was searching for her house keys in the bag when a voice caught her attention. "Keep it over there!" The sound was familiar to her. The voice was coming from the flat next to hers. The door was open. No one stayed over there. May be someone is shifting, she thought to herself. She slightly pushed door more open and one thing was clear, that now she had a neighour. She wasn't able to see his face, as he the carton in his hand was covering his face. She was about to go in, when she realized its not India, its London, and its good not to interfere in people's work. She was about to take a step back when she saw that the carton was about to fall from his hands, involuntarily she moved to help him and held it. Their hands brushed, his hands felt cold against her warm
"Thanks" He said and placed the carton down. After seeing him she was in daze, after a moment she said, "Mayank" and he was left smiling.
