It seems like I've waited forever.
It doesn't seem fair.
I've been obedient to You, Lord.
Done what you've asked of me.
Why, then, haven't you answered?

It's so painful. I push the feelings down.
It's as if I've begun to shove this longing aside.
I've boarded up this room of my heart.
Tried to forget about it.
I hear promptings from the enemy to "ignore my heart."

But, I can't.

Finally, I hear You gently encourage me to live from my heart.
As I begin to open up this longing, this room of my heart again,
Tears stream down my face. Sobs from somewhere deep escape.

You tell me "It's okay to cry. Grieve it.
It's been held back for so long. Let it go. Let it out.
These longings are a natural part of your heart.
Feel it. Allow your heart to feel the longing
That's been boarded up all these years and kept captive.
It's okay to feel it even if you can't have it right now.

Trust me that I can provide for that longing.
I know it doesn't seem to make sense,
But you need to trust me with this part of your heart.
These longings unfulfilled.

You are not alone.
Whatever the circumstance, I am enough.
And I can provide. Will you choose to trust me?"
