First Date
I was sitting in the restaurant and was hell nervous. It felt like this was our first date which it obviously wasn't as we had gone on quite a few dates before this. In my defense this was my first date after realizing I love her.
She was 15 minutes late as of now and I was worried. I called her cell but there was no reply. I tried again. Maybe she was in some surgery or something.

30 minutes now. I tried her cell again and she finally picked up on the fifth ring. "Hey riddhima, are you alright? I mean we had a date today, remember?"
"Yeah of course I remember. I actually had some emergency at the hospital. I'm on my way now."
"Okay fine. I'm waiting. Bye."
"Bye."
So I was right, there was some emergency at the hospital.

15 more minutes later. Where was she?! I was getting very anxious now. I mean, what is taking her so long. Is she okay? Is- WOW! My eyes spotted her as she entered the restaurant looking more beautiful then ever. She was wearing a red churidar and she looked amazing. This was not the first time I was seeing her in ethnic wear but she was wearing my favorite color. The same color she wore when I saw her for the first time at Nicky's engagement.
"Hi. You look.. Beautiful."
"Thanks." She blushed and looked away. I couldn't help but smile at that because it meant I had an effect on her.
"So uh.. Everything okay at the hospital?"
"Um.. Yeah, all good."
"Great."
Okay this was more awkward than what our actual first date had been. We were just awkwardly shifting in our chairs stealing glances at each other. Our eyes met and we stayed like that, lost in each others eyes. How pure and angelic her eyes were. There were like a door to her soul and she-
"Can I get you anything sir?"
I turned to the waiter clearly pissed, "No you cannot get me anything. Did I call you? No. You will come anywhere near my table ONLY if I call you. Get it." The waiter nodded his head and left and I saw riddhima holding back a laugh. Well she understood why I was pissed. Because this had happened earlier. As in, we were on a date and were sharing a moment [read were lost in each others eyes 😉] and the waiter came with the customary line 'Can I get you anything sir?'
I turned to riddhima and said, "You know what I think, all waiters during their training or whatever are told to interrupt whoever's sharing a moment by the oh-so-amazing line 'Can I get you anything sir? Don't you think so?"
We both looked at each other and burst out laughing. "Lets order something." she said after we controlled our laughs. After selecting our dishes I called the waiter.
"Yes sir?" No 'can-I-get-you-something'. Lol, poor guy got so scared. We ordered our dishes and the waiter left.
"Miss riddhima, I complemented you, don't you think you should complement me too. Matlab itna bura bhi nahi dikhta main."
She blushed again and her whole face became red.
"Uh.. You look very good armaan."
"Sirf good?! Not hot or handsome or dashing?" I couldn't help but tease her. She blushed even more, if possible.
"Just kidding. God you should look at your face," I moved closer to her face, "its red HOT." I winked at her and moved back.
The waiter came with our orders and we started eating. I noticed riddhima was blushing a lot today. I mean she usually did but today it was more than normal. And that's when my detective senses started tingling and my head shot up, "Riddhima did you talk to nicky recently?" She didn't answer for a while and since her head was down I couldn't decipher her expressions.
"Yeah I did. Why?"
"And what did she say?"
"Uh.. She was.. Just telling about her date with abhi."
"That's it."
"Yeah."
Why didn't I believe her? Probably because my sister has a big mouth. But I couldn't really probe on this matter without letting out my feelings so I just left it at that. We finished our dinner and had desserts and headed back to the residency or as we like to call it 'Boot Camp'. We wanted to go have a walk on the beach or go to a park or something but our 'boot camp' has a curfew. CURFEW!!! Which meant we needed to be back by 11:30 and our watch man was a Hitler so there was no way we could stay out late without being kicked out of sanjeevani. They were treating us like 15 year olds, that's another thing that we acted like ones, but still!!!
We decided if not a park we might as well have a walk in the front ground of our residency. We were just walking to and fro not saying a word and enjoying the weather content with the silence. Our hands brushed and it felt as if jolts of electricity passed through me and the way she twitched, I'm guessing her too.
I slipped my hand into hers like it was the most normal thing to do and continued walking like I hadn't done anything. I could feel riddhima looking at me with questioning eyes but I continued walking and looked anywhere but at her. After a second or two even she looked away and we continued walking hand in hand.
We neared the wall on the other side and were going to turn when, "Oye armaan! What are you doing down so late?" It was Rahul, my annoying dumb-ass room mate who was looking out from the window of our room.
"Kuch nahi yaar, there's a dead body here we're just examining it. Wanna join us?"
Rahul looked at our hands and said, "Nah man, you carry on. I'm off duty now." Saying this he went inside.
I turned to riddhima and got lost in her eyes. Again. Well her eyes WERE so mesmerizing that I couldn't help but get lost in them.
"Is this love maine na jana aah.. Is this love tu hi batana aah.."
Atul this time. My other annoying dumb-ass roommate. I'm sure Rahul sent him. I made a mental note to kill him after.
"What are you doing out so late armaan?"
"Hockey khel rahe hain. Tujhe bhi khel na hai?!"
"Itni raat ko. Nahi yaar you guys play. HOCKEY. Good night." and he went inside.
THAT was a signal that our date had come to an end.
"They are dumb which you already know."
"Yea. Uh.. I had a good time today."
"Me too."
"Good night."
"Good night."
And I did the unexpected and gave her a peck on her cheek and left. I knew riddhima just stood at one spot. Shocked. I, on the other hand was grinning to myself. This is love.. I thought to myself.
