Chapter 11

Shilpa had completed another day at work. She was finally content with her life, she had got a family she always wanted. Her dad made her feel like she was the most important person in the world and she loved the time she spent with him. She knew that these last few months with him she will cherish for the rest of her life because it didn't matter how much time they got to spend together or not because this time is all the matters and she was glad that god had given her this chance.
They had gone out for dinner one evening and they were sitting there in comfortable silence when her dad spoke.
"Shilpa, I am worried about you."
"What do you mean dad?"
"I mean, since you have come back all you have done is spend your time with me or you have been at work Shilpa, what are you going to do once I am gone? My days are numbered but that doesn't mean you stop living your life. Spend time with your friends, go fall in love. I mean you shouldn't be alone I need to know you will be fine once I am gone, you will live your life. I want you to fall in love get married, have a family of your own, you deserve that. I can't force you to get married to a random stranger because that would not be fair on you but I can't leave my baby girl alone in this world."
"Dad, I am not alone, I won't be alone. I promise you, I will get married, I will have the life you have dreamed for me but right now you are all I want in my life and I want to spend all that time with you."
A waiter came over to check if everything was ok.
"Dad, I will be fine. Tashu will look after me and I will find that guy and make sure he is as wonderful as you."

Shilpa's senior doctor was very sweet understood her situation with her dad and let her have minimum hours despite being an intern. Dr Nikita Modi. She chuckled thinking the Modi surname has always been kind to her.
"Mam, your due date is getting closer, when are you going on maternity leave?"
"Already planning to get rid of me?" Niki laughed.
"No mam, just wondering if you needed any help or anything?"
"Its ok, I am just joking. I am going on leave in two weeks time. Otherwise I will get bored sitting at home."
"But won't you get bored even after two weeks?"
Niki laughed "No, I have my brother in law coming to help out me and Abhi so he shall be there to entertain me, till the little one arrives."
"Aww, that is sweet of him."
"You should come over, meet him cause I am sure he will get bored of me for company."
Shilpa laughed this time "Yeah, if I ever get the time to."
"You work too hard, all work and no play is no good for anyone."
"Yes Mam" Shilpa left for there.

Two weeks later

Sid landed in London.
A fresh start is what Sid wanted and it is what he had come to London in mind with, after everyone's effort to get him back to living and smiling, he wanted to not let them down because he knew they all cared about him, he was going to take each day as it came, but at least for now, he had a few months off and he was going to spend them in London making sure Abhi Bhai and Niki Bhabhi got all the help they needed.

Sid came out of heathrow airport when he saw Abhi standing there waiting for him.
"Bhai" He walked over to him and hugged him. "Akele aiya?"
"Yeah, woh Niki wanted to go in to work for her last day, say bye to her colleagues and make sure everything is prepared for her maternity leave."
"Ah I see, all excited about becoming a papa?"
Abhi smiled "I can't believe it still, its so weird just when the baby kicks, I still haven't taken it all in, I am going to become a papa!"
Sid laughed
"Chalo, ghar chalte hai..."

At the hospital Shilpa had planned a little party for Niki.
Niki had completed all her work and passed on her current patients onto other staff members. She had just called Abhi to confirm he was coming to pick her up when Shilpa and Tashu came.
"Mam come with us there has been an emergency." Tashu and Shilpa took Niki to the canteen.
A majority of the staff had gathered there with a cake ready and couple of gifts.
They all came up to Niki and gave her gifts and got her to cut the cake.
"We will miss you Mam" Shilpa told her.
"I will miss you guys as well, don't worry I will back before you all know it to make your lifes miserable again." Niki replied
"Mam, I have to go still have work left to do, enjoy your maternity leave and I shall come round and visit you soon. " Shilpa said.
Shilpa left from there.

Niki was sitting there thinking about Shilpa and how hard she has been working and all her problems.
"Mam, you ok?" Tashu asked.
"Yeh, I was just thinking about Shilpa."
"Don't worry about her Mam, she is a fighter."
"I hope so... Anyways don't you have work to do?"
"Yeh, but I am on my lunch break...and yes this late because been rushed off my feet all day."
"Oh ok, sorry I should have noticed."
"Its ok, it comes with being a doctor, patients come first."
Niki was about to reply when she saw Abhi and Sid walk in.
"Bhabhi!" Sid shouted as he walked over to Niki and Tashu.
Sid hugged "Wow, Bhabhi itne beautiful to hap he deke sati ho."
Niki laughed "Still flirting with me, mein ab toh teri bhabhi ho"
"Kya karo mein adat se majbor ho"
Tashu laughed.
"Oh Sid this is one of my interns Tashu, Tashu my brother in law Sid."
They greeted each other.
Abhi interrupted "Ready to go Niki?"
"Yep, all these gifts need to be taken to the car."
"Bhaiya, start lifting" Sid said.
"And what about you help nahi karoge?"
"Nah bro, can't you see I am busy."
"Idiot"
"Goodbye Mam, take care and don't worry about anything here." Tashu said.
"Bye Tashu. Take care." Niki replied.
Sid, Abhi and Niki left.

Niki and Abhi's House
Once they got back, Abhi and Niki left Sid to settle in whilst they decide on getting take out as neither Abhi nor Niki wanted to cook, plus no one had been shopping either.
They were both going about their daily life like normal, and as Sid watched them a sadness passed through him, this was also meant to be his life with his wife... Abhi and Niki noticed a change in his mood but did not say anything...
"I'm tired, I am going to bed... Good night Sid" Niki said and left Abhi and Sid there to clean up and talk.
As they started to clean up Abhi went "Are you ok Sid?"
Sid smiled and said "Yeh, I am fine bhaiya kyun?"
"Sid, I can see that you are lying, your mood has changed and you haven't even irritated me once since you have been here?"
Sid laughed.
"Sid, I know this is a tough time for you, I have been through something similar with Jia, she left me there to die and she destroyed my career as well, it was hard it was so painful. Sid if you ever need to talk you can always come to me."
"I know bhaiya, its just it is so hard I don't know what to do with myself, it was all planned out the future everything was going so well, but where did I go wrong to believe someone loved me as much as loved them? I want to move on bhaiya but I have lost myself, I gave my everything to this relationship and now I feel like I have nothing, who am I meant to be?"
"Sid to find direction is always a struggle, but you will find your way and you will come out stronger, you already are coming out of it, I know you don't believe it but give it time the pain will lessen, it might always be there but you will find some to trust and love again, I mean look at me I found Niki and I am about to be a dad something I had given up hope on years ago."
"Thanks Bhaiya" Sid hugged Abhi.
"Idiot, you don't have to thank me and if you have anything bothering you let me know."

Hehehheehe like I was going to make SidShi's meeting so easy 😆 you guys will just have to wait a little longer!
