Her head, Pia thought slowly. And her back. In fact, she hurt all over. And she felt like she was blind, or she had her eyes shut. She tried to open them. Nothing changed. She tried blinking. She couldn't see anything. Blackness. She'd never seen real darkness before. This was different than when she shut her lights in her bedroom at night. There was moonlight, some faint human light. This was solid darkness. No matter how wide she opened her eyes, she could feel it pushing down on herself.

Just breathe, she told herself. Okay. You have got to get out of here. Are you hurt?

She couldn't tell. She had to try hard to sense her own body. She tried to stand up. Very slowly. She couldn't.

She could move her arms and her legs, but when she tried to lift her body, something hurt at her waist. She was tied up.

There was something hard against her back. A tree?

The rope obscured her breathing a little. It tied her securely to the post. It was too flat to be a tree. She couldn't feel any knots with her fingers. The ground under her was dirt and rock.

Maya put her here. She left her to die all alone in the dark.

Pia lost control. She screamed and pulled and twisted her hands in the rope until it started bleeding. She moved her whole body and tried to loosen the rope. She finally gave in to the fear and cried out loud. She felt alone.

Her hand flew up to wipe her tears. Get a grip, she told herself. Help yourself, because there's nobody else to do it. No more crying. Think.

She didn't want to believe it. There was no escape. She was in a cave. God knows how deep inside. Deep enough that she couldn't see any light.

Think about Abhay. When he finds that she is missing, he'll look for her. He won't give up until he finds her. But she will be dead by then, she added. Another life where she missed him.

It was so hard to keep on hoping that it's going to work out. She will meet him again. And she might not be so stupid then. She might not fall for Maya's tricks. And it will be harder for him, he'll wait for the years to pass. He'll find her. He'll come for her. She really did try this time. She didn't mean to mess things up.

She touched the ring on her finger. Promise me that you will look for me. Promise me you will find me. Promise me you will wait for me. No matter how long it takes.

Was that a noise?

Pia sat up, leaning forward, trying very hard to catch a noise.

She thought she'd heard.. yes. Footsteps. And it was coming closer.

Pia's heart was beating so fast she could hardly breathe to yell. ''Abhay, I am over here.''

The footsteps came closer. No answer. ''Abhay?''

The flashlight was swung in her face. She looked away, blinded.

''I hope I didn't disturb you.''

She put down the flashlight and a bag blackpack. She stood up in front of her and looked at her.

''I didn't know vampires could change into bats.'' Pia said.

Maya laughed. She looked beautiful. Her long black hair fell in waves around her. Her skin was pale, and her eyes were dark. ''Not all vampires can shapeshift.'' She answered. ''But, then, I am not like the other vampires. I am the first, the original. And I am getting really sick of you.''

''Why don't you leave me alone? Leave me and Abhay alone.''

''Because then, I wouldn't win. And I have to win.'' She looked at Pia, her face serious, voice soft. ''Don't you understand that yet? I have to win because I have given up too much to lose. It can't be all for nothing.''

Pia blinked. She understood. Maya had spent all her life keeping Pia and Abhay apart. Her long life. Thousands of years. If she lost, her life became meaningless. ''It won't do you any good. You're going to kill me, okay. But you won't get Abhay. He will just hate you more and wait for me come back.''

She picked her backpack up and smiled at Pia. ''Will he?''

''He will. Unless you kill him, too.''

Her lips curved in a grin. ''Interesting idea. But not what I had in mind. I need him alive, he is my prize. When I win, I need a prize.''

''He will wait.''

''Not if you're not coming back.''

''And how do you arrange that?''

''Look at this, Pia. Look.'' She was holding up a mirror. She looked at the mirror and gasped. It was her face..not her face. Maithali's face. Her birthmark was gone. Faded. She looked beautiful. Her skin was pale, creamy. Her eyes were brighter. Her mouth was softer.

''I exchanged blood with you last night. That's why you slept so long. You're changing already. One more exchange of blood should do it, maybe two. I don't want to rush things. I don't want you dying before you become a vampire.''

Pia whispered. ''But why? Why make me a vampire?''

She put the oval mirror back in the backpack and took a stake out. A black wooden stake. ''Vampires don't come back. I don't exactly understand how, but vampires don't reincarnate. They just die. Maybe because making them a vampire takes their soul away, but I don't know.''

''I won't let you.'' She whispered. ''I won't-''

''You can't stop me.'' She said, amused. ''Those ropes are strong, they'll hold you when you become a vampire as well. You can't do anything against me.''

She knelt down in front of Pia. She saw her long sharp teeth. Pia fought. She knew that it was hopeless. Maya was stronger than she was. Pia found herself with both hands pinned and her throat exposed.

She understood why Maya had forced her to drink vampire blood before in Abhay's disguise. It was a part of the plan.

She struggled again. No use. She could feel her blood being drawn out. She could feel Maya drinking. Maya titled Pia's head back, pressing her wrist to her mouth. She didn't want to drink. But she found herself choking on Maya's blood. She wound up coughing, trying to clear her throat. Maya sat back.

''Yes. It's going very well. One more should do it. You would have been a vampire now, if you hadn't stabbed me with a pencil on our first exchange.''

''Abhay will kill you when he finds out.'' Pia snapped.

''And break his promise? I don't think so. This wouldn't be happening if he hadn't broken his promise to me. He told me that you wouldn't come between us anymore. But the next time I see you, there you are, protected in his own house. He should have known better.''

Pia began. ''He didn't even know I was there. He doesn't know-''

''Don't expect me to believe anything you say.'' She straightened up and sighed. ''I am going to leave you for a while, now. I will be back tonight to finish this job. I won't be late, don't worry.''

''Maya, Abhay didn't break his promise.''

''I hope you won't be too lonely.'' She laughed.

''Maya-''

''See you later.'' She picked up the backpack and walked away. She ignored Pia's yelps and left her in the dark.

The werewolf jumped fist. His hand went out for the wooden club and he smashed it sideways into Raj's head. He threw the club away. He didn't need it. He was baring his teeth, trying to tear his throat out.

Misha ran.

Not towards Raj. She couldn't help him bare-handed. She ran towards the car, into the cloud of smoke.

She could feel the heat on her cheeks, on her arms. She dropped to her knees when she heard a sound behind her.

A wolf howling.

He knew what she was doing. He had seen that knife every time he visited. He was going to stop me..

She threw herself into the smoke. The door handle burned her hand. She fumbled at it. When the door swung open, hot air enveloped her. She wouldn't be able to stand it if she was completely human. But she'd exchanged blood with a vampire and a werewolf in two days. She wasn't Misha any more..but could she kill?

Her fingers touched the metal..the knife. The silver knife her dad had given her for protection. It was very hot. Her hand closed on it and she pulled it from under the seat just when something came flying at her from behind.

She had to face whatever was attacking her, she turned. She could have turned without pointing the knife at what was attacking her. she could have slanted it towards the ground or towards herself.

She didn't. The knife faced the thing that attacked her. She felt impact in her wrist. She felt teeth in her hair, snapping for her neck. She felt claws scratching her arms. She was still holding the knife, trying to keep her grip on it. it jerked around, buried in the wolf's chest.

''You hate me, don't you?'' She whispered as he pulled away. ''I chose Raj over you. I hurt you with silver. You're dying.''

She let go of the knife and kicked at the wolf with her arms and legs. She managed to crawl a few feet away. The wolf stayed there, against fire. And then the car went up in flames.

The wolf didn't come out.

Misha sat up. Smoke filled her throats and when she tried to yell Shaurya's name, nothing came out. No wonder, with a silver knife in it's chest and fire around it.

He would have killed her. Like any good hunter. She had to defend himself. She had to save Raj..and Rhea. He would have killed them. He would have killed more people. He was crazy..and evil.

She was shaking but she couldn't cry. She'd been so paralyzed she forgot Raj. She jumped up.

He was stll lying there. But he was breathing. And when she touched his face, he moved. He looked at her. ''Stay there.'' She told him. She picked up Shaurya's shirt which was lying on the ground. ''Raj, keep still..''

He tried to sit up. ''Don't worry. I will protect you.''

''Lie down.'' Misha pushed him back. ''He's dead.''

''Did I kill him?''

Misha managed a wary smile. She was relieved, Raj could breathe and talk and he sounded like himself. His scars were healing.

''You didn't answer my question.''

''No. You didn't kill him. I did.''

His eyes opened. They just looked at each other for a moment. ''I am sorry.'' He whispered. He pushed the shirt away and sat up. ''I am sorry.'' He threw his arms around her, pulling her in a hug. His face rested on his shoulder as he closed his eyes in guilt. While, Misha was thinking about whatever happened tonight and how she'd never be the same person again.

''Atleast it's over now. There won't be any more killings. It's over.''

The first sob was hard to get out. She cried for a while. The fire kept burning and the sparks kept flying everywhere and Raj kept holding him.

Sorry for the short Misha-Raj part. Can't give you more right now. Everything would be ruined. :P The next part = GRAND SEASON FINALE. Starting season 2 after that. :D
