Misha could feel Raj as he said the words telepathically, feel that he meant them desperately, and that there was a lot to make up for.''

the best dialogue in this part , atleast for me is ''''Please don't tempt me.'' He said out loud, his breath warm on her neck. ''If I take too much, it will make you seriously weak. I mean it, Mish.''

the entire shaurya transition was brilliantly described .... loved misha's reaction seeing the wrath in shaurya's eyes 😛 uff !!! I can't help it ... I like everything about this part or for that matter your writing style ... After completing this FF you should seriously think about publishing it yaar 😛 trust me , it has so far been brilliant and I am sure it will be so later too or may be much more brilliant than what i have read till now ... 👏👏👏
For a long second she thought that this was not going to work. That he couldn't even hear her. But then he lifted his head. She saw his face, saw the blood on his chin.
Behind her, her hands were working automatically, as if she'd always known how to get herself out of ropes. The bleeding helped and she could feel the ropes slide a little.
''Please help me understand.'' She said again, breathless, holding his gaze. ''I am your friend, we go back a long way.''
He still had human features, and she could see a human streak in those black eyes. His lips came back over his teeth. When he spoke, it was more like Shaurya speaking, it was his voice. ''We do go back.'' He said. ''I have known you since the past 2 years, and I have seen you watching me.''
Misha nodded.
''I always figured that someday, we might be together. I thought maybe that I could make you understand. About me. About everything. I thought that you were the one person who might not be afraid..''
''I am not.'' She answered. She was saying it to a figure in a bloody shirt crouching over a body like a beast ready to attack, and she wasn't scared for herself. She didn't dare look at Raj to see how badly he was hurt. ''And I can understand. You killed Ruhi, didn't you?''
''I didn't want to.'' He looked back at her. ''That night, in the jungle, she saw me changing. I didn't want to kill her, she was a friend. But then, you can't let a human live who knows about the supernaturals.'' He said it matter-of-factly.
''Afterward, I thought maybe it was for the best.'' He went on. ''I thought when Rhea finds her, she'll know there's another supernatural, and she will have to leave.''
He was staring at the woods now. Misha quickly grabbed the opportunity to look at Raj. He wasn't moving at all. And there was blood..so much blood.
She twisted her hands in the ropes, trying to slide free.
''I waited, but she didn't go away.'' He said, her gaze went back to him. ''Instead, she joined the college. I saw Rhea with Kabir a lot of times. I figured she'd fallen for him.''
His face was changing. Hair jutted between his eyebrows, turning them into one. She could see more hair, dark against his skin.
''What's wrong, Misha?''
''Nothing's wrong.'' She forced the words out. She twisted her hand violently, one hand came out. ''Go on. What happened then?''
''I knew that I had to send her a message. I came back next night for Rhea – but you were there. You ran away from me into the shed.'' He moved closer, and the moonlight was reflected through his eyes. The pupils shone green and orange. She saw them in the forest, the night when she exchanged blood with Rhea.
That was why he didn't eat the heart and liver, Misha realized. He didn't kill it for food, it wasn't a normal werewolf killing. And he's not a normal werewolf.
He wasn't like Rhea at all – an animal that hunted to eat.
Of all people, Raj had it right, his joke about rabies..
''You're so beautiful, you know.'' Shaurya's voice snapped her out of it. ''I love your hair.'' He ran a hand through her hair.
''You know how Rhea and Raj's uncle was killed.''
''Everybody does.'' He answered, still moving his fingers in her hair. He had changed so much that his voice was getting hard to understand. ''I arranged a black iris for him, Raj.'' He said the name with pure hatred. ''When I realized that he's here, I killed the goat. The message needed to be violent now.''
His eyes were inches from Misha's, she felt his fingers on her ear. She gave a violent wrench to her hands and both came free. She froze, afraid that Shaurya would notice.
''I threw the goat and ran.'' He said. ''I knew you were all in there. I was so mad, I destroyed the college property. I smashed the windows.''
She clenched her hands, trying to think of what to do. He was so strong and quick.. she wouldn't get a chance.
''And, today, you all came to the college together.'' He said. ''I heard the way he was talking to you. I knew he wanted you, and he wanted to change you into one of them. I had to protect you from that.''
How could she attack him? She didn't even have a weapon. She needed silver.
Shaurya stepped back. He took his shirt off. ''I followed you here and I damaged your car so that you couldn't leave.'' He said. ''I heard you say you wanted to be a vampire.''
Misha opened her mouth but he went on. ''But that was a mistake. Werewolves are much better. You will understand when I show you.''
She realized what he meant by protecting her, by making her understand. He meant changing her into something like him.
She needed a silver weapon.
Behind Shaurya, the car was almost invisible in the clouds of smoke. It's too dangerous, she thought.
He was still talking. ''You won't miss the Lords, their stupid restrictions, no killing humans, no hunting too often. Nobody tells me how to hunt.''
Suddenly, he broke off and turned around sharply. Misha saw his lips go back again, he was ready to bite. She saw why – Raj was moving. Sitting up. Looking around. He saw Misha, and blinked. He looked at Shaurya.
''You-get away from her.'' He shouted in a voice that Misha had never heard before. A voice filled with fury. He jumped up in a graceful motion, his muscles tensed, ready to fight.
Pia woke up to see sunshine reflecting off the walls, which were painted a soft gold. She found clean clothes - her size - lying on the bed. She had just finished putting them on when Haseena knocked.
''Aunty, have they-''
Haseena shook her head. ''They haven't found him yet.''
Pia sighed.
''I know. While you wait, though, I thought you'd like to know some more about the supernatural world. And I want you to know about some special people.''
Pia was curious. ''Special people? Are they humans or..uh?''
Haseena smiled. ''Both. That's why they're special.'' She took a seat on the bed and motioned for Pia to take a seat. ''Abhay created a Cirle Unity to bring humans and supernaturals closer, break all the barriers between them, all these stupid rules about not being able to fall in love with one of them. So far, they have been a success..well, kinda. You know Rhea?''
Pia nodded.
''Rhea's a part of this circle Unity, too. Her dad was a human while her mom and she is a werewolf. ''
Pia looked at her, startled.
''Yeah. And that's against the laws of the supernatural world. You can't fall in love with a human, much less marry them. The Lord of the Saxena clan came one night and killed her dad. They would have killed her mom and Rhea, too, but then he figured he could use them in his army of supernaturals. Abhay got her out of that clan. That's why she'd do anything for him. She wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him..and Circle Unity.''
Pia was listening to all of this, half curious, half afraid. ''What other people are there?''
''There's a witch, Panchi. Have you met her?''
Pia shook her head.
''There are this guy from the Saxena clan, Mayank, and his human soulmate, Alisha.''
''Human?''
''He changed her.''
''But-'' Pia looked at her. ''-Isn't that forbidden?''
Haseena laughed. ''Everything is far in love and war. Besides, Abhay would protect him and her, he'd protect anyone that's a part of Circle Unity.''
''What exactly is Circle Unity?''
''It's for humans and vampires and werewolves and shapeshifters..and, well, anybody who wants to help supernaturals and humans get along.
''Does a lot of supernaturals have human soulmates?''
''That's the thing, you see. We think some Old Power is causing a lot of supernaturals to fall in love with humans.''
''But, that's wonderful.'' She said, trying hard to gather her thoughts.
''I know what you mean. I think so, too.'' Haseena smiled. Her smile disappeared instantly. ''The thing is, we haven't got enough members in the Circle yet. Barely four. They are all dangerous people to know, they are on everybody's hit list, and they have got the whole supernatural world against them.''
''I think-'' Pia began. Before she could finish, there was an explosion of noise from somewhere outside.
''Stay here.'' Haseena warned, but Pia ran with her toward the front of the door.
She heard a wolf yowling. Snarling. Short barks. Two other wolfs joined the first. There was one long howl and it was over.
The front door opened. Haseena and Chand walked in, smiling. ''Just some scouts. We ran them off.''
''Scouts from Maya?'' Pia asked, a sinking feeling in her stomach again.
Haseena nodded. ''It will be okay, but I think all of you better stay inside today.''
She spent the rest of her day talking about Circle Unity. The more she found out about them, the more she liked them. She wanted to meet them. She wanted to meet Rhea, Panchi, Alisha and Mayank. She wanted Abhay back.
But it wasn't esay. She found herself walking restlessly through the house.
She stood alone in a dim room on the second floor. She wanted to go sleep, and maybe Abhay will be here tomorrow. After all she'd said to him, how would he receive her? What if he doesn't want her after all? Don't be silly. Don't think about it. Go outside and take a deep breath, and go to bed.
Haseena had told her not to open any outside doors- but these doors only led to a second-floor balcony. Pia opened them and stepped out. The air was cool enough to be pleasant.
She couldn't see Abhay's people, but she knew that they were out there, waiting and watching. Guarding her. It made her feel safe.
She was about to turn and go back inside when she heard the scratching. It came from above her, from the roof. She looked up and..
There was a bat hanging from the roof. A bat.
A huge bat. Upside down. It's black wings were wrapped around it and it's small red eyes shone at her.
Her head was spinning. Maybe it's a decoration..no, it's alive..maybe it's somebody to guard her, maybe it's Abhay.
She wanted to scream, but she never got the chance to make a sound. With a snap, the bat unfolded it's wings suddenly.
At the same moment something like lightening hit Pia, a blinding wave of energy. And everything faded to darkness.
