Dev's hand just about reached the rope which was dangling down the chair. He took it and tied Geet's hands with it, quickly making a knot.
Dev: "I'm hungry" he said as he tied the knot
Geet: "Please let me go! I thought of you as my friend" she said and sobbed
Dev stopped.
Suddenly he looked up and Geet saw his face soften. She thought that maybe, just MAYBE he might take pity on her and let her go and find someone else to take blood from.
But he didn't.
He put his attention back to the knot he was trying to tie. Finally, it was securely tight.
Dev pulled Geet closer to him.
Maan: "Geet! Dev sto --"
But he was too late.
Dev already bit onto her neck.
Geet felt entirely numb. She felt weak. She couldn't believe this was happening. Dev was drinking her blood. And soon she would be dead.
Geet should have listened to Maan.
But what did Geet do? He himself came into her bedroom. It couldn't be her fault now could it?
Maan closed his eyes and looked away. He felt tears prick his eyes. He tried everything he could do to not let this happen. But Dev was a vampire. He was more powerful then him.
Dev finished drinking her blood and then wiped his bloody mouth with the back of his hand. There was drips of blood on the floor.
As Dev let Geet go, Geet collapsed to the floor.
Dev didn't care. He simply went back to the way he came from. The balcony, and then went away. Satisfied and content.
Maan looked at Geet. She was still, lying on the floor.
Maan couldn't heal her. There was a vampire mark on her neck. He couldn't heal vampire marks. And Geet lost too much blood. He needed power to heal her, which he didn't have.
He decided to do something any normal person would do. He lifted her up, and took her to the hospital.
As he drove with Geet lying pale and still at the back of his jeep, Maan started crying. He couldn't stop those tears fall from his eyes anymore.
When Maan reached the hospital, he lifted her out of the car and then went inside. He showed her to a doctor.
Doctor: "She's lost all her blood. We need to get blood fast. You never know when she breaths her last breath! She's barely got a pulse. Her blood group is very rare. We don't have her type of blood and --"
Maan: "Give her my blood" he said without thinking.
Maan deeply regretted what he just said. He was an immortal. If he gave blood to Geet then she would turn into an immortal as well.
But this was the choice of Geet's life here.
But what if Geet starts hating Maan for giving her him blood?
But Geet was fighting the jaws of death.
What should he do?
Maan finally came to a decision to just give him his blood to Geet anyway. Immortals never run out of blood. Only when they die they do.
As the doctor checked Maan's blood he had a shocked expression on his face.
Doctor: "What is your blood type?" he asked and looked at the golden coloured blood in the bottle
Maan: "It's rare. Just do it. Please" he said
Doctor: "But..."
Maan: "Just god damn do it! I know what I'm doing!" he said through gritted teeth
The doctor obediantely followed what he said and agreed to each of his commands. After Maan gave blood to Geet, the doctor told Maan to sit outside. Maan did as he was told and sat outside near the room Geet was in.
Maan: "If Geet finds out she's an immortal she'll hate me. She might not even want such" he said and looked for a word
Maan: "Freaky, as Geet likes to call it powers. She wont want to be any of what I am. She thinks i'm a psycho" he said and rested his head against the wall. He decided to go to sleep.
Not that he needed sleep anyway.
After what seemed like 4 hours, the doctor woke Maan up.
Doctor: "You can go inside and see her" he said and excused himself
Maan prepared himself to confront Geet and took a deep breath outside the door of her room and pulled the handle down. The door clicked open.
He saw Geet lying on the hospital bed.
She had a fresh glow on her face. Everything about her has changed. She's an immortal now.
Her eyes are more intense. Just like an immortal.
Her skin is more glowing. Just like an immortal.
She has no wrinkles. Just like an immortal.
She's perfect. Just like an immortal.
She was an immortal.
Maan had completely forgotten he had to tell her this. He wasn't prepared for her reaction just yet.
Geet: "Hi Maan" she said weakly
Maan came and sat down beside her.
Geet: "Did you use some of your freaky powers to cure me? i thought I'd die" she said and chuckled weakly.
Maan chuckled too.
Maan: "No. But..." he said and hesitated
Geet: "But what?" she asked
Maan: "I have something to tell you" he said and looked down
Geet: "What?" she said. Whatever this was, wasn't good. She could feel it.
Well obviously. She was an immortal. She just didn't know.
Maan: "You..." he said
Geet nodded
Maan: "Are an immortal" he said in one go and closed his eyes and then looked away
Geet widened her eyes.
