Part 24

Geet heard knock on her door and she was wondering who could be knocking at this early morning hours. She was rubbing her eyes and eye lashes and yawning while walking towards the entrance door.

She opened the door and she got totally astonished to find Maan at her door but as her eyes rolled from his face to his bare chest, she started laughing.

Maan was standing there, he was supposed to speak up something but he got lost in Geet's smile, she was laughing frantically, it felt like Geet's smile kissed his pain away, her smile alleviated his heart wrenching pain, her smile worked as a magic on his exhausting body, her smile gave him vigor to live again, he completely forgot his fatigue, suddenly cactus tree transformed in to bed of roses in his heart. With her smile, the lines on her face became apparent, her cheeks turned completely pinkish, her lips looked like rose petals, and the sound of her laughter was worth to die for.

Maan wanted to freeze the time at this moment, he wanted to last this smile as much as he could, he wanted to forget all the reality besieged by them and wanted to stare at her for day and night till the last breath. This one moment had given him euphoria that he wouldn't mind death after this moment. This one moment had changed everything in him, his each nerve felt elation, his each muscle felt relaxation, and his each heartbeat was moving hysterically.

He was staring at her incessantly and finally she stopped smiling and asked "Maan, where is your shirt? Do you think you are Salman Khan?"

Maan didn't notice that he forgot his shirt and he left his torn shirt in the garden.

Maan started smiling as he understood the reason behind Geet's smile. By looking at his smiling face, Geet started laughing again.

Their laughter filled the air with happiness and alacrity. At last, both got exhausted by their laughter and Geet was holding her stomach as she felt pain in stomach because of laughter's abundance.

Finally both controlled their laughter.

"Maan, what are you doing here at this time?"Geet asks.

Maan was standing stiffly with no move, and at first he didn't know what to say.

"Geet, I came…………….Oh ya I came to the jogging park so I thought you might be interested in it as well, I thought to drop by and ask you."Maan stammers.

Geet felt little bizarre by his answer and his stammering.

"But without a shirt?"Geet asks with smile.

Maan was speechless for a second then quickly he found an excuse to run away for this question.

"Oh, my shirt got torn while I was leaving so I took it off."Maan says.

"Would you like to come in, Maan?"Geet asks.

She pointed her finger towards couch and told him "Maan, you can sit here while I will get ready for jog."

She was walking towards her room while Maan was watching her movements, she was in her pink night ware and without any make up, she was looking angelic.

Geet went to her room and Maan was staring at the wall hangings in her living room. All wall hangings had one thing common, which was cheeriness and lightheartedness, one picture was of smiling people in some village locality, second was of bunch of red roses, third was of a smiling village girl carrying a small puppy in her hand, and while he wanted to explore more pictures, Geet came out of her room wearing a yellow sweatshirt and white track paint while carrying one more sweatshirt in her hand.

"Maan, this is a sweatshirt if you would like to wear otherwise you can show your six packs to girls at jogging park and I am sure a few girls would definitely fall for you."Geet says with teasing sound.

Maan smiled and took a sweatshirt from her hand and wore it.

They did jogging for an hour without much of talking and they stopped when they got tired. Maan had many questions in his mind but he didn't know where to start and how to ask.

He looked at ring in her ring finger. The ring was definitely beautiful but not more than Geet.

By looking at her finger, Maan was unknowingly feeling wary; he was clenching his teeth and clasping his fist. For a second, he felt that this could be his ring to her and with that thought, he got startled and he tried to control his feelings.

Maan thinks "What are you thinking Maan? How can you think like this for a girl who is already engaged? Why am I thinking like this for Geet? I rejected her and now she is with someone else, I am feeling jealousy, why, why? I never thought about it when I rejected her. So why would I think today? Did I ever love her?"

And the last question was repeated in his mind for hundred times.

"Maan, would you like to come at my home for a coffee?"Geet asks.

Maan accepted the offer.

Geet made a wonderful coffee for both of them.

By the time both came back at Geet's house, Shasha and Pinkey left for their office.

Maan gathered courage to ask questions to Geet.

"Geet, so who is that lucky guy?"Maan asks.

"His name is Sameer, I work in his office, he is in partnership with Jay for Asian Paints, he is a nice man."Geet says passionately.

Maan felt the shiver in his heart by hearing these words from Geet, he couldn't take it more, and now he realized that no matter how hard he tried to hate Geet when she was young, but he liked her always, he never knew his liking for her, he never knew when he fell for this new Geet, he never knew the new feelings produced in his body, and now it became too late to share this feelings, he had to live with this pain forever.

Hundreds of thought ran into his mind to break her relationship with Sameer but all his thoughts became futile when he saw Geet's happiness, she seemed happy and content. At the very moment, he decided not to go between Geet and Sameer's happy life.

For the first time, Maan got some new feelings which he never knew that it existed before and now that he got it, he didn't know how to cope up with it or how to control it, and what to do with it.

At one side he was happy that he got these new feelings but on the other side, he knew that these feelings are useless as it wouldn't result in anything or it wouldn't result in the form which he wanted to see.

The burning jealousy in Maan's heart was inexplicable; he was feeling pain which he never knew existed in his life, for the first time he felt like he didn't care for his life anymore.

Suddenly center of his life got changed, he couldn't identify himself. He was no longer that uptight Maan who couldn't understand emotions, he was completely changed.

Sameer told this good news to everyone in the office while Geet wasn't there, and he started preparing for the engagement party. Today evening was Geet's engagement party and Sameer had collected all the names for invitation, he knew all Geet's friends or classmates or everyone who was friendly with Geet and he decided to invite everyone. The list included Maan's name as well. He sent him an email with the invitation card in it for engagement party.

Sameer's happiness was on cloud nine, he wasn't come out of shock yet, he just couldn't fathom that Geet said yes to him, all his dreams came true in his life when Geet said yes, suddenly he got a new meaning to his life. His entire life filled with colors, colors of happiness, he bought an amazing green sari for Geet to wear in an engagement party, he was paying attention to each minute detail because he wanted to have a perfect party decoration though he knew that it couldn't look better than Geet.

Maan opened his laptop to check emails and he saw an invitation from Sameer for their engagement party.

oyee oyee jealous Maan... his emotions building up ...wen it is going to burst out...OMG wat is going to happen next plz update soon dear...

i am hoping that geet and maan end up together....wonderful update..
