PART 18

The function of Nupur's and Mayank's MAYOUN was taking place at Nupur's house. It was an all girls function and everyone was in great mood. Gunjan has recovered from the awkwardness and was having fun too.

Suddenly her phone rang and she saw Samrat's name flash on her screen.

Gunjan: " hello."

Samrat hello. Hey Gunjan can you come outside for a minute?"

Gunjan:"outside?"

Samrat yup.. I am waiting for you outside Nupur's palce."

Gunjan went outside and saw Samrat's car parked there. She felt a sudden feeling of joy on seeing him.

Samrat: " hello Gunjan. Sorry to have to call you up but aunty is not picking up her phone."

Gunjan: ' no problem."

Samrat: " Ria'"

Ria came out of the car. She was wearing a red mini skirt and high heels.

Samrat: " Ria this is Gunjan."

Ria: " hello" ( in a very disinterested manner)

Samrat: " and Gunjan she is Ria, Mayank's cousin and our classfellow."

Ria came closer to Samrat and mingling her arms with his said: " you forget to mention I am your only girl friend too."

Gunjan felt sadness envelope her for which she could found no reason. She lowered her eyes and tried to shake off the sudden feeling of loss she was experiencing.

Samrat: (completely ignoring Ria) " can you please take her inside? The function is all girls so I cant and as aunty is unavailable so I thought you can'"

Gunjan: " yeah sure no problem. Shall we go Ria? Bye Sam."

Gunjan passed Ria a smile and turned away.

Gunjan introduced Ria to Kinza.

Gunjan: " Kinza she is Rai and Ria she is Kinza , Nupur's sister. I will just go and find aunty."

the function went on till late . Dia, C.J., and Suhani were the last ones to leave while Gunjan decided to spend the night with Nupur. after Kinza bid them goodnight Nupur and Gunjan were left alone in the room.

Nupur noticed that Gunjan was quiet since the last three hours and so asked:

: kya baat hai Gunjan?"

Gunjan didn't reply so Nupur again asked her , this time a little louder than befor.

Nupur: "Gunjan kya hua ?"

Gunjan: " han? mmm' nahe kcuh nahe'"

Nupur went to stand next to Gunjan beside the open window.

Nupur: " is it related to Samrat?"

Gunjan : "errmmm' nahe ' I mean.. Sam kahan se aa gaya beech mein.."

Nupur: " Sam?"

Gunjan: " I mean Samrat.. I mean .. why are we discussing this Nupur? I am very tired.. subah shopping per bhe jana hai' goodnight."

Gunjan left her satnding beside the open window. She took a deep breath' she knew her best friend too well to over look the symptoms.. Gunjan was fast falling for Samrat and Nupur was not sure what she could do. Finally she picked up her phone and dialed Mayank's number.

Mayank: " wow.. aj khairiat hai ? baray log call kar rahay hain?"
Nupur: " hmmmm'"

Mayank: " kya hua Nupur? sub theekh to hai na? Mere princess aj down lag rahe hai."

Nupur( sighs) : " Mayank mein Gunjan ko le ker pareshan hoon.."

Mayank: " kyun kya hua? Gunjan theekh to hai na?"

Nupur: " theekh he to nahe.. pichle kuch dino se wo bohat khoi khoi se rehte hai'"

Mayank: " maybe she is tired.. after all she is handling all the major marriage arrangements..."

Nupur: " wo baat nahe hai.. Gunjan to itne excited hote hai is tarhan ke kamon ke liay but recently'"

Mayank: " Nupur why don't you say it clearly' what is bothering you?"

Nupur: " Myank you remember a few weeks back you mentioned something about Samrat and Gunjan'"

Mayank( after a brief pause) : " hmmm'"

Nupur: " do you really think Samrat likes Gunajn?"
Mayank: " dekho Nupur Sam ne kabhe kuch kaha to nahe but mujhe aksar aise feel hua' kyun tmen bhe kuch aisa laga?"

Nupur: " mujhe lagta hai' (taking a deep breath) I think Gunjan likes Samrat'"

Mayank was sitting alone in his room pondering over what Nupur told him. He was aware of Nupur's anxiety and was himself worried.

Mrs. Sharma: " chup chup bethe ho zarror koi baat hai' pehle mulaqat to ab shadi ke he baad hai'"
Mayank laughed in spite of himself.

Mayank: " kya mom aap bhe' where do you get these ideas from?"

Mrs. Sharma( patting herself on shoulder) " genious' tmen to Shuker ada karna chahiay itne intelligent mom mile he."

Mayank: " haha' aap ab tak soye nahe?"
Mrs. Sharma: " tum bhe to nahe soye.. kya baat hai?"
Mayank: " kuch nahe mom' bs'"

Mrs. Sharma: " tu jitna marzi bara ho jaey mujhese kuch nahe chupa sakta ' ky abaat hai beta?"
Mayank: " mom' agar aap ka aik bohat acha dost ho aur apko lagay ke usko koi larke pasand hai.. aur wo larki bhe use pasand karti hai.. to aap kya karoge?"
Mrs. Sharma: " lo dasso.. ye bhe koi pochne wale baat hue? Aur wese bhe meine to kuch kar bhe dia'"

It was Mayank's turn to get shocked.

Mayank: " what are you talking about mom?"

Mrs. Sharma: " Samrat and Gunjan"

Mrs. Sharma : " Ria beta ? tum itna jaldi kese uth gaye?"

Ria: " wo aunty meine socha mein bhe apkay sath shopping per chalti."

Mrs. Sharma: " ye to bohat ache baat hai.. chaloo aa jao tum bhe hmare sath shopping per chalo.. Samrat kb se gari mein wait ker raha hai."
