Part 3

Geet shocked just stood there for a while panic-stricken by what happened. Sonali came out to find her and saw her.

'Geet what happened'. Geet came out of her shock and looked at Sonali and hugged her. She saw Anurag coming so she grabbed Sonali and took her to the bathroom. She didn't want Anurag to know.

'Sonali, just now a person came up to me and held me tight and kissed me roughly telling me I belong to him and he is going to marry me'. Geet told Sonali the whole conversation.

'Geet do you know who it was?'

'It was Maan Singh Khurana'. Sonali was stumped, not only did she know Maan Singh Khurana but she was related. His mum was her mum's sister making her his first cousin. She didn't know what to do and didn't want to tell Geet. If Maan wanted Geet then he would get her. Sonali knew all about her cousin and how he would get what he wanted for himself and for her. Sonali was close to Maan. When Sonali wanted something but she couldn't get it, she wouldn't mind but Maan would make sure she would get it.

'Geet, urm don't tell Anu, he might get worried okay. Are you alright? Lets go home yeah and don't worry about Maan, he was probably drunk or something.' Geet and Sonali came out the bathroom after Geet composed herself.

'Geet what happened are you alright?' asked Anurag concerned.

'yeah lets go home, I'm tired'

Anurag dropped Sonali and Geet home. Geet went to bed and decided not to worry about anything. In a few days she will get married to Anurag and whoever that was will back off.

The following day Sonali went to see Maan at his office.

'Heeey Sonali you here?'. Maan came and gave Sonali a big hug. Sonali didn't respond. Maan noticed that. He saw the stern look on her face.

'what happened little sister?' Sonali turned to look at him.

'what happened? You know exactly what happened bhai' Maan looked at her confused and then realised.

'ohh Geet, your soon to be sister in law'

'Bhai what are you doing don't you know that Geet is …'

'engaged yeah I know'

'so why don't you leave her alone, she loves Anurag and Anurag loves her so leave them in peace and find someone else'

'NOOOOOO' Maan said angrily. He grabbed Sonali hard from the shoulders and said

'GEET CAN'T BE ANYONE ELSES, SHE CAN'T LOVE ANYONE. SHE IS MINE AND WILL ALWAYS BE MINE'

'bhai let go your hurting me'. Maan let go of Sonali

'Sorry but don't join Geet's name with anyone elses but mine. Understood and about her marriage it will happen with me only understood'

'but bhai please'

'Sonali, I have always helped you till date and never interfered in your matters'

'but bhai Geet is my best friend. I want her happiness'

'I know I will keep her happy'

'No buts, just be prepared to welcome Geet as your sister in law and you will help me understood.'

'Good girl Anywyas are you not getting late for college its almost 10, let me drop you'

Maan dropped Sonali to college and waited until he saw Geet walk through the gate. He stared at her until she met up with Sonali and went to class.

Evening

'Hello Sonali' Maan rang her

'yes bhai,'

'Where is Geet now?'

'She has gone to the orphanage to play basket ball with the kids and Anurag is meant to pick her up'

'Call Anurag and tell him that Geet doesn't need picking up'

Sonali rang Anurag and told him that Geet didn't need picking up. Anurag accepted and went to bed early as he was leaving for Malaysia for a meeting.

Basketball court.

It was almost almost 9pm. Maan was still watching Geet playing basketball with the kids. He loved the way she moves. After 9pm, Geet ushered the kids inside the orphanage to sleep and had a quick shower and returned. She was wearing a red sleeveless top and a black jogging pants. Her hair was opened. She came back out and decided to clean up and put the balls away and food wrappers that the kids had for a break in the bin. She tied her wet hair up in a pony tail. She looked at the time and saw it was 9.30pm knowing Anurag will be here any minute now. She moved towards the cupboard where the basket balls are kept when the lights of the basketball pitch turned off. Geet dropped the basketball. She moved back and banged into a hard chest. She turned around and hugged the person.

'Thank God you're here, the lights turned off automatically. You know how much I'm scared of the dark' Geet said hugging him. Maan had moved towards the basketball pitch earlier before the lights turned off and Geet had hugged him. He smiled and hugged her back.

'Don't worry sweetheart I'm here now' Geet opened her eyes and broke out of the hug. She looked up to see Maan through the moonlit sky. The lights turned back on.

'you, what are you doing here?'

'I'm here to see my would be wife'

'I'm not your would be wife I'm Anurag's fianc understood' She said glaring her eyes at him. He grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him. Geet heartbeats rose. He grabbed her finger and pulled Anurags ring off and put his ring on in its place. Geet gasped in shock and horror. He put Anurags ring in Geet's pocket. Geet tugged and tried to get Maan's ring off but it was stuck on too hard.

'Even you can't stop destiny' Maan smiled at her. Geet went to her bag on the bench and Maan stood there waiting for her. Her phone battery had died. She waited there for Anurag. It was past 11.

'Sweety, come with me I'll drop you home. It is my duty to take care of my fianc.'

Geet rolled her eyes at him. Maan scoffed.Geet grabbed her bag and scarf. Geet walked out the basketball pitch and started walking. There were a few (3) drunken guys hooting at her. Geet ignored them and still walked towards home. The guys surrounded her.

'Excuse me' Geet said trying to move out of there way.

'noooo excuse uss' The guys said. They surrounded Geet. Geet closed her eyes. They pulled her scarf off that she was wearing around her neck. One of the guys had grabbed her hands. Geet with her other hand slapped the guy who grabbed her hand. The other 2 guys grabbed her hand tightly and pulled her towards a tree. The guy who was slapped her came forward towards her. Geet stuggled and tried to free herself. He came closer and held her by the cheeks and slapped her.

'bloody bitch how dare you slap me, now watch what I do to you'.Geet closed her eyes. He held her cheeks and brought himself to kiss her when Maan came out of no where and grabbed the guy and punched him. Anger was evident in his eyes. He could not stand any other guys touching his GEET. The other two guys let go of Geet and went to help there accomplice. In a matter of time the 3 guys were on the floor lying in pain. Maan made a few calls and the guys were taken away in a police jeep. He turned to see Geet whose eyes were closed with fright. He grabbed her scarf and put it around her. Geet opened her eyes. She looked at him with gratefulness something stirred in her heart.

'Come on I'll drop you home. No Arguments'

'No don't worry ill manage'. Geet replied meekly picking up her bag. But before she knew it. Maan had grabbed her and carried her over his shoulder and walked towards his car.

'Let go of me how dare you stupid guy' Geet shrieked scared to be alone with him.

Maan paid no attention but he grabbed her and dropped her in the passenger side seat. He sat in his seat. Geet tried opening the door but he had locked it.

'Open the door I don't want to go with you'

'oh really so should I leave you to those hooligans out there, do you even know what they can do to you'

'so I know karate I can fight back'

'really like you did right now'

'well if you do anything to me watch'

Maan smiled. He clearly knew she did not trust him and was scared of him and was just showing fake confidence.

'well lets see, I can do anything to you in just 5 minutes' Maan said moving closer to Geet.
