Geet: MUUUMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!! –

She had been woken up with a bucketful of cold water once again for the third time running in this week.

Mum: hahah – ab utho madam jee – It's 7.30 already – You're going to get late if you don't get a move on.

Geet: But....but......why do you need to wake me like that – you could just do what all normal mums do!!!! Geet said as she half-heartedly got herself out of bed, dripping from head to toe

This was not good – each day Geet's mum would go out of her way to wake her fragile daughter in the most weirdest of ways – a bucketful of COLD water splashed over her – drenching not only Geet, but her Pj's and bed linen too – which Geet everyday for the past 3 days was having to wash and dry before redoing her bed and getting into bed each night.

Mum: Uffooo – phirse kuch sochne lagi – MADAM JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Geet: huh...hmm what what??

Mum: *now a little angry* - go get freshened up and ready – I'll go make you some breakfast and I've already made you your lunch.........so hurry up – or else you'll get late....then don't come crying to me.

Geet: Oh my sweeeettttttt sweeeet mummaaaa . I love you soooo soooo much!!!!! You do soo much for me.... *getting closer to her mum and hugging her from the back*.......make my breakfast, make my lunch, care about my every need...........

Mum: Geet get off of me, you are soaking wet bacchii – go get out of those Pj's, before you fall ill and hurry up – I'm not going to repeat myself again – your dad's waiting downstairs – I told him to drop you off today.

Geet: KYA???? No no – Dad's not going to drop me...plzzzzzzzzzzzzz mumma noo I can go by myself...plzzzzz mumma I'm grown up – don't you trust me *with her puppy eyes knowing well her mum will melt seeing them*

Mum: Don't try those eyes with me young lady – Yes I know you are all grown up now – still can't believe how fast time flies – I still remember your first day at school..... you were sooo looking sooo cute in that uniform of yours – haii....but you'll always be my bacha for me no matter what......until of course........

Geet: Until... kya?? What mumma??

Mum: Until of course you get wed off and have your own bache – then of course.......the title of being my bacha will shift over to your kids na...... *mum said looking at geet with a smile on her face*

Geet: MUM!!! Not again!!!!

And with that she stomped off to the shower room, whilst she heard her mum's laughter in the background rejoicing her win as she once again managed to irritate Geet over the "W" issue.

The "wedding" issue – which Geet always hated. She had her own dreams and fantasies like all girls but the thought of having to leave her parents behind was not even worth considering. Even though they still would have Jai.

Jai – Geet's younger brother................. by a few mins. They were twins and both adored each other not like the typical bhai-behan always fighting and nagging each other....oh noo...they both were totally the shadow of the other – always on the same level of thinking and always looking out for each other. They shared a sweet relationship – they both knew everything about each other....more than the parents could ever know. Both shared their sorrows and both celebrated in their successes.

Jai unlike Geet, was into architecture and constructing things, perhaps because of their father's failed attempts of not bringing forth his business issues into the quality family time they shared. Geet's father was the owner of Handa Constructions – very successful company and was in the top list of rich men in the UK – he was always invited to various parties and dinners and was involved in many projects overseas. Initially he had thought Geet and Jai both would handle the company and whilst Jai seemed to show keen interest, Geet on the other needed time. Geet was always in the search of something new – something different – her parents had assured her that they would always be there to help her fulfil her dreams but she always wanted to be independent and they understood that too. Geet had just joined a London university and was doing a degree in a science field – though she never liked biology back at school – but she took it as a challenge and wanted to succeed further in life.
