So here it is Maaneet Wedding!

part 8

The time had come...Geet Handa was to become Geet Khurana and this time officially and to the right brother. She stood in front of the mirror and looked at her reflection. She wanted today to be beautiful and simple and wanted her clothes to be just the same so she had opted for a long red dress with a beautiful embroidery on her chest and a slit on her left leg and a gorgeous string design on her back and a dupatta too hanging off her left shoulder. She left hair down and curly and her make up was very simple with a bindi as the finishing touch. Rose knocked on the door "geet are you ready it's time to go!" "yes Rose I'm ready just coming!" she said as she took a final look in the mirror and smiled. She opened the door to see Rose stood in front of her "oh my god! Geet!" she said loudly "you look absolutely stunning oh my god today Maan will be gone! He will not be able to take his eyes off of you!" she said excitedly as Geet blushed as said "thank you Rose" Rose smiled and handed Geet her bunch of red roses "come let's go!" she said and took Geet to the car.

Maan stood waiting for Geet was getting nervous and couldn't stop fidgeting with his collar or his hair or anything "calm down yaar why you so nervous!" George said as he laughed. "first time getting married of course I'm going to be nervous! today is the day I never thought was going to happen! I mean what if she changes her mind? What if she doesn't come?" Maan starting to get more worried! "relax man nothing like that is going to happen! She will come!" he put his hand on Maan's shoulder to reassure him. "look she is here!" he said as he spotted the car and pointed in that direction to show Maan.

Geet looked out of the window when the car had stopped and wondered why they were at the beach. "come on Geet" Rose said as she opened Geet's side of the door. Geet stepped out and asked Rose "why are we at the beach?" Rose smiled and took Geet's hand "surprise!" she said and took Geet to where Maan was. Maan was stood underneath a canopy covered in white and red roses looking in one direction only waiting for Geet to appear and so she did his eyes fixed on her feet he slowly admired every inch of her as his eyes moved up he was a man truly mesmerized by the beauty that stood before him. Geet slowly walked towards Maan with the biggest smile on her face, George came forward and took Geet's hand to help her onto the canopy and went back to stand next to Maan as his best man. "You're looking so beautiful" he whispered to Geet and watched her blush. "today I am going to be the luckiest man in the world" he took Geet's hand and kissed it. "we are ready Father!" George said.

"Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today in the presence of these witnesses, to join Maan Singh Khurana and Geet Handa in matrimony, which is commended to be honourable among all men; and therefore ' is not by any ' to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly ' but reverently, discreetly, advisedly and solemnly. Into this holy estate these two persons present now come to be joined. If any person can show just cause why they may not be joined together ' let them speak now or forever hold their peace." Maan, Geet, Rose and George all looked at each other. "no one here objects Father carry on carry on!" George said and Father nodded and continued. "Maan place the ring on her finger and say your vows" Maan took the ring from George and took Geet's hand into his and slipped the ring on her finger.."I Maan Singh Khurana, take you Geet Handa, to be my wedded wife. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish 'till death do us part. And here to I pledge you my faithfulness." he smiled and Geet smiled back. "Geet, ring and your vows" she nodded and did the same "I Geet Handa take you Maan Singh Khurana, to be my wedded husband. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish 'till death do us part. And here to I pledge you my faithfulness." she said with misty eyes. "I now pronounce you husband and wife you may kiss the bride" George and Rose start to clap and Maan leans forward to give Geet a soft kiss on her lips. "finally" he said "you have become Mrs.Khurana..I've been waiting for this day since I first laid eyes on you!" she smiled "me too!"

Geet and Maan signed the register to legally be binded with Rose and George signing as witnesses. "congratulations guys! We are so glad we could be part of this but we shall have to take your leave now as we have to go out of town! But next time your in Goa let us know and we can have a good catch up!" George said as be put his hand out to shake Maan's hand. "thanks a lot George and you too whenever you're in Delhi don't hesitate to call around!" Rose smiled and nodded and gave Geet a hug and both left as Maan and Geet watched on waving goodbye.

"So Mrs.Khurana..what now?" He nudged her'"Well i don't know about you but I am starving!..she said "Again you mention food!" he looked frustrated "I was joking!" she pulled a face. "Let's go..it's getting dark and today was a very tiring day we have to go back tomorrow too no?" She linked arms with Maan's "yes you're right today was truly a tiring day but one of the best days of my life.." he said and kissed Geet's forehead.."Mine too" she replied as they walked towards the car to head back to the hotel. They reach their hotel room and entered in and saw the whole room covered in red rose petals and candles.."Maan'what's this?" She looked shocked. "I know that a wedding night. is suppose to be special between a newly married couple and I know that you will not feel comfortable in your current state and neither would I but I still wanted to make it romantic for you". He smiled. "I am so lucky to have you in my life" Geet said and hugged Maan. "Fair enough nothing is going to happen and yesterday you managed to agree to sharing a bed but tonight you have no problems right Mrs. Khurana?" He smirked. "Ha ha ha enough of the sarcasm I'm going to get changed!" She stormed off. She came back few minutes later dressed for bed and saw that Maan had already fallen asleep..she smiled and got into bed and got close to him and wrapped her arms around him and kissed his bare shoulder and too fell asleep.

Next morning Geet woke up to get a shower and thought she'd wake Maan up after and allow him to sleep a little extra. She got out of the shower and saw Maan awake reading the paper.."Good morning.." she smiled..he lowered the paper "Good morning darling!" "Darling?" she laughed "Yes darling..now you're my wife I can call you..jaano..darling..babe..sexy! whatever I want!" Geet opened her mouth to show how shocked she was "bhadmash!" she said. "Anyway I have a wedding gift for you!" He said and got up from the bed to get it.."for me?" "no for Julie!" he said.."again her name!" "Chill there is no Julie Wulie! Yes this is for you, my wife!" he gave it in her hands.."what is it?" she asked.."open and find out!" she smiled and started to open it and saw that it was a gorgeous sari. "You are now the daughter-in-law of the Khurana family so you got to look like one now too!" he folded his arms as he spoke. "Do you like it?" "I love it Maan! Thank you so much! I'll go and get changed now!" She gave him a big kiss on the cheek and ran into the bathroom. After awhile she came out with her sari in place "How do I look?" she asked.."like Mrs.Geet Khurana!" he said making a perfect sign with his hands. "I'll go and grab a shower and then we can leave for the airport!" Maan said and Geet nodded.

Whilst Maan was in the shower Geet sat at the dressing table to do her hair and make up, she decided to dry and straighten her hair and did her make up a bit heavy than usual with nice smokey eyes and red lipstick. Once she was finished Maan too was out of the shower'"don't move!" he said as he walked up to her.."you're not completely ready yet!" He opened the drawer and took out a little pot and a box and opened the box first. "We may have gotten married in a different way to the religion we are but we are still Indians and as an Indian I want my wife to wear a mangalsutra around her neck and sindoor in her maang." He said as he put the mangalsutra around her neck and bent down to make sure it was tightened with his mouth and Geet looked on through the reflection of the mirror. He then turned her around and picked up the pot and took a pinch of sindoor into his fingers and placed it in Geet's parting. Geet turned around to look in the mirror.."There now you are Mrs. Geet Khurana" He smiled and she smiled back at him.

"Oh there's one more thing!" He said and pulled the drawer open again..."Newly weds bangles!" "You know a lot about what newly wedded women wear don't you?" She asked.."I have watched a lot of movies!" He said.."Really? Or have you had a wife previously that wore all these!" she looked with a stern face.. "There was no one before you in my life and there will be no one else after either! Understood?" He said seriously. "Ok baba sorry! Gimme the bangles." "Nope I will put them on for you!" he said as he took her hand and put the bangles on before doing the same with the other hand. "Finally! You get ready too or we are going to miss our flight! And not only will Dadima get angry we still have to explain all of this to her!" She said as she pushed Maan to go and put his clothes on.

All packed and ready to go Maan and Geet leave for the airport few hours later they reached Delhi and made their way home. "Geet I think it's best you wait here and I go and talk to Dadima..i don't want you to enter the house without the whole shaadi ka rasam done after all you are entering your house for the first time as my wife." Geet agreed and waited for Maan to go and talk to Dadima. Maan walked into the house and saw Dadima sat on the sofa. "Maan beta your back! Where's Geet..?" she asked concerned.."Dadima..Geet.." He mumbled.."What Geet? She is ok isn't she?" "She's fine Dadima..it's just that..in Goa..we.." he carried on mumbling "Maan beta tell me clearly what you are trying to say!" she was getting agitated. "Geet and I got married.." he blurted it out'"WHAT?" Dadima said'
