Chapter eight

Madness! Management!! Marriage!!!

Mayank couldn't believe what he was hearing.

Mayank: what? You're cracked finally, aren't you?

Nupur: oh no, I'm not. This is a great idea! Lets get married!

Mayank: oh ya? What about John and Tina? Lets just dump them, shall we? Bat karti hai!

Nupur: mere pass ek plan hai.

Mayank: kya plan? If it involves marrying you then I'm not in it.

Nupur: listen, you and me, we both are trapped. You cant explain the loss to your father and I cant afford to lose this property. But both of us can be saved if we help each other.

Mayank: kayse?

Nupur: see, tumhare deal jo cancel huyi hai wo mere grand pa ki company ke sath thi ,right?

Mayank: ya. To?

Nupur: if I can fulfill the conditions then company meri ho jayegi and I could save your deal. But for that we'll have to get married. Not for real. Just a contract marriage for one year and then we'd split up and get back to our individual lives!

Mayank: bad idea! Main wo products kisi aur company ko bech dunga. Lekin main shadi nehi karunga! Aur john and tina ko kaun samjhayega?

Nupur: ok! Fine! Now what should I do?

Mayank: I don't know! Ok, just chill. Lets think something else.

Both of them were silent for sometimes thinking a plan. Then suddenly mayank came out with one.

Mayank: idea! Paper main ad de te hai. Ke ek ladka chahiye for a contract marriage for a year aur saath main money offer karte hain, say 2 crores. Koi na koi to milhi jayega. What do you think?

Nupur: not bad though. But there's another problem.

Mayank: what now?

Nupur: umm'. I'm turning 24 next month. so we have got only a month to get this done.

Mayank: oh god! How are we gonna manage this in no time?

Nupur: I know. We gotta hurry. So aaj hi ad de dete hain. Aur kal interview ke liye bulate hain.

Mayank: interview? Aur ek din main? Koi nehi aye ga.

Nupur: oh ,hello! I'm not getting married to anybody! Even if it's just a contract marriage!

And we'd have to involve tina in this.

Mayank: use kyun?

Nupur: main apna address ya contact nehi de sakti ad main. Agar meri family ko pata chal gaya to gaye 200 million dollars. And I cant risk that! We have to use her contact.

Mayank: but she's in Mumbai.

Nupur: so call her up. She'd do anything for you.

Mayank: yes she would! By the way nice hindi!

Nupur : thank you, master ji.

Smile crept on their faces.

Well this plan could work. But there was so much possibilities for this to go wrong. But they had to try.

The ad was published in every news paper the next day. And tina was in delhi by noon thanks to mayank. All he had to do is call up and say, 'I miss you janu.' And tina was there. Mayank took her to nupur and explained everything. And thankfully she agreed to help. The next day was the interview day. Meanwhile mayank tried to solve the problem he'd created by meeting to other companies and trying to make a new deal.

Mayank , nupur and tina were the interview board for the candidates. they started interviewing. The first one got rejected due to nupur.

Nupur: he's got mustache and beard! Looks horrible! hu hu......

The second one due to tina.

Tina: kitna stupid tha wo. thik se baat bhi karna nehi ata!

And third one due to mayank.

Mayank: gunde jaisi chal hai. Ek minute main dadi reject kar dengi.

This went on for a long time.

' Bahaut mota hain'

'Size to dekho, nupur ki shoulder tak nehi ata!'

'Qualification kharab hain.'

'Too arrogant and over confident.'

And the list of remaining candidates were getting smaller. They were losing hope and getting frustrated. But finally they got a candidate they liked. When Rohit Baweja entered the interview room, the girls could not help but stare at him. He was extra ordinarily handsome and mayank felt envious. He was smart and intelligent and friendly. He'd done a bachelor degree in physics. He understood the situation completely and agreed to help if chosen. Nupur was happy about him. He was someone she could tolerate for 200 millions.

The next step was convincing john. Which was quite easy. Easier than nupur thought. He agreed to the plan at once and assured nupur that it wont change their relationship. Nupur was so happy to have john in her life. They were all ready to start their drama the next day.

The first part of the drama was to be performed by nupur. She went to her grand ma's room.

Nupur: dadi?

Dadi: ha beta under aao na.

Nupur went inside and sat beside her.

She was feeling a bit nervous but she knew she had to do this.

Nupur: umm'. Dadi aap''.. you know about the will right?

Dadi: ha beta.

Nupur: I'm turning 24 next month. So umm''.

Dadi: tumhe ek mehne main shadi karna hai.

Nupur: um.. ya'.. so I wanted you to meet someone.

Dadi: kaun? Mayank? Bahaut achcha ladka hai. Tumhare liye bilkul sahi.

Nupur: no no. mayank nehi. Wo to mera dost hain.

Dadi: per tumne to kaha tha ke tum kisi aur ko janti bhi nehi!

Nupur: wo''. Mayank ne milaya. His friend. Umm' he's really nice. And I thought if you could meet him.

Dadi: thik hai. Why don't you call him on dinner?

Nupur: really? You're so sweet!!!!!!!

As nupur left the room she felt really happy. The first phase of the plan was completed. She picked up the phone and called mayank.

Nupur: hello, mayank! Guess what dadi man gayi hain. Wo rohit se milna chahti hain. I'm inviting him for dinner.and you gotta come too. ''Mayank???

Mayank: cancel kar do.

Nupur: what? Kya cancel kar du?

Mayank: dinner.

Nupur: but why?

Mayank: kyun ki dadi ko rohit se milne ki koi jarurat nehi hain. I'm marrying you.

Nupur was speechless at his words.
