Two months had passed, neither had spoken to each other, they were simply living their own lives. Geet had settled into the company brilliantly, she was slowly showing her worth and had even been promoted to an assistant position. She was scared, but knew that Dadi was there to support her. Dadi her self had been observing Geet and her goal of seeing the young girl as a permanent fixture in her household was now firmly planted in her mind. Geet would think about Maan everyday, but she knew that it was important for her to be able to look him in the eyes as his equal and not simply a damsel who he had saved. She had slept with many men and Maan was simply another name to add to the list. Although she told herself this every day, she couldn't get rid of the niggling feeling that that she was beginning to feel something for him. The fact that he had told her that they could have something special, that he wanted to be a part of her life made him different. However she knew she could not be with him for she understood that love was not written in her destiny.
Maan too was busy, he had decided to take time out of the police force and had now made the family business his priority. Geet played on his mind all the time, the way she smiled- although he had not see her do it enough, the way she would babble on but make complete sense. He had slowly began to understand that she was right, she did need to understand her self before they could ever be anything, but this did not ease the pain. He missed her, he knew it was strange that he had grown such strong feelings for her in such a short amount of time.
It was now the time of the year when Maan would have meetings with the managers of all of the branches. This year he had arranged the various meetings to be held at one of the most prestigious hotels in Mumbai. The meetings would last for a couple of days and at the end there would be a party. Dadi knew about this and had cleverly arranged for Geet to accompany the manager whilst they travelled away. She had, had enough of the children not talking to each other, unaware of what had happened that led them to cut each other out of the other's life, she was not going to let it continue. Geet was very excited about going away but the fear of seeing Maan again was overwhelming, she would have to face him. She told herself that he had probably moved on and would definitely leave her alone after the way that she had treated him. He had saved her, he was her knight in every right and she had repaid him- the best way she knew how!
Maan stood at the front of the conference hall giving a speech welcoming everybody, when he saw Geet discretely enter. She looked even more beautiful than before he thought. She was dressed in western clothing, a crisp white sleeveless shirt tucked into a knee length skirt. He saw her luscious locks sway as she sat down and was taken back to the feeling he had the very first time he had seen her sitting on that bed. She looked up feeling his piercing gaze. She smiled and mouthed the word 'sorry.' He looked away 'Huh sorry for what' he thought, still angry at how things had been left, and she even had the audacity to turn up late. The meeting was coming to a close and there were just a few people left in the hall. Geet felt that it should be her who should make the first move. She apprehensively walked over to him, her palms sweaty, heart pounding, 'Geet what's wrong with you, its only Maan!' she rebuked her self. She had nearly reached him when he looked up from collecting up his files and quickly looked away, turning his back on her he began walking. Geet paused, he was ignoring her, what is wrong with him; so they had taken their relationship to the next level- neither had tied their feelings into the relationship, had they? She was confused, angry and began to tear. 'Geet get a-hold of yourself, you can talk to him later!' she tried to be positive, but it was easier said than done.
Geet vowed to not let this mess with Maan interfere with her work, she would prove to him her worth and would show him that he had not wasted his time on her. She awoke feeling nervous and scared, it was at last the day of her branch's meeting with Maan. She had not spoken to him the whole conference, she would try and he would simply ignore her, every time he would turn away from her; she felt more hurt. He would finally have to talk to her today, she smiled weakly as she began getting ready.
Maan too woke to nerves. He would have to face her, having done everything in his powers to keep him self away from her, he could not avoid her today. He got ready and arrived at the hotel where he had arranged the meeting and settled in with his files and coffee, waiting for the Geet and the others to arrive. He tried to read the paper but all he could think about was her, when would she get here? It had been far too long since he had seen the beauty of her eyes; those eyes that had captured him since the very first day that he had laid his on her.
He looked up as he felt the shift in the air, there she was, wearing a sleeveless, deep blue dress which hugged her every curve, she had pinned her hair up with just a few strands teasing her face. She looked a vision- every bit the powerful woman that he had wanted her to become. She took his breath away and he struggled to gather up enough strength to welcome his employees.
There he was sitting proudly in his chair, his every movement, his every facial expression displayed his brilliance. Their eyes met, and hearts began to race. Both tried to control the feelings that had once again awaked, trying hard to regain some composure, both sat and the meeting began.
