I called up dadima in the main house and rushed Geet to the hospital as soon as I could. I had already informed the doctor about her condition on the way.

As soon as I reached the hospital the doctor came forward and took geet into the room telling me to wait outside. "Mr. Khurana hum dekthe hain hum kya kar sakte hain, aap pls chinta mat kijiye,"

"Who theek toh ho jaayegi na doctor,"

"I cant promise you anything, but I will try my best Mr. Khurana."

She will try her best, what did she mean by that. Did she mean that Mishti was in danger. No that cant be possible . Mishti has to be alright. I have to make amends for the mistakes I have done. She is the essence of my life. She cant leave me like this. She promised me she will always be with me. How can she just break her promise just like that.

I saw a nurse a coming out of the room in which Geet was admitted. I rushed to her immediately asking her about Geets condition.

She replied to me in a nonchalant tone that they were trying their best and I should be patient.

I looked at her flabbergasted. Mere zindagi wahan ek jung lad rahi thi aur yeh mujhe shaant rehne ko keh rahi hai. Mujhe yeh bhi nahi maloom ke mere jeene ka maksat mere paas rahega bhi ya nahi aur yeh mujhe kehte hain ke main intezaar karoon. Intezaar he toh kar raha tha pichle itne saalon se, itne saalon se ek jeene ka maksat toh dhoond raha tha. Aaj jab mila hai toh woh bhi kismet mujse cheen rahi hai.

I sat there emotionless I don't know for how long. But to me it seems like eons and eras I sat there waiting for the doctor to come and tell how was SHE.

After some time the doctor came out and I rushed over to her and asked her about Geets condition.

"She is fine Mr. Khurana. Humne unhe kuch sedatives de die hain..woh kuch der mein hosh mein aa jayengi."

I smiled and thnked her. And then I remembered the baby.

"Doctor her baby, its.."

Yes Mr. Khurana the baby is also perfectly fine. But I would like to talk to you over something. Can u pls come to my cabin.

My face would have showed a change in emotions because she immediately told me there was nothing to worry its just some details she wanted about Geet.

I nodded my head and walked with her to the cabin.

I entered the cabin behind her and she asked me to take a seat.

"Mr. Khurana I want to know something about Geet. U called me last night that she was not well but from her current condition she seems to be in stress from a very long time.."

"Yes doctor, we kind of had an misunderstanding but its all cleared now,"

"Are u sure, there is nothing weird in her behavior according to you."

I shook my head in denial but then I remembered about her constant ranting before she had fainted.

"There is something isn't it Mr. khurana,"

I nodded my head .

"Mr. Khurana can I have the details if u don't mind,"

I was a bit apprehensive about it, but I decided against it and told her what had happened before she had passed out.

The doctor sat there listening to me but she shook her head in denial after I had finished the whole thing.

"Mr. khurana that confirms my suspicions but there must be something more to it. Is that all u want to tell me about her. There is something more on her mind and its clearly shown the way she is responding to the medicines and her babys health.

It was then I recollected her strange behavior in the morning. The way she had called me cute, the way she had held my hand when she was supposed to be angry with me.

It was at that moment that I grasped that I was missing something.

I knew that it was important for the doctor to know everything.

I told her everything from our fight in KM to the party that was held the previous evening at the mansion, her behavior today morning and her eventual collapse in my arms.

The doctor nodded and seemed to be in a different world for a minute. She then turned to me and said

"Mr. Khurana main aapko ab jo batane waali hoon aap us baat ko dhyan se suniye aur pls aapko ab Geet ka aur bhi zayadaa khayal rakhana hoga."

"Who theek toh hai na, use koi khatra nahi toh hai na.."

"Mr. Khurana pls be patient..meri baat sun lejiye uske baad khud he decide kar lijiye ga ke who theek hai nahi.."

I was a bit confused at her statement and nodded my head in an indication for her to explain what was wrong with Geet.

"Mr. Khurana u will have to understand that sometimes the human brain up conjures up certain events when the pain becomes unbearable or it might forget certain events to make sure that it does not have to fight the pain or when it is afraid of losing something or someone the person dearly loves ."

I did not understand a word of what she was saying or what she meant by that.

Before I could ask her anything or before she could explain further a nurse came running in and said

"Doctor the patient in ward 202 is up and she is not listening to anyone,"

I looked at the nurse in annoyance. The doctor said ,"Geet," which was enough to put me on my feet and I ran towards the ward with her.

She entered the room and told me to stand outside. I stood outside seeing what was happening inside.

The doctor was trying to explain something to her but she would just not listen. The doctor tried to hold her but she was way too adamant to let the doctor near her. The doctor then instructed the nurse to prepare an injection. I could not hear them but I could see the nurse getting an injection ready.

I barged into the room. "Maan yeh dekhiye na yeh kya kar rahein hain.."

I was shocked. She became still as soon as she saw me but she wouldn't listen to her doctor.

I walked upto her and held her hand. She smiled the most beautiful smile at me.

I sat down beside her and she settled comfortably on the bed.

"Maan yeh log yahaan kyon hai"

"Geet tum bimaar ho na isliye yeh tumhara khayal rakh rahein hain,"

She shook her head in denial. "Nahi yeh mujhe aapse door kar rahein hain,"

I was taken aback by her behavior. She still seemed to be ranting the same thing.

"Geet main yahaan ho tum so jaao.."

"pakka," I nodded and she held my head kept it under her head and went off to sleep in a matter of minutes.

The doctor signaled me to come out. I tried removing my hand from her grip but she woke up even before my hand could move an inch out of her grasp.

"aap mujhe chod kar jaa rahein hain,"

"Nahin main bas paani pene jaa rah hoon."

She looked at me with eyes that were full of questions.

"Main pakka 15 min mein waapis aa jaoonga..tum so jaao,"

I smiled at her. She let go of my hand and I walked out of her ward towards the doctor cabin.
