For half an hour Lexie soothes Lux's pain to a tolerable level as his body was changing. His face broke her heart. This was the toughest thing she had to face watching her brother suffer. His face had turned to a bluish colour from the blood loss. His face had been cleared of all sweat and mud thanks to Pari keeping Lux cool with a cold wash. His eyes filled with not fear for the unknown but concern about what he was putting them through. It was his usual thing looking out for his younger sisters before his own needs. Lexie was desperate to do something. Lexie heard a thud from upstairs. Must be Abhay awakening from a deep slumber with Haseena and Chand. Good! Now they could found a way to help Lux with this problem as a collective. Pari had racked out all the books along with her to find anything to help Lux. They came to a dead end. There was however one book in the dark arts never tested before. The curse was already activated but Lexie had other options for her brother other than testing out this new method be it dangerous it was all they had. It was unthinkable to fathom such a thought in the first place. Lexie had a huge task on her hands convincing Abhay to go through with it. Chand came down to see the damage with his own eyes. He'd felt Lux's heart racing faster than ever. He was already into the first phase of evolving. Chand felt no sympathy for Lux it was part of their world. Fallen soldiers were expected when a battle ensues between two rival supernatural's. Haseena sniffed out this new smell wafting up the stairway.

Haseena curiously watches over at the table-"He looks bad!"

Pari sarcastically hit back-"U think! Lady he knows how bad this is so keep your pessimistic comments to yourself. No need to point out the obvious."

Lexie eagerly asked Chand about a hybrid combination to avoid danger to the vamps and to others-"I read about this in one of your books. A hybrid can be created at the right moment if the victim is not past the first few hours."

Chand raised his eyebrows with interest-"I see where U are taking this. Its all just a myth. Never been done before."

Lexie asked with hope-"How do U know if you've never tried this before?"

Chand hesitated for a few seconds keeping a straight faced with his hands on the table-"It's beyond any of your comprehension. This is absurd to even suggest such an act. The outcomes could create chaos for both our kinds."

Lexie pursued this subject to Chand-"I really want to know Chand. I don't want to lose my brother to them. I won't. I've seen how close nit they all are excluding their families from their life to be with the pack. The aggression. I don't want Abhay hurt either hence this is the only way while the window is still open."

Haseena could see Lexie was determined-"This is frowned up on by our elders Lexie. What U are asking of us could spell trouble for all of us."

Lexie stood firm in her stance-"I know but what other option do we have other than handing him over. Maya would just love that wouldn't she. I'm not letting her win. Not by the cost of losing the only brother i have."

Chand thought deeply in thought-"Abhay might not agree with U Lexie. If U can bring him around within 15 minutes then we are all in."

Lexie knew how to push Abhay's buttons-"Fine!"

Abhay was still upstairs bewildered while staring at a sleeping Piya examining her injuries. It terrified Abhay to even think of losing Piya. He was more concerned with how all this would affect her in the long run than her physical scarring. Mentally she was probably scarred by the nightmare she'd witnessed. Never in her wildest dreams would Piya have ever thought any of this was remotely possible. She wanted the truth but te way it came out was all wrong. Abhay thought she looked so peaceful but this was only the calm before the storm. The events would come to haunt them all when Piya woke. The night was a close call. He was puzzled on how he even got here in the first place. Lux had been injured trying to guard them with his body. He'd heard the others downstairs discussing Lux and some hybrid. He better check it out. He had to see if Lux was ok.

Abhay saw everyone gathered around Lux at the table with Sid included. It all seemed so bleak. He saw the frantic faces of Pari and Lexie who were already worn out. Poor girls had been up the whole night taking care of everyone while they all napped like babies. Lux lay straight on the table. He was worse for wear was an understatement. His mental screams could be heard echoing in his head.

Abhay voiced his concern-"Is he going to be Ok? I mean i know what the implications are. I saw the bite marks from both Maya and the head wolf. Is there anything we could do?"

Lexie full on blurted out-"I want Lux back to normal. That's never going to happen so i want the next best thing. His safety from vampires and werewolves."

Abhay noted a hint of command in her voice-"What is it U want Lexie?"

Lexie bore into Abhay's blue eyes in his emotive state daring him-"I want him turned. By U Abhay if not Chand. Its the only way to save him from harming U guys and stopping this connection he'd have with the pack."

Sid was offended-"Hey i'm turning too U know! Does that mean i'll be a danger to U too?"

Lexie threw daggers with her eyes knocking Sid against the wall-"U shut your trap! Its too late to change U Sid but Lux has a chance."

Abhay couldn't believe what Lexie was asking him to do-"This is preposterous. Do U even know what U are asking of me? What this would do to Lux? He won't be either of the two kinds and if worse comes to worse he could mutate or worse die. U want that for him?"

Pari joined in Lexie's cause-"Abhay it won't be like that trust us. He's our brother. We know what we are doing. Trust in us Ok. We have this in the bag."

Abhay wanted in on the plan-"Have U cooked this up while we were all knocked out?"

Pari-"Yeah but its all in this book. With help from magic we can do this while we have time on our side. We have to for Lux. Please. I don't want him losing his identity. That is exactly what will happen and U know this very well."

Abhay knew time was running out-"I wish we could sit this out and think harder before we decide anything. This will isolate him Lexie for a while. It's never been done before as far as i know. I can't do this to him."

Lexie bellowed loudly-"U owe him Abhay! He saved U all and this is how U return the favour?"

Abhay didn't mind the fury in Lexies voice-"I owe U all but this is beyond my limits. I can not harm another living person. Lux is still living Lex just let him be. I understand the quandary U face. He's my blood too U know!"

Lexie fumed-"Please keep the emotional level down Abhay. Your not even human so how do U ever understand where i'm coming from."

Pari-"Lexie that's not fair! Keep control of your anger and save it for the one who deserves it."

Abhay felt the blow but Lexie had the right to lash out-"It's Ok Pari. Before i commit to what i may regret ask Lux!"

Chand helped in his usual dark ways-"This decision should only be taken by Lux. Not any of us. He has the right to choose his fate. We never had the luxury of this and neither did Lux when he got bit but give him the chance now."

Abhay saw Lux's dark eyes as he writhed on the table-"Lux what do U want?"

Lexie hoped her brother agreed with her-"Bro U see where i'm coming from right?"

Sid wanted Lux to say no so he'd have a partner in crime through the transformation phase-"Choose wisely. I opt for being a wolf."

Lexie shot her eyes at him-"This is a family matter. U butt out and go home."

Pari-"Sid please just don't say anything."

Lexie stroked her brother wet hair-"Just say the words please for me."

Lux had heard what the others wanted. He knew he'd sealed his fate but he loved Abhay. Not that he'd ever let the sucker know this fact. He loved his sisters and would move heaven and earth for them. He was damned anyway so what harm could this move do other than ruin him for good. All his life he hated the dark side. Vampires and werewolves were considered as the worst kind of being. He hated both kinds equally but Abhay had him embrace the man behind the monster. He was a part of him. lux never wanted to hurt either of them and as a werewolf the likelihood of this happening was huge. In wolf mode there was no control. He'd seen this first hand and now it was the make or break time. This was the life he was treading on now between the two as a hybrid. He mentally laughed at the thought of turning into his formerly most hated creatures. Ironic or what? His family were cursed alright from Abhay to the witches who never led a simple life. Their powers followed them to their graves as did their own demons. His whole body cried for something cool it was on fire. He desperately needed a coolingbalm. He didn't dare wince or show his discomfiture to the gang.

Lux gasped out with difficulty-"Want in."

Lexie kissed her brothers face-"See i knew he'd see it my way."

Abhay wanted to make sure-"U sure Lux. Theres so much untouched ground here. We don't know what this will do to U or if its even going to work."

Lux blinked his eyes weakly letting out-"Yes! Just do IT!"

Chand confirmed the consensus '"U heard the boy now do it already Abhay!"

Abhay bore his fangs out-"This will hurt only a bit. Then you will have to drink from me Lux do U understand?"

Lux blinked his eyes-"Yes!"

Sid just stared at Abhay morphing into his vampire mode-"This is so unnatural."

Abhay bit into Lux's open wound where Maya bit him and took a little blood which tasted mixed. Half overpowering due to their blood relation and half revolting thanks to the wolf gene kicking in. He saw Lux's flashback on all his most treasured moments shifting very fast from his childhood with his sisters, to his romantic feelings for Misha and his new found respect for Abhay. This surprised him that Lux actually did care about Abhay and hid it behind all the bravado he showed others. There was an element of fear which is expected from anyone but not for himself. For his family. His sisters, his Mom, Dad and Abhay. Then Abhay broke the connection letting Lux take some blood from him as he bit on to his wrists directing it to Lux's mouth. Lux didn't like the taste of blood but he drank some just to rush the process. Lux saw images of Abhay from his own life as a human to his love for Maithali and so forth. There was so much loneliness in there, Abhay had cut himself off from the world but Piya and his clan had brought him back out again. The intense loyaly to his kin was overwhelming to say this was an understatement. Abhay let Lux lie back down.

Piya came down the stairs to witness this monstrosity in action. Her head was a total wipeout. She had millions of things running past which didn't make sense. She knew this was no nightmare. She wa watching it in the flesh with her own eyes. Piya was still alive and so were the others. Abhay had Lux in his arms feeding him blood. Were they all from the Twilight Zone or a badly made Supernatural film. This wasn't normal. This was a freak show. She had seen some peculiar things in her life before but never like this. Abhay wasn't the man she'd loved. He was some monster. The man who claimed to love her wasn't even human.

Abhay could see some improvement-"He's recovering. Now its a waiting game."

They all turned around. Sid saw Piya try to bolt-"What do U think U are doing Piya?"

Piya just screamed at Sid-"Getting away from U! All of U."

Sid manhandled Piya down-"So your going to limp all the way back home?"

Piya saw Lux on the table-"How is he?"

Lux mended up sat himself up-"I'm fine a bit sore. Feeling better but hurt by what you're saying Piya. After what we've all been through U go ahead and act as if we're the devil incarnate."

Piya saw Abhay revert back to his normal guise-"I'm sorry Piya!" he said in a gravelly tone.

Piya heart did summersaults. She still loved him but hated him for the lies. None of this was sinking in-"Then what do U call this grotesque thing U were doing? Feeding him blood. Are U all vampires?"

Sid gave Piya a little distance so she wasn't scared of him-"I'm a happening werewolf sister. It runs in our genes unfortunately U got lucky."

Piya hit back-"Loving a vampire is lucky? He killed me a few times."

Abhay's eyes closed in pain-"U remember!"

Piya nodded-"Now i do but i can't believe the lengths U went to Abhay. Or is it Abhimanyu?"

Lexie tried to help-"Piya he was going to tell U but then U went missing and Maya got to U before we could."

Piya cried-"U should have let her kill me. Then i wouldn't be broken inside. He (Pointing at Lux) wouldn't have had to undergo this s**t!"

Sid rallied around Piya-"Lux sacrificed a lot for U and this is the thanks U give him."

Piya scurried away from Sid-"Stay the hell away from me Sid. I have no brother no family. Got it. All of U stay away from me."

Lexie knew it was Piya's fears talking not Piya-"Let her go. If she wants to turn into vampire at the hands of Maya it's her call."

Piya's eyes shot up-"A what?"

Lexie finished-"That's right? A vampire the very thing U hate. Abhay was saving U from that fate. We all were but now instead of U it Lux who has to pay. He's turning thanks to your stupidity."

Pari hushed Lexie-"Calm down sister your eyes are going black!"

Lexie simmered-"Sorry! My temper is in check. Piya take a time out. Sort yourself out first then come back to us with insults. Whatever U can throw at us. Right now all our fuses are short circuiting."

Piya saw Lux who's battle wounds were still visible had this other worldly look to him burst out into tears as she scurried up the stairs cradling her body with her arms. The adrenaline guised her aches and pains but what about the internal fire she'd have to face. The harsh truth. Abhay didn't once try to talk to her or worm his way out. Piya thought it was for the best considering her mood swings were heavier on the attack front than being reasonable.

Abhay was thinking of following Piya but Pari stopped him in his track-"Abhay let Piya go! She needs some time to let all this sink in. Imagine being in her shoes for one minute. If U go after her U might antagonize her."

Lexie agreed-"Yeah Pari's right. Piya has a lot to think about. She'll be fine. She's just found out her boyfriend is a vampire and her brother is a werewolf how many girls have that going on for them?"

Abhay sank back-"You're probably right."

Sid to Lux-"How are U holding up bro?"

Lux felt some discomfort but other than that it was like being normal. His hearing had gone up a notch-"Am i not supposed to be dead?"

Chand wondered-"On the contrary this maybe the hybrid's way of dealing with both transformation in one. We'll have to keep a record of this and write it down for future reference."

Misha and the Gang

They were finally home. Panchi and Misha waved Kabir off and headed straight upstairs to their bedroom. Misha checked her cell phone for the gazillionth time. No messages off Lux or Piya. Pari had given Misha a text saying they've all gone home due to sickness. Something they ate and Sid was with them. Who needed Sid as a brother when he ditched his sisters and joined the other team. Lux was in for a grilling for deserting her. she wanted at least a phone call if not a text just to hear his voice. That would have sufficed but no he was such a man. Panchi was already in bed. She had an early morning but Misha was still buzzing. She couldn't stop thinking about Lux and why he really left. Maybe they were telling the truth. They probably did have food poisoning. Misha wished Piya was here by her side so they could gossip about the boys. Tracker was no fun as she only ever talked about herself. Close your eyes Misha and dream of Lux. Misha thought about calling Piya. She picked the phone and rang. Nobody picked up. Her phone was probably switched off no doubt. Piya normally kept it on silent if they were in college. Or maybe her battery was dead. For some reason Misha could stop fretting about Piya. The whole concert became a drag after they left. Well the last hour anyway. Misha sure hoped they were all safe. Her heart kept telling her otherwise.

Misha went downstairs for a quick snack where she saw her Mom with a pitcher of water-"Hey Mom!"

Madhoo-"How was your night?"

Misha-"It was Ok until they all bailed out on us. I don't think it was their scene. U not asleep?"

Madhoo smiles-"A mother can never sleep till her baby girls are back home safe and sound."

Misha gives Madhoo a big hug-"So cute Mom."

Madhoo-"Where's Sid?"

Misha shrugged her shoulders frowning-"He didn't come home? He left early with Piya and her boyfriends family."

Madhoo-"Ohhhhh! So Sid has a crush huh?"

Misha grinned cheekily-"U could say that but she's taken. He sure knows how to pick them."

Madhoo stopped smiling and raised her eyebrows-"That boy has a mind of his own but why can't he ever just settle in one place?"

Misha-"He's your son Mom i'm off don't stay up too late."
